Tentakero is Hiring! Looking for a Character Artist, CG Artist and Background Artist (Patreon)
Content
There's been some stuff brewing behind the scenes but to keep things on topic, we recently were approved for a loan through our bank. We're looking to use these funds to speed up Project Cappuccino 2's development and get the game out on Steam sooner.
The game is well underway in development but there is a ton of art that needs to be done that our single artist needs a hand with.
For Patrons here, it hopefully means more art! Here's the details if you happen to know of anyone interested. Feel free to spread the link to this post around.
All 3 roles can be the same person if you are capable of doing all 3.
Rough budget estimation is $7000 USD for all artwork. We're basically requesting commissions until the funds dry up, at which point we will gauge and see if we need more artwork.
Payment for the first few art pieces will be half up front and the second half upon completion. Commissions after that will be fully upfront each time a request is made on our end and a working relationship has been established.
Art style must be similar to our current artist. Doesn’t have to match perfectly but it can’t look too out of place in the game. A full portfolio of examples can be seen here and here
Must be over 18 and ok with doing NSFW art, including fetishes and taboo topics. (Hard Bondage, Dub-con, Non-con.) Nothing illegal will be requested and the majority of the darker scenes are part of flashbacks and lore-building. If you are uncomfortable with something, we can usually accommodate and have our current artist work on that piece instead.
Must be capable of splitting artwork into sprite sheet layers and providing work in PSB format. We’re developing the game in Unity and PSBs allow us to directly drop the file into the engine and begin the animation process. This is an example of a character portrait, each piece is a separate layer in Photoshop/ClipStudio, etc Example
Must be ok with work being edited after completion on our end when it goes into the game. Sometimes we forget a character’s specific features or change a plot detail that ends up needing to be changed in the art. Visual effects such as color correction, lighting, particles, and animations are made with the provided artwork, causing it to change slightly from the completed work. Dokucchi, our current artist, will usually do edits to the art itself if we fail to request it during the time spent on the work.
Must be ok with granting commercial use licensing for the artwork. The art will be used in the game but occasionally we need to use it for screenshots, banners, progress log posts and social media marketing. Please make sure your offered rates reflect this.
We’re flexible with turnaround time as long as it’s reasonable and there’s open communication about delays.
No AI art. This includes things like AI textures.
This is long-term work, expected to be around 2 years of periodical requests.
Art requests may not be consecutive depending on what we need for the game at each phase of development. Since we’re a small team of two, we’re juggling many things and sometimes we need a bit of time between commission requests to either gather funds, develop a part of the game, or prepare the instructions for the next art piece.
Some art may need to be under an NDA until the game’s release, but we’re fine with the artwork being used in personal portfolios if it is not.
References from people you’ve worked with in the past are appreciated but not necessary.
Contract will be provided.
Please send portfolios, rates and any questions you may have to contact.tentakero@gmail.com. We’ll likely provide a response within a week or two depending on how things go.
Thanks for your time!
