This is the last week without Charlie, I promise. But since it's Friday, I can't leave you without a comic strip, or rather, a comic panel. Some old comic strips caught my attention a few days ago, unlocking a drawer in my memory that had been closed for decades. I'm talking about "Dennis the Menace", a daily comic strip by Hank Ketcham that I read as a child. I remember having a school diary featuring Dennis, and despite all those strange lines, I was pretty good at drawing him. I clearly remember being 7 or 8 and understanding how that character was drawn. Eventually, I was able to draw it by heart, including original poses, without references.

As I told you before, I found some comic panels of Dennis and discovered a different approach by his author, especially in situations when his parents try to have a break from their child and be more of a couple than parents. When I was a child, I didn't mind that kind of thing, but now I see a certain "tension" in those works, which I like. There are also some panels where Dennis's mum, who is a very pretty pin-up girl, is in an intimate situation and is annoyed by her kid. This is the scene I wanted to redraw, adding a modern touch while staying true to the spirit of that old comic. I hope I've accomplished my mission... let me know what you think!By the way, here's the original work

And this is the time-lapse video of the drawing process: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/8xrg8wb0jlym44rik8bki/dennis.jpg?rlkey=2n8v5u29tr2okq8sxcw86joq8&dl=0
