Rhyw in Review - 2025 (Patreon)

Hey folks!

Thank you to everybody who supported, commissioned, or simply enjoyed my stuff over 2025. It's thanks to you that I managed to upgrade my workstation to a 5070ti and provide a NAS solution so I can continue archiving my projects without worry of any data loss. The extra GPU power has been so so so awesome with getting stuff rendered faster.

I would also like to go through some things that I've been planning since June. This is a pretty significant shift in the way I release things behind the scenes, so I recommend reading through this post wholesale to understand where I'm at and the motivations behind the changes I'm making. If you're a busy bee though, there's a TL;DR at the bottom of this page.

Content Expansion Issues.

This is a little complex, but I'm going to break it down as best I can. As a freelance artist, I get no discounts or free pro software. Everything I make is paid for out of pocket in order to maintain my working career. It sucks. Software Subscriptions are hugely expensive. If I had any other source of income this hit wouldn't be too bad (and it was how I operated for a bit.) however I don't see myself finding employment anytime soon for a myriad of factors, though not for a lack of trying. It became a necessity that I break even every month to not eat into the little savings I have. When I took my break in June, I began researching into cheaper alternatives, but not every program has a good substitute.

It was more beneficial for me to run less complex weekly posts to keep Patreon and Commissions afloat as it helped with these costs short term, but it quickly took over my whole process and didn't allow me any breathing room for other stuff I wanted to make. It's hard to produce better exclusive content, variants, or work beyond the typical pin-up, when your nose is pressed firmly into the grindstone. This has meant that my content suffered slightly over the course of this year. I haven't even had the time to fix some model bugs/redo some stuff BTS and that irks me. I want the stuff I make to be as best as it can be.

Solving this problem for good.

Starting 2026, there will be some changes to make Patreon more worthwhile. This means if you're an existing subscriber, you'll be getting more for your money, and if you're on the fence to subscribing I hope that this new influx of timed/permanently exclusive stuff helps make the purchase more appealing. In short:-

• Guaranteed Multiple Exclusive Variants (Angles, lighting, context-fitting clothing, etc.)

• Dedicated WIP posts on weeks where I can't release something.

• New Types of Content: Animations, Comics, etc

While this new workflow may destabilize things a little in the short term, my hope is that by expanding Patreon support and providing better content to you we can finally offset this hurdle for good so I don't need to rely on the commissions or constant nose grinding all the time to stay afloat. (PS: This is something all Artists go through to some extent, so it's nothing new. Doing what's popular/profitable vs doing what you want etc.)

You may have already noticed a slight uptick in variants already due to me testing this new workflow out. I'm expecting this to be the new norm. As with all things, it will take time to settle so there may be weeks where I post very little or a lot while I figure things out. With a bit of luck, this should make subscribing a little more worthwhile and ease this gigantic weight off my ass about always posting every week consistently.

Additional Notes

The Website – Twitter and Bluesky aren't always nice, so I want a space where people can browse both my NSFW and SFW artwork freely without the algorithm dictating what gets promoted or not. I'm hoping to get this functional in the first half of 2026, and much more feature rich in the later half.

SFW – I sort of announced it, then didn't do anything (lol) But, yes. To make good NSFW stuff, I need to make SFW again to stretch my lesser used muscles. There's so many ideas rattling around in my head for a ton of fan art that I'm sure you guys will be interested in. Sometime in January I'll start reuploading my stuff on my SFW account and post some smaller things too.

• Christmas 24/25th Post will probably be the last post of 2025
