Chellee

Cortis definitely should tap into that rock aspect or alternative in thier music, also this performance is so fucking good omg

avenrei

Cortis won the 'Rookie of the Year' award!

jeonguk

THEY DESERVED IT!!

spey

im not going to lie, it was the best performance on mama this year

Gabriela

fr they were really good

iman

as a non-fan, i think they have the energy but those 2 songs are not songs for a performance, they are songs for tiktoks for sure hence the trending and love they get. especially the 2nd song, i dont hear any music like i cant figure out the melody or beat. just them saying fashion? just my honest opinion

Dani

this remix/version for fashion in general is just not pleasing to hear and experience irl. i was there and you can barely hear any melody, it's just all broken bass, unfortunately.

CORTIS💖

Emiko Kazumu

im guessing you aren't really fond of rock music girl 😭

iman

oh believe me i love rock (i listen to xdinary heroes) but the mix was not it for me😅

In my opinion. They didn’t just want to do the regular stuff so they wanted to switch things up. It was good and amazing. They wanted to interact with the crowd. It may not be for you but it sure was for the crowd.

First things first, anything that’s entertaining or makes people feel something (sad, hype, happy, whatever ) is a performance. Let’s not act like there’s a rulebook. And honestly, you’ve gotta cut them some slack. They’re literal teenagers making their own music. Of course it’s going to be influenced by their everyday lives. That’s the charm. And this is my issue with K-pop sometimes… since when did we decide what type of music is “performance worthy”? The whole “they only get love because it’s TikTok music” take is so close-minded. They get love because they’re young, talented, relatable as hell, and they make their own stuff. That’s not exactly common. Plus, chanty songs aren’t new. Half of 4th gen is doing chant-based tracks, so I don’t really get what you were aiming for with that point. not liking the mix is one thing completely, all that other stuff is unnecessary

iman

ok hey calm down. firstly, im just saying what i think and this wasnt for me. *I* wasnt "feeling" it because i cant figure out the melody/song. im here in kpop for the music.. secondly, them being teenagers has nothing to do with this. not everyone will know they are teenagers from the 1st watch/listen. thats why i said as a non-fan (as in i know nothing about them or their songs).. theres nothing wrong with making songs for trends. thats literally how the music industry moves now. so i dont get your beef here. theres alot of good tiktok songs out there. yall need to learn to receive critisms especially for a new self-produced group. just chill, a lot more is coming your way both constructive or not. i was trying to word my take as nicely as possible. but i apologise if it sounds harsh (?) to some ppl ig.

bee

you're entitled to your opinion. in fact, even though it's not uncommon for kpop groups to do different versions of their songs for award shows, some fans (although the minority) wished they had performed the original version of fashion with choreo instead of a rock version. that being said, your comment about their music being for "tiktok trends" and "not for a performance" seems a bit odd. since when are we deciding what's "tiktok music" and what songs are not "worthy" of performance? i know you probably didn't mean to sound harsh, but that sounded kind of backhanded. what is "tiktok music" anyway? you have all sorts of songs trending on tiktok, from new-gen songs to old school gems. i assume they performed these 2 tracks bc they're the most energetic ones they have so far, their other tracks are a bit more mellow and chill so if anything, go and fashion are currently the most suitable songs they have for a performance stage. constructive criticism is fine but saying things such as "these are not performance-worthy tracks, they're tiktok songs, hence the love they get" doesn't really sound like constructive criticism to me lol. disliking the rock version of fashion is fine, plenty of people did and everyone has their preferences. it's just that your other comments sounded backhanded, hence why some people got defensive.

Gabriela

BEST PERFORMANCE lets gooo!!

Jee Emm

Regardless of the backhanded comments here and online, CORTIS is the most followed kpop act in Spotify for days now after MAMA. That's impact. People loved that performance, like it or not.

Kurnia Armayana
