Okay… so, editing for lore correctness and Grammarly checking cost me around three days or so, and around 2,500 words per day.  It slows me down, but I think it makes the chapters better.  Not so much the fact that my use of commas is apparently all over the place, but in terms of weird ass sentences via Dragon Naturally Speaking, missing words, and so forth.

Anyway, it is time to end the Ranma poll.  Yes, that means Death’s Avenger is done.  It’s a medium sized chapter, and covers the total of the summary, which is good.  It is off to the editors, Tomon and Alex Crate.  Alex already, after a single day, got it back to me, but I will wait for a bit to see if Tomon can look it over for me.  And Tomon, if you are listening, remember you don’t have to edit for details!  Just lore check.  Don’t look at the light, my dude!  LOL.

Now to the actual poll results:

In last place, which is honestly no surprise, is Heroes of the high Seas.  I thought it would do better over on fanfic, but it only brought in 17 there, and, well…. Very few of you are pure MHA fans, so in comparison to more established stories, it will probably keep losing. It’s total was only 577.

In second place, with 566 from the 1/4  (QUARTER) brought over from the carry over effect, is Gods and Devils and Wild Horses, Oh My, of 2,345. It brought in 38 votes from fanfic.  Interesting.

But in first place, with only 55 votes from fanfic and no help from me or the carry over, is Stallion of the Line.  A total of 2,368.

NICE.  Really close, really good, and a sign that the quarter carry over is the way to go. It helps fics who haven’t won, but it also can still be overcome by the voters.  Excellent.  So the question now is, should I keep going with the quarter into the next month, or just take the Ranma poll out for the month and update GDWHOM because if I carry over a thousand plus votes by going with my original plan of upping the carry over back to half and remove Heroes, shifting that back over to the patron only poll, then it is going to win hands down.  I will be interested to see what you all think of that issue.

I'm going to be honest, I voted for Stallion to increase the odds of GDWHOM losing. Rather than because it was my first choice. So I'd have been just as happy if GDWHOM didn't get a boost from the carry over effect. I voted against the carry over effect as a whole, since any story that needs it is effectively just stealing story time from the content the majority really want to see. Admittedly, I love a few of your less popular stories, but the fact I do doesn't change the fact that they are less popular stories *shrug*.

Ranma_Leopard

Id love to see GDWHOM get updated but that's just me

So in other words you nerfed the carryover into uselessness? Got it. If you are going to reduce its effect to one-fourth then consider stacking the carryovers in subsequent months after it loses until it wins. Otherwise just get rid of it and cycle the fics because I can guarantee that if I go more than two months with nothing to read, I'll cancel my Patreon support because my 12 votes apparently isn't enough to really matter on many of the fics I read.

Questara

My only issue is that while I love most of your work, I (who am definitely in the minority) formally detest One Piece. I have tried all of your crossovers, and just can't get into the universe.

Gilorad

i like heroes of the high sea but i like Stallion more

I'm not as bad as Questara, but I've never voted for a One Piece themed story since I started putting money in to show my support. I realize that also puts me in the minority, and I'm not going to stop supporting due to those stories getting some of your time, but if it takes the carryover to keep those in the minority getting other Ranma stories semi regularly, then by all means keep doing it, or admit that it's required and do something specific, like Stallion, Stallion, GDWHOM, Stallion, Stallion, GDWHOM, HHS, Stallion, Stallion, GDWHOM, Stallion, Stallion, GDWHOM, HHS, repeat until Stallion completes

Er… that is what I say above. That the carryover will go up to half again if it doesn’t work. My question was if I should just update the fics that don’t win for two months. Honestly, I hope I can get back to four fics so that I can push at least Filfy and making waves to completion

vimesenthusiast

My answer to this is… Luffy. It is his silliness which is my largest problem with the canon

im still not really sold on the new carryover, and anyways, i'd rather you just choose one fic a month to write yourself (possibly with the single restriction that the you cannot choose the same fic twice in a row) and ditch the 100 personal votes, it'd allow you to write a passion project or 2 while still giving the patrons 2 out of the 3 fics they voted for (in addition to making a smaller following happy if the smaller fic is the author's pick of the month)

I wouldn't mind Heroes getting a win, but currently enjoy GDWHOM as it has more 'momentum' in that there are more chapters.

Same here. Heroes might be something to focus more heavily on after Stallion is finished, tbh. It's still fertile ground on the One Piece side, and One Piece is going into a very information dense part of its lifecycle, so letting Stallion take the brunt of missing information, in exchange for allowing Heroes to later have a more solid foundation to build on for a long-term story probably wouldn't be the worst idea.
