Imagine you’re a military man.

Imagine you swore to protect your nation and its people.

Imagine your country suffers a double earthquake, it’s worst tragedy in a century.

Imagine there’s thousands of deaths, tens of thousands of disappeared and injured people.

Imagine you see the civilians, the survivors, moving the debris result of the thousands of homes that crumbled down in seconds.

Imagine you see these survivors using nothing but their naked hands to try and find their friends, families and neighbors.

Imagine you stand right beside them, watching them from below the comforting shadow of a tree, with clean pairs of gloves and fresh water in your unscathed hands.

Imagine your partners across the country are not only doing nothing, but obstructing the way for other civilians wanting to help, robbing whatever’s left under the rubble.

Imagine your superiors, your government, are just doing the best they can not to help the people, but to cover their marks, because they know it’s their fault a whole city collapsed, because they built unsafe houses for civilians in need just to get a vote.

Imagine you stand there, and just watch, because you’ve only been trained and ordered to hurt these people and so have all of the military and police for almost 30 years.

I haven’t been active here the last couple of weeks, but I haven’t been able to take a break, I’ve actually tried almost every single day to sit down and paint, work on anything. Sometimes I can work on previous compromises, but anytime I try to sit down and think of anything to draw, this is all I can think about.

And it’s because this is a real picture, taken a couple of days after the 7.1 and 7.5 earthquakes hit Venezuela and took the whole city of La Guaira with it. It was taken in La Guaira. This is a real scenario.

Here are a couple of resources through which you can still help, if you want and can.

Thankfully, I’m alright, my family is alright, my friends are alright, at least physically.

Thankfully, once I got this out of my mind and chest, I can start moving on, little by little, and return to our regular schedule of themes and posting.

Will be showing yall a couple of WIPs of those pieces previously agreed on that I’ve been working on.

Thank you to everyone who’s still here, and thank you to anyone that read.

All the love.
