Okay guys, first of all, as I hinted at before, FILFy Teacher is not going to be updated this month.  I have it nearly done, but there's no chance of me getting it off to a beta reader by tommorrow.  Instead I will make it a large story update in January, along with Horse for the Force.  That means there will be two polls posted tomorrow for January dealing with the small story and the patron only story.  

I will be posting another sort of opinion poll and Chapter 1 of Heroes of the High Seas before midnight tomorrow.  An Aunt's Touch will also be up by tomorrow, and should be around 20,000 words or so for my Ranma fans.

Unfortunately, it looks as if Making Waves will not be updated by the end of the month. I sent it off to justlovereaadin' but he has been sick and unable to work on it.  Since he has been a major contributor and his changes effect the chapter a great deal, I do not want to update the story without his input.  He has said he might have it to me by Wednesday, and if he does, i will post it on New Years Day.  If not, I will wait and send it off to Hiryo before posting.  

Sorry guys and gals, I just neglected to think of how long finalizing the political talk in Magic would take.  It took me a week to get that part right, without working very much on anything else.  That, the size of the Heroes Chapters and losing two Sundays in a row, yeah.  No wonder I didn't hit my target number of stories this month.  

Now with my apologies out of the way, I present to you the first ever "Vimesenthusiast would you ever..." thread!   

Here you may ask questions or wonder about additions to specific stories.  You can ask 'why did you do so and so...' or even 'i like so and so, can you do this'.  You may also ask about specific types of stories you would like me to write.  Note i said types, I think we covered the idea of other fandoms before LOL.  

Ask away my friends and fellow fanfic lovers.  Let me see what is in those beautiful minds of yours.

1) Any other Sci Fi fics that you are contemplating that is not Star Wars? 2) Ever considered using FSN/FGO abilities/NoblePhantasm in your stories? Some of those scenes in other fics are epic. 3) Will Boa be part of the crew or harem for any of your One Piece stories.

Since my birthday was yesterday and I decided to get very deep in my cups as a reward to myself. My question is simple what is your opinion of pineapple pizza? O and a secondary question do you prefer Ranma to have to gender swap or to not have the gender swap? Due to multiple stories with and without the gender swap is it easier or harder to write a story with or without said swap? And what is your favorite Ranma story you have written so far? Sorry in advance if this is not pertaining to your question like I said quite deep in my cups Kampai!

Hello Vim! Hope you've had a great holiday season and I'd like you to pass on my thanks to your Beta readers as well. You've all done such awesome work over the last few years. It has honestly been a treat to be able to read these stories. That said here are my questions. 1) What is your opinion of the story/lore of Horizon: Zero Dawn? 2) What is your opinion of the fanfiction stories that deal with OC's as main character when it is 'demanded' by the source (i.e. Dark Souls, Warframe, Fallout 3, etc.)? 3) What is your opinion of other Fanfiction author's work? Do you like the works of Bubbajack? Freedom Guard's work before his passing? dogebertcarroll or Rorschach's Blot? 4) Have you ever read or attempted to read the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan or The Elenium and The Tamuli by David Eddings? What is your opinion of them?

Ranma taking Naofumi's place in Shield Hero would be very interesting, would Ranma's Ki attacks and Martial arts skils be considered "weapons"? How would Ranma's curse be handled?

Would you ever make some crazy omake with all/most of your characters meeting against some ultimate villain or their league? Could be even just all the Ranmas you got, or all Harry Potters :) I guess kinda similar to spider-verse even if my idea doesn't came from it (just a well known example/similar thing)

1. Well, I wrote up a Starcraft/Warhammer 40K teaser. Expanse looks like it would be interesting, but not something I could do casually. Space Battleship Yamato/Ranma was one I thought of that could be a lot of fun. Dirty Pair/Ranma has been done a few times, but I feel could be really interesting if done right. There's my Macross cross to go back to when one of my SW fics finish, and my ME/Ranma cross too. 2. YES. I have considered it, specifically for FILFy and GDWHOM. I have even thought about a Ranma/FSN crossover. 3. Um... eventually in a way in Stallion. She won't fully join until the dissolution of the Shichibukai, but her crew will be the second to become allies of the Straw Hats after Bon Clay. In the other, it might actually happen sooner, if I can get the timeline right. In either case, her character will stay the same for the most part, so don't expect it to be a smooth integration LOL.

(Do you guys get notifications when I respond like this? I don't when someone responds to my response so I'm wondering) Yes. I could easily see Ranma paired with Belldandy or Urd. Urd has been done a few times, but I can't think of one where he's paired with Belldandy off the top of my head, but either could be fun. In fact if I go along with my plan of making the Ranma in Stallion a dimensional hopping trouble shooter, it is almost inevitable that Ranma will be paired with one or the other i nthe end.

Pineapple pizza is a travesty. Sorry, not my cup of tea. LOL As to the gender swap... I think Ranma can survive without it obviously. I think Ranma is made of four parts: His martial arts skills, his curse, his general attitude toward life and his general denseness towards yet somehow magnetic attraction of women. Have any three, and you have Ranma. It is actually harder to write with the gender swap - making certain his gender in any one scene is correct is often hard. You also have to think about how people would react to the curse if exposed. Favorite story? Hmm... I would say Horse for the Force or Anything Goes Game Changer. Can't really narrow it down since I love all my stories LOL.

1) have you ever considered doing a ranma/harry potter crossover? 2) are you planning on giving any of the crew a devil fruit that they did not possess in one piece such as giving nami the lighting fruit or sanji the invisible fruit? 3) are you planning on adding more non canon additions to the crew? 4) what do you think about a crossover with early dragonball or would that get to insane?

Hmm... you mean like gathering them all together and having them face off against some uber-God? Uh... probably not. It would be very hard to have them all act differently from one another to be discernible as different characters.

Pretty much what was said here and hence just a omake or one shot story. And while your versions of Ranmas are often similar just them comparing notes and subtly trying to be the best Ranma in the room.. Hilarious :-D

They could be against some ultimate God like villain who had enough of the chaos. Heh it could be even some God of Order. Or against an evil team be it their antagonist or even evil version etc. Or at first they may not even know the reason why they were all pulled here by the weird portal along with their LI or even friends

Also I think you underestimate how the different setting(worlds) shaped each of them. Just imagine GoT Ranma standing beside the one from Star Wars. Heh, there might not even be a bad guy. Just some chaos God screwing up when trying to summon the canon Ranma to a new settings for his own needs /amusement. And then all the others with similar experiences smacking him for all the trouble :-D PS: I hate patreon on mobile

Oh and also. Having them act similar is half the fan. "HEY! That's my line!" kind of thing ;-) But otherwise yeah. A lot of recognition for readers needs to be done by specific names based on their worlds

1:) have you ever considered using firefly/cowboy bebop as crossover locations for either harry or ranma. 2:) I notice in most of your works the "traditional" allies of harry are either irrelevant due to circumstance of plot (ATP) or regulated to side roles by crossover characters (FILFY) just wondering if this is because you dislike those characters or just because you're trying to focus on the crossover elements of the story.

From reading an early reply, have you considered a HP/FSN cross? It's one of those crossovers I see a lot, but they are almost universally dreadful.

I suppose in a way a lot of my fics could be called Ranma goes Isekai LOL. As for specifics... there are a few manga ones that haven't been made into animes yet I might consider. Shield Hero... yeah that could work. As for how I'd treat his curse - probably I would have people react very poorly at first, pushing Ranma into a case of total "FUCK EM ALL" mentality. Eventually he'd come to grips with the fact that hating other people isn't any more healthy than hating the curse in the first place. I would not consider his ki or martial arts weapons. I would consider them almost cheat codes in this new world.

1. I liked it well enough. Can't say I am a big fan of Terminator-esque plot lines, but it certainly made sense given the reality of the time. Personally i think the moment humanity decides that using killer droids of any type should replace actual soldiers is a sign of the apocalypse LOL. If you're asking me about if i'd write a story set in that world... no. Probably not. If I wanted to go into another mecha-world, I'd use Zoids Genesis. Loved that anime for the most part. 2. They can be okay. Not my cup of tea to read or write, since they can all too easily go into the whole wish fullfillment/ self insert crud. 3. I like Twice Inheritor by Bubbajack, haven't read anything else from him yet. Liked some of doge's work. RB is hilarious most of the time. 4. Attempted to read Wheel of Time. Hated it - the POV changes were just wrong, there were far too many times I just wanted to shake characters and tell them to man up or tell the women pull the stick out of your rears! Did read the Elenium and the Tamuli. When I was younger I liked it. Now... not so much. The characters are still great, but I have moved away from the idea of having a god basically direct everything the main characters do even if she is a cute little girl who does it through cuddling. A gilded cage is still a cage, and I would rather be free of all such.

See this is a tough question. While I can write female Ranma and female love interests well enough, I do not think I could write a story with a character who is female 100% of the time LOL. I am not comfortable with the idea of writing a female lead who is attracted to a guy, so I would make her a lesbian, and I am uncertain how well i could do woman/woman romance. Ranma is, after all, a guy in his head regardless of his body. Sorry.

1. I have been asked this question several times. The answer is yes I've thought of it, but I have shied away from it. They are VERY different protagonists, and how they would interact/change the stories around them are very different. It would be very hard to imagine them as co-equals, so I would have a situation like in Wild Wolf, where Jon was very much a secondary main character to Ranma. I just don't think I could do the idea justice. 2. Yes. Can't answer more for fear of spoilers. If you don't mind them, pm me the question and I will share more. 3. Yes. I would also like to have Jinbei be part of the crew for a large portion of time rather than have him go off and do his own thing. 4. Early dragonball is a possibility, but of the girls, I like 18 most of all, so I'd have to do something to get her involved.

1. Firefly for Ranma, Harry's been done far too well there for me to want to follow. Cowboy Bebop, no. Outlaw Star I did at one point LOL. 2. I like Tonks, Hermione, Luna, Fred and George. I can't say I like Ron, and I feel Ronmione is a travesty of our time. I also think Dumbledore is either freaking senile or manipulative. However in FILFY Hermione and Luna, along with a few others, will be making a showing soon.

Have you read any of Simon R. Green or Jim Butcher's works? Harry or Ranma raised by either of their "main" characters would be interesting. (Ranma raised by Hawk and Fisher (Simon R. Green) could be hilarious...) Or Harry "kidnapped" by Molly Metcalf and then raised by her and Eddie...

Fics of this nature are universally bad because the magical systems in these universes are largely incompatible. I have thought of it, but the world of the Magus is not a fun one. I would need to change Harry so much he would barely be Harry to fit him into that world, so a 'baby Harry abandoned' fic would be the way to go. And those can get really annoying to write. So this would be a no.

I have not gotten into the Dresden books, though I enjoyed the Codex Alera books. Simon R green... um the deathstalker books right? Yeah... no. Sorry.

Deathstalker was his first series. His other series are much better and aren't really scifi like Deathstalker was. He has something like three or four other series some of which are similar to the Dresden series while another is best described as a husband and wife PI "team" set in a magical medieval "hive of scum and villainy" except they're technically part of the city guard. They're often referred to as the only non-corrupt guards in the city.

This is more of a request then a question. Is it possible to compile a story summary in patreon? You pretty much already have all of it when you do your chapter polls, you just need to compile them all into 1 comprehensive post. Reason for this is, since you write so many stories, sometimes it's months before I read a story again n sometimes I just don't remember all the stories.

Another question and story concept. Did you ever pondered such idea? Of course there is your Highschool of the Dead/Ranma story, but I mean more original tale, instead of adding a character(s) to that story line :) So pretty much everything is subject to change, but something along the lines of this following concept: Harry Potter world at some time of canon timeline (or even after it with Harry being fully trained adult wizard) encounter a world apocalypse. The story itself it set up after it all happens and a new 'order' (more like lack of it) is kinda established. Magic is now known to the vast majority of survivors but no one truly cares. A lot of people are glad to have it on their side. Other of course distrust the magic users. Opinions vary, but they have a bigger thing to worry about. (Unless the apocalypse was magical in origin, then they may be forced to hide their abilities). Harry as a true survivor is still kicking. He can even be be leader or main/secret protector of some community/group. A lot of known characters died, or are just lost to our story protagonist(s). The 'I though you were dead!' can be used as well :) The apocalypse itself is not set it stone, could be a lot of things a) Dragons and similar world to that of movie 'Reign of Fire'. Either by some sleeping dormant race, or the HP dragons getting out of control, maybe some new breed that can reproduce really fast and wizard underestimating it. b) Some Kaiju/Big aliens monster/Another Dimension beast/etc attack (Pacific Rim, Evangelion, Bleach type Hollows matearilazing into our world and so on kind of settings) c) Dormant/underground/hidden race or true alien invasion (such as Locust from Gears of War, vampire society unknown to even wizards deciding that their food source expansion is getting out of hands, Or even something from Blue Gender / Starship troopers. Possibly even Alien (xenomorph) like creatures or some kind of species that reproduces eithet via human host or human conversion) d) Some ancient seal/law/etc being broken allowing either demon invasion or something similar. Possibly also freeing some super dangerous beings (Opened Purgatory full of monsters, for example from Supernatural universe) e) Disease/virus scenario - killing most humans, turning the rest into something (but can't be baseline zombies, too easy to deal with, when you have magic with wards, In such scenario it would have to be very soon into the HP canon with Harry only having very base magic available and the disease somehow offing all the capable adult wizards in the world). Depending on when the apocalypse would happen you could limit or increase the knowledge Harry has at his disposal. I think it would be preferable if he had at least some books or means for bettering himself further and expanding what he knows. He also doesn't have to be alone, but there shouldn't be too many survivors from his usual circles. If he was also some leader or prominent figure of some community the story may not even start from his PoV but instead that of someone else. Probably someone who knows him a little and can grow in her (or his) abilities further down into the story. Maybe someone like Daphne? Said person (or their group) could be saved by Harry and brought to the community so we could get a introduction along with them. Magic can be used freely or may be limited. For example the danger they're facing is actually capable of locating or are even lured to a places with high magic usage. There might be a wards capable of hiding even itself and magic being used inside but only to some extent. Storyline other than surviving, leading the community, relationship between characters can be focused on: a) Protecting against other threats (because humans just have the need to remain dangerous to each other even when the world is ending all around them). b) Gathering means to continue living (Food, clear water, things that are needed and so on) c) Actually actively defending against the big threat out there. Especially if the remaining humans are actively being hunted (depends on the type of apocalypse) d) Trying to find some way to reverse/fix the damage. Or at least end the threat so the world can be rebuild There are many options and way to takes such tale. But my post is already way longer than I intended. But apocalypse and what if scenarios are among my favourites :)

Yeah, something like this or Fallout kind of settings should be part of the story. Still I think if you give magic to the survivors, you need also something else to up the scale than just survival and civilization revival :) Even if this would be a very integral and interesting part

Um, I did come up with a HP/HOTD crossover concept. But other than that... I don't know. I am not a big fan of apocalypse-type scenarios except on the small immediately after scale, and even then I have to like the characters.

I know I'm jumping on the bandwagon here a bit late, but I did make note that you expressed yourself a fan of Wonder About Zero (thank you for pointing it out, BTW) and that you wanted to eventually work that Ramna,/ZnT crossover. Is that still one of your projects under consideration going forward?

It would be if I didn't have so many ongoing crossovers as it was, and then other story teaser ideas people enjoyed more and so on... in others words, I would love to get to it, but unless I somehow discover the cloning technique there is no way I will ever be getting to it anytime soon.
