Progress Log 5/11/18 - New Mechanics & Room Progress (Patreon)
Content
Hey guys, we’ve been making great progress this week on the second room and have some more stuff to show you.
Vanis:
First things first, the song for the new room is completed! You can check it out HERE.
I’ve also spent some time early this week setting up a Known Bugs list where you can see current issues with Project Cappuccino, as well as which bugs have been fixed. From here on out, I’m going to try and spend every Monday handling bug fixes so that I can make some headway on that front as well.
Aside from that I’ve got a good chunk of info regarding some changes we’ll be trying in the new room. If these changes to game play work, we’ll go back and change the first room to reflect them.
As you can see, the toy box itself has also received a redesign so that it occupies less screen space. Nearly all of the art assets on it are place holders at this time until Doku goes through and does an update of the UI.
A huge part of the negative feedback that we’ve received pertains to the unnecessary stress that the Pleasure Meter causes during Private Encounters. We’re experimenting with removing it all together and replacing it with two smaller bars on top of the toy box. This is also in preparation for the Gallery System that we’ve also been planning out. Here’s a short breakdown of the changes that we’ll be trying in this build.
Love Tokens: These are a new type of currency that will be used to unlock Gallery Art pieces once that function is in place and the main method of obtaining these will be through private encounters. The prototype for Love Tokens is already in game in the form of floating hearts that appear when you do something right when pleasing a girl, be it rubbing the right spots or using a specific toy combo that they like. Players must be aware that a Love Token will only be granted once per objective. For example, you can’t constantly use the clothing pins on a girl that likes them in order to receive unlimited Love Tokens. (More will be explained in the orgasm bar section)
Arousal Bar (First Bar): This is the same bar that’s currently in game and tells you how turned on a girl is. We’ll be removing stage locks for toys and this bar will instead affect how their body and expressions change as they are turned on by the player. This bar will also provide a multiplier to the bottom “Orgasm” Bar, which I’ll be explaining shortly. The goal is going to revolve around keeping the girls turned on so that you can continue to earn Love Tokens from them.
Orgasm Bar (Second Bar): This bar tracks how close a girl is to finishing. With this new feature, players will be able to have girls orgasm multiple times. Each consecutive orgasm will make the next one a little bit harder to reach, meaning that keeping the Arousal Level high will be critical to being able to cum multiple times. Reaching an orgasm will reset the Love Token count and players will be able to re-obtain tokens from hot spots and toy combos that they may have already tried. In theory, someone may be able to pull off an extremely long session and obtain a huge number of Love Tokens in one sitting, but eventually the difficulty will increase so much it will no longer be a worthwhile use of time compared to starting a new encounter. Additionally, Love Tokens will only be obtainable in Story Mode for the foreseeable future.
Toy Speed and Special Actions: With the Pleasure Meter out of the picture, the thrust speed of toys will now be up to the Players. Do keep in mind that unless a girl is turned on, going in hard and fast will not lead to an easy orgasm. (There may be Special cases down the line, such as Mira, that are the exception since she’s likely the only one to like it hard and fast…)
Some toys such as the Bunny Dildo have special actions that will pop out in the same manner as the Speed Tab. Using the Lube will also cause a similar pop up to ask if you want to insert something Vaginally or Anally.
Doku:
Hi everyone! The art side of the room is also coming along great. I’ve pretty much finished the bases for the characters as well as all of their expressions and have now moved on to doing the toy animations.
Once I have the toys out of the way, I’ll be moving on to the background to wrap things up while Vanis continues to handle the programming side.I’m also close to halfway through the patron requests for the month. May is a pretty long month so I feel confident I can get a lot done before cram week and release!
Some of you may have noticed the new Icons on our reward tiers as well! This was done in preparation for the new tier releases, which will be going live later today. More info on these new Tiers can be seen HERE.
The new Cappuccino tier will be limited to 2 slots during the initial launch but I’ll be working to expand it as I make progress with the Art Pieces.
That’s all for this week! It’s been a busy one but we hope you guys are as excited as we are for the new room!
