Oh my god, it's so weird to hear from two people with interesting opinions who *liked Last Jedi.* I can't even bring it up anymore in conversation because in my communities, the consensus is "it's bad," and the reasons appear to be: -"XYZ scenes didn't make sense because the hero must be right, and they were portrayed as wrong here, so it must be bad writing" -"People called me sexist for disliking it so I hate it even harder now" (ain't that a microcosm for modern politics) So it's incredibly refreshing to hear people praising it for being willing to... gasp... examine the formula. At least everyone agrees it's better than Episode 9. "I want this climax to be a thousand times higher-stakes than the Death Star," said the script writer perhaps. "What about... a thousand Death Stars???"

"what do I want to look like? how do I want to present what gives me that kind of like Euphoria? or what what makes me feel like I am putting externally out into the world the way I feel internally? what do I feel like is a good cover for this book that tells you what's in the book so you can judge the book by its cover?" loved this. i like this ive always thought the sentence "dont judge a book by its cover" kind of misses the point. the cover is literally there to give you an impression of the book. so making a cover that accurately represents the book is the goal. this quote kind of encapsulates that feeling for me. obviously were talking about people and not books.
