I would suggest watching episode 44-45 together, it’s a must. There’s a lot of times where episodes need to be watched together

By the way if you didn’t realise the place where hohenheim lived and 1 million people who were sacrificed is in xerxes. The place where Ed travelled to meet that girl roy supposedly killed back in episode 18. That whole ruins of xerxes once used to be a country. Which gluttony hid all the evidence in his stomach remember It’s actually sad that Hohenheim was tricked into immortality by sacrificing 500 thousand souls. He didn’t choose to do that at all and he has to live forever because of a decision made by someone else. By the way this anime doesn’t have several arcs, it’s just segments that has a major climax where everything comes together story wise, action wise and characters coming together
