I am beat.

Long story short, this month kicked my ass. I'm leaving some details below to help you understand where I'm at, and what I'm going to do for March to compensate and try to re-align myself again. Bullet points at the bottom of the page!

February was quite possibly the worst month I've had yet! What a mess. Hindsight is 20/20, but if I had known just how much everything was going to explode I would've put off an animation to later in the year. Discord's stupid ass decisions, hardware sourcing, and general life commitments have made this almost impossible to get through. I don't like having to pause my momentum at the best of times, but needing to drop everything I was doing in favour of looking for replacement services/new server hardware out of the blue was nightmarish. I really don't want to do this again.

Content Releases (Or lack there of.)

The animation I was working on is around half to 3/4 finished. I would've liked to have posted it today as celebration for a months worth of learning and such, but due to the other stuff going on I basically had to drop it in favour of putting my attention elsewhere. I'm not quitting on working on it, but I am going to pause it for now to get you guys something sooner than later (I don't like leaving you folks without something for too long!) I'll chip away at it as we move into March, see how I feel then.

There are a few WIPs that are close to being finished, so there isn't going to be another week without content (You'll get some this weekend or next Friday at the latest.) My plan was to try and compensate for no animation by putting out some of my usual stuff, but the stress has been insane. My apologies, wholeheartedly.

March Madness.

What happens now? Well, a few things.

  • Expect something this weekend, or Friday at the latest.

  • I'm going to spend some time working on my output. I have a habit of overcomplicating everything I make, so this month is going to be dedicated to just making things that look good while being easy to finish. Kick the habit a little bit. Expect some lesser detailed environments, simpler ideas, but the same amount of effort!

  • I have to organize close to 600GB of data to reshape my NAS and how I work. This is a herculean task and one that ends with me moving off of Windows too. The HDD shortage forced my hand with buying more storage, so this has happened a lot earlier than anticipated (Thanks AI.) I don't expect this to cause too many disruptions until I move to Linux full time, which I will make people aware of when the time comes.

  • The Discord is tentatively staying for as long as I can hold on to it without compromising my safety. I'm still planning on moving platforms, but I want to use this temporary stalemate we have with the privacy issues to begin building a more secure footing. As mentioned previously, Fluxer is my current pick and it just went through a huge API migration. As soon as they allow me to host something that is stable I will do. You'll never have to worry about it again.

  • I will be stepping back from Discord after March starts, but rest assured, every WIP I post will be available in the community chat here on Patreon. I will still pop in to ping everyone whenever something releases, but other than that, I won't be using it as a platform anymore. This means commissions are on indefinite hiatus until we find a new system. (Since Twitter DMs suck, Discord is gone, and there's no other platform I trust enough yet.)
