For the innocents, the ones who ain’t been taught t’ hate yet.

Hey y’all!

The casting of Inde Navarrete as Rogue shocked me at first but the more I researched for references of both Rogue herself and Inde the more it convinced me.

Ever since I was a child I hated the portrayal of Anne Marie in the 00s X-Men films, because in every other adaptation and later on when I discovered the comics, I saw her as an independent, challenging, tough woman that wouldn’t let the limitations of her powers stop her from doing whatever she wanted, whether it was falling in love, being there for her teammates/family or saving innocents’ lives. So, pretty sure you could understand how frustrated I was portrayed as an angsty teen, that served to the story as nothing but an untouchable princess in need of saving.

I’m excited to see a fun and defiant Rogue on the big screen and I think Inde channels that energy perfectly. Which is exactly what I went for in this piece! Catching Rogue in the middle of a fight, being hurt but finding the challenge fun to conquer because whatever she’s protecting is worth the effort. She’s hope, not darkness.

Remember this is early access, so if you want to reshare or post the piece, please wait until I post it for the public this weekend.

As always, you can download the wallpapers from the post or get them from our collection here.

All the love.
