Let's chip away at that roadmap!

We’ve been busy with Project Cappuccino 2’s gallery. Our goal with this is to make it easy to navigate and accommodate as much art as possible. Ultimately, the gallery is going to be a major selling point of our game and we need it to be leagues above what other games are offering.

Gallery Features

Aside from the increased number of tabs, we’re adding some cool mechanics to the gallery. Some of these are the same as they were in Project Cappuccino 1, but with much cleaner code in the background. (Please ignore the gif compression, it looks crisp in game!)

Images that have variants can be cycled through on the fly. The full view art system also supports three different panning methods for one handed gaming. (Click/Drag, WASD/ArrowKeys and Controller).

Looking for something specific? Now you can filter by tags and sort the gallery to your liking. This was tricky to implement but it works like a charm. We estimate that the game is going to have upwards of 100 images when development is done, so the tag feature was a must.

Additional Content Planned

The Gallery isn’t going to stop at just artwork. With the foundation out of the way, we’ll later be adding the following sections to it.

Compendium: A large archive full of lore and general information about the Cappuccino universe. We’re thinking about making entries in the compendium unlockable through the story, but more info on this and the other mechanics when we get to implementing them.

Juke Box: Michi is putting a ton of effort into the game’s soundtrack, and it’ll be a great addition to allow players to listen to the songs in game whenever they wish.

Token Exchange: The exchange is going to be added as a means to reduce grinding specific character tokens out. You’ll be able to trade, buy and sell tokens for gold in order to get the artwork that you wish.

Speaking of Soundtrack!

Mira's theme is ready and you can listen to it here!

We’re still focusing on getting a public build out, so expect more info on the Minotaur and Public Use scenes in the coming progress logs.
