Progress Log 8/18/22 - Backgrounds, Artwork and Steam (Patreon)
Content
Time for a progress log! This one is a bit delayed since we’ve been busy with preparing some Steam assets, but work continues! Some of the things talked about in this log were in the new build, but we’ll still mention them for those that haven’t had a chance to play the build yet.
New Cafe Background
The Resting Bean has received a facelift!
Doku put together a new background for the cafe! We’ve got modernized things like a digital screen and tablet based register. There is a night variant too that will be making an appearance throughout the story. (Colette had to pull out some more debt to finance this.)
Mana Route Progress
Chapter 1 of Mana’s route is underway! The full dialogue for the chapter is ready to go and it’s all a matter of plugging it into the game and making sure that it flows well.
Mana’s room has a much gloomier vibe than Rosaria’s, which reflects her darker personality.
We’re also trying out the Midjourney AI to fill empty space that would otherwise cost Doku some valuable time. This image for example was converted into the painting in Mana’s room up above the fireplace. We are aware that AI art is new and a bit controversial at the moment, so we’re making sure to use it sparingly and only in places that won’t feel like they cheapen the game.
Human World Recap
A recap has been added when starting a human world route that shows the events that happened in Project Cappuccino 1.
It covers the canonical ending for those that end up jumping straight into Project Cappuccino 2 without playing the first game.
Work and Casual Cerise
Cerise’s dialogue portrait is complete!
She’s got a work and a casual outfit due to her role in the early parts of Sophie’s route. We’re experimenting with the outfit variants this time so that we can allow players to change a character’s outfit. This would provide a ton of unlockables and potential replayability to the game if we manage to pull it off!
Steam Page Preparation
Time for the beast that is Steam!
We’ve been setting up the game’s page since we’re aiming to have a public demo launch simultaneously with a Steam page. Our goal is to have a much stronger reveal than we did with Crystal Road, so we’ll be doing aggressive marketing on all fronts.
That’s all we’ve got for now,
