Hannah (and Ash), although Stranger Things stands on its own. If you want a little foundational influencer movies to check out to see the kinds of vibes are coming from you might check out if you haven't already: * ET (there are a lot of similarities to it esp. in Season 1) * Goonies * Stand By Me * Nightmare on Elm Street (the title of this episode a Wierdo on Maple Street is sort of a nod to that) * Halloween (The kids were referring to Michael Myers) You are getting a cross between campy horror flicks and the child-hero films of the 80s and/or early ninety's. It really feels like a love-child between Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. I grew up in the 80s (5-15 years old) and when I saw the first few episodes the 80s-synth theme and the general 80s-ness of it was making me flash back to that time frame and had to look up 80s synth music on YouTube.

Your reaction to all the kid scenes is so sweet, they are all very cute kids! Also yes you're spot on about the time period, it's somewhere around 1983 I think? Something like mid 80s. I love how much you empathize with characters, I've always liked that about your GoT reactions but your understanding of Chief Hopper reminded me all over again how good you are at getting character motivation. This is gonna be a great reaction series!! Can't wait for episode 3

I definitely needed the snippets to sync up. I don’t understand the counting part in the beginning so I ended up giving up on watching this one. 😩

Ya my Netflix counts down not up so makes it hard to sync without seeing where you are also. I had to go by reactions and you saying back lines to see where you were at.
