Progress Log 7/26/22 - Human World Progress (Patreon)

We’ve kept busy over the past week and it’s time to talk about what’s coming next in Project Cappuccino 2.

Implementing Sophie’s Route

With Chapter 1 of Rosaria’s route complete, we’ve moved on to working on Sophie’s route in the human world.

In order to do this, we had to implement a special section of the menu that separates the underworld story and the cafe saga. By toggling the menu, you’ll be able to pick either of the routes. When all this is through, there will be 8 playable routes, 4 in the human world and 4 in the demon world.

The character select menu has also been updated to adjust for the human characters.

New Portraits

Sophie and Colette have had their new portraits fully implemented into the game.

Sophie is keeping most of her original design. We tried experimenting with various different hairstyles on her but nothing felt just right. Ultimately we decided if it ain’t broke, why fix it.

Colette on the other hand is getting a glow up! Apologies to those that preferred her bobcut but we needed to broaden her appeal. Since Colette is now back in her manager role, we gave her a slightly more professional version of the maid uniform.

She’s also got a few hidden details like earrings and various expressions.

Cerise is currently about 60% done and you guys can expect to see her in the next progress log! Once she’s out of the way we’ll be moving on to Mira and wrap up the human world portraits.

While working on this, we also went ahead and added a small bit of polish. Characters now jiggle slightly when they take over a conversation to indicate who’s speaking. This will hopefully make it easier for players to track who’s saying what.

New Cafe BGM

Michi has gone ahead and finished some new background music for the game. This song will play during the Resting Bean scenes in the background. You can listen to it here!
