Sweet lovely story, yet does not shy away from drama and angst. Sure the script could use a second pass to tighten up some dialog and plot holes. But I’m here for my guy Lyall.

I think instead of/before the writter works on the sequel... This one should get that very needed second pass. It's one thing to redo past stuff on a patreon model where people might not go back and re-read stuff, but that goes out the window when you announce/are planning a sequel because fans WILL re read the previous ones, as well as new fans jumping on to read the previous one before the sequel. There were a lot of moments in this VN where I moved to the edge of my seat thinking, oh, plot twist? Good interesting moment? they pulling a swerve? But then they didn't, or did it poorly... Or seemed to almost go there but didn't. The story that almost was (the idea discussed by keith of the prince not knowing HE killed his father) is more interesting than the idea that was, that we all predicted from the get go. And, sure, you CAN have a story where you can guess the villain at the start and then have a billion red herrings later to muddy the waters to later reveal you were right all along, but that is harder to sell... As is, if no reworks on how the story goes are going to be made, the story still needs revised because of some glaring issues... My biggest gripe being the story gaslighting you over how written events go sometimes, the one scene that comes to mind, the one I personally bounced off hard on when reading it, the "I saw the queen's death scene", when right after the characters speak about it as if it didn't go as it actually went... It is actually very obvious and I'm surprised it wasn't fixed, it's actually on the level of did nobody point it out? Is this due to the patreon model, where the hardcore fanbase already had collectively brainwashed themselves into thinking certain scenes went differently, and it also affected the writer? When you read the story, sitting down, in one go, you go from "MC asks a question about the killer's eyes, then literally just screams and passes out." Then the literally next day, a few sentences later, the prince is asking "You knew TOO MUCH, details NOBODY should know!! How did you know so much???" when he... never... spoke about anything that he saw...? But then the plot point of sleeper agent is introduced, where I raised an eyebrow about, because well maybe they can do something by retconing that in? The gaslighting would still need to be tunned to fix it, because the MC never ever addresses stuff or questions it, and characters still ask a question but never answer it, buuut the sleeper agent concept can help mitigate some of those things... But then it just is never addresses, never comes up, it just never resolves either? Woah I did not to hyperfocus rant on a random patreon post lmao, furries just claiming this and password are "amazingly written VNs" makes me question the reading literacy of furries, I swear it's just "vibes plot" more than actual plot. Not that this is as bad as password, though... At least this one knew what it wanted to be and you can TELL there's a "lore bible" somewhere.
