ok,

basically i'm making a 3-3.5 hour documentary that is also an academic masters philosophy thesis and is also self expression and is also intended to be numerically successful, and that takes a really long time.

i have a final cut on the first hour, which was the hardest bit by a lot but there's no rushign this at this point it's either perfect or its not worth it

i have felt that splitting my energy by working on other things was bad because i should be investing everything into getting the video done. but i'm now confident the video is going to be just as good as i intended it to be, AND it cannot be rushed. but in due time we will all be staring into each other souls conglomerated around the art moment like a watering hole filled with agua blessed by ex communicated priests etc.

i will not take this long on another video after this, for a while. if i do, i will tell you that this is happening. and you will have this 3 hour thing as a reference for the scope and quality to expect in exchange for that extended time of TLC.

in the meantime (read: immediate future) i will be posting more on patreon to make up for how long the thing has taken and the future thigns will take.

For Queer Christianity and What Is Quality I have done higher budget productions involving travel and music video shoots and on sight interviews, and of course preposterous amounts of research. You can expect this trilogy to be a significant cut above my previous content.

I ended my previous big serious piece with heightened awareness, but no answers. I have been focusing on generating answers. That's why I've been quiet.

So thank you for the Patreon support. I don't know anyone else as blessed with such trust from an audience to take time and ignore sponsors and adsense and everything else and just invest everything in exactly what they determine will be of highest quality.

Social No Para / Conversations With:

I will start posting Conversations With and Social No Para episodes again. I have felt previously when I haven't posted on the main channel that there is no reason to assume you would want supplementary content when you haven't recently received primary content, but i am adapting to these new waters of making YouTube videos i "desperately care about" instead of just "care about a lot".

Livestreams:

i'm also going to do some livestreams publicly and i will leave those livestreams up here. i will even, for once, allow you to vote on something ! We can elect and vote for subjects that you want to watch me go off on for an hour or more. i retain 100% veto power, but i am interested in knowing what you might want to hear. i sometimes horse blinder extremely hard on what i'm currently working on and forget the channel has brushed many topics that i also have researched and thought on and people have found valuable that can absolutely be mined for more.

Music:

finally there will be more music, both stupid and not stupid.

oh and book club will start again in oct. i will remain a participant, but we may rotate hosts. doing some backroom meetings to organize this so my life is sustainable

right before my Bo Burnham video i was actually working on an Olivia Rodrigo album analysis that i never recorded. i'm actually not completely sure how to translate album analysis into video essay format, its harder than analyzing visual media just by nature of the platform. but i thought it'd be fun if you came and joined me in listening to the album track by track and watching me explain my lyrical analysis. come and bring your headphones and an open angsty teenage heart.

this livestream will be unlisted, just us on Patreon, then posted on Patreon so u always have the opportunity to relive and relisten with me.
