AUGUST: hot rain haze (Patreon)

If you noticed a contradiction between the culling abrasiveness of my latest video and the explicit commitment to be more consistent, that was on purpose! I'm being vulnerable & self effacing!

If I'm gonna do an update video explaining my absence and committing to serve you better i might as well kick over some tables on the way in so no one gets too cozy.

Shorter & snappier is the order of the new main channel era. And consistent artisan enrichment accountability is the action plan for Patreon.

Patreon posts will now come reliably on Wednesdays and Fridays. First of the month is this monthly update, and the last of the month is a Zoom Town Hall Q&A, where we can talk about main channel vids, philosophy, recent reads, album of the month movie of the month etc.

Hope to make this community a little hotbed of cultural and intellectual cultivation.

I've been musing about what kinds of books to include in extracurricular reading, and I've settled on short-ish readable volumes that I sincerely think you should pick up if you're looking for something more. I'm reading denser bigger books over longer periods of time, but I like the extracurriculars actually being readable if you choose to indulge them, so I've selected for that. I've noticed some people on here want to dive deeper in particular areas so this is a resource.

(The John MacMurray text in particular is a major source for my lectures)

.

All of this is useful for me as a system of accountability, so can force myself and you to consistently intentionally engage deeply with at least one album and movie a month. I don't watch enough movies! Important part of life I've allowed to slip.

And of course! Book Club boots up again tomorrow and will keep coming around each Friday.

See you tomorrow! And then Wednesday. And then Friday. And then Wednesday. And then live in Toronto. And then on the main channel again in August.
