Questions from Patreon Part 20 - How WoW Streamlined out All the Fun

You can send in questions by messaging my on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/SebastianSB/ Levrikon: Like you, I have played WoW since launch where I sunk an ungodly amount of time into it, I’m talking full on setting alarms at 4am so I can quest in Ashenvale without getting ganked and standing around in Ironforge for hours on end inspecting armour. 80% of my time with it I would say was in vanilla but I’ve come back for most expansions in diminishing returns sort of fashion. With the announcement of the official vanilla servers it’s got me thinking whether or not the game was actually “better” back then or if I’m just fuelled by nostalgia. So many quality of life improvements and shortcuts have been added since launch which individually seemed like good ideas but when combined over more than a decade they seem to have made the game little more than “Press 1 to win” what’s your opinion on how WoW has evolved over the years? Do you think it is a better game now than it was then? (bugs and whatnot excluded) 1:24:49 Sorcerer's Apprentice: If you had the resources to make/design your own game, what would you make it be about? What sort of mechanics and art style would you use? Would there be some kind of message you could want to convey to the player?
