Once more it has come, the time to ask questions of my patrons about things large and small, LOL. Yes, I am having trouble figuring out how to start these posts without repeating myself LOL.

Anyway, this time most of these questions deal with where a few of my stories should go from here. And as always, these questions will be broken up by which story they deal with.

First a Patreon type general questions:

1.  I had a hell of a time getting back into writing Semblance. I enjoyed it once I did (the banter you can have with those characters is great) but remembering what had occurred before and where I wanted to take the story was hard. I put this down to how long it had been since the story was updated last. I mean it has been nearly a year since it was updated! Worse, in that time as all of you know I’ve tried numerous plans in order to both keep the current poll framework (one patron-only, one large story, one small story with an added small story possible) and get it and AGGC updated. It didn’t work. So now it is time to get a bit more radical. I want to know what people would think about removing the Large story poll every four months so that one of these two stories which are the closest to being finished of all my stories (judging by how many chapters) can be updated regularly.

Now, for Stallion of the Line type questions:

1. What should be done with the Lightning Lightning Fruit? My initial thought was to have Raffy have it, but not use it often unless he had to, but I’ve been astonished by how many people have mentioned that Nami should have it over in reviews of the latest chapter. I think they are missing her personality entirely in that assessment, but I’m interested in seeing what people think. Would Enel’s DF give Ranma too much power?

2. Its time for Nami to step up her game for the captain’s heart. My question is, is she the type of girl to go for a slow seduction to worm her way into his affections, or would she go for broke, and just try to jump him the instant he’s cleared for *ahem* strenuous activities?

3. Going into this fic, I decided there was no F-ing chance of my doing the Davy Back Fight madness. But I am wondering if the Foxy Pirates are interesting enough opponents that you would want to read how this revamped deal with them without the stupid game-like atmosphere of the DBF.

A character-specific question for Semblance of Hope:

(Yes I can ask this without spoiling the chapter that will be updated this month)

1. What is everyone’s opinion of Raven Branwen? From what I’ve seen, she’s more than a bit of a bitch, a thief, bandit, and murderer with possibly the only redeeming quality being that she cares for Yang’s life. I’m just wondering what everyone else thinks, because if she runs into Ranma as is...

Two questions for Bhaalson Remodel:

1. How did everyone like the dungeon mechanics? The respawning thing, the Heart Stones and the dungeon boss?

2. And this is more of a specific question: Has anyone played the Dynaheir romance mod? I don’t think she’s going to be a love interest, but I’d like to know how the romance played out to get a better handle on her character. I only played all the way through with her once (I sucked in a lot of my run-throughs in keeping my mages alive…) so I don’t have as good a handle of her character as I would like.

Once again, thanks for helping me to answer these questions, and I hope that you all are staying safe and healthy in this time of turmoil.

Stallion of the Line 1 I don’t think Raffy at all needs a devil fruit, I like the idea of him going through on his pure martial skill alone and its jest more boost to Raffy who does not really need it to fight powerful enemies. I also quite like the idea of Nami getting it since I think she can do so much more with the fruit then jest zapping everyone, like an improved version of her weather manipulation. 2 I think Nami might be the type of person to jest jump right in once she works herself up to it 3 i don’t think Foxy would be an all that interesting fight for the crew though I am rather curious on how you would revamp the whole thing. Perhaps Foxy could be an interesting opponent for Buggy and Usopp

Clarence Grant

Give nami the devil fruit. You already set raffy up as someone not willing to deal with them by not giving him the gum gum fruit. Besides weather is nami's domain and best utilised by her. Yes foxy pirates in my opinion a little levity and silliness is needed all the time.

Alamar Xandal

Stallion of the Line 1. I think that the goro goro no mi would actually clash with Raffy's style more than add to it. I also do feel it would make him a bit op, as it's just a ridiculously powerful fruit. 2. I think Nami would go for broke 3. I would like to see the Davy Black Fight, however I think it should be kept short and sweet like it was in them manga as opposed to how the anime dragged it out way too long. Have just a couple of games with the whole anything goes vibe and be done with it. Feels like it would make a good cool down after the big fight we just read.

Stallion of the Line question; 1. I don't really see anyone on the crew eating the fruit. The Devil Fruits are an easy power-up that has a terrifyingly huge downside on a planet that's mostly ocean, and for sailors and pirates in particular. With access to Ranma's training for the Rokushiki AND Haki...They just plain don't need the devil fruits powers. It pretty much would just mean they acquire a large weakness, and take time away from training aforemention Rokushiki and Haki that, at the higher levels, would serve perfectly well not only at boosting their own power, but in countering any enemies they come across. 2. I could see Nami TRYING to go for the swift attempt at jumping his bones, especially since she's aware of how many others that are eyeing him, however I don't see her doing so smoothly or successfully. Especially if she doesn't have any sexual experience herself in this story (I can't remember at the moment). 3.I'm not too invested in seeing the Foxy pirates, but I genuinely enjoy your writing so I'd be fine with reading whatever you do to them.

vtStarflux

I only have an opinion on Stallion of the Line for now: 1. What should be done with the Lightning Lightning Fruit? -- I think Raffy could have it easily considering the future fights he might be in and I could see some really interesting things happening. Nami could only be considered because of her "weather" theme already but I just don't see her with a Logia Fruit ability. 2. Its time for Nami to step up her game for the captain’s heart. My question is, is she the type of girl to go for a slow seduction to worm her way into his affections, or would she go for broke, and just try to jump him the instant he’s cleared for *ahem* strenuous activities? -- I don't think she would go for broke. She's usually a pretty cautious character and even with the amazing character development I just don't see that changing at this time. 3. Going into this fic, I decided there was no F-ing chance of my doing the Davy Back Fight madness. But I am wondering if the Foxy Pirates are interesting enough opponents that you would want to read how this revamped deal with them without the stupid game-like atmosphere of the DBF. -- I have no opinion on this one.

Alastor God of Vengeance

1 I'd say give the fruit to Raffy, Nami is already well on her way to weather witch and it could make for some interesting fights and training to have Raffy shoot lightning at Nami only for her to redirect and use it 2 that is a tough one since while Nami is certainly bold enough to jump him she also seems like the type to enjoy romance so not sure there and 3 no chance in hell would Raffy agree to a Davy Back fight, he may have pride but there's nothing to gain and pretty much everyone on the crew could take out the entire Foxy Pirates. For Raven while she has very cool powers and fighting ability her mentality is stupid, very self destructive and ultimately doomed once one of the governments or Salem finally got tired of her and wiped out the tribe. With Ranma being very pro life and a guardian I would definitely enjoy seeing a fight between those two.

Kariston Draconis

Here's my personal thoughts: Patreon Questions: 1. Do it. Making Waves: 1. Give it to Raffy. I thought that was the obvious plan here. 2 & 3. No ideas here, don't read/watch One Piece. Semblance: 1. I'd agree with your assessment of Raven somewhat, though I'd add that she's something of a coward, somewhat self-centered, and often doesn't think things completely through, though she will show what appears to be genuine remorse about things she did even as she's trying to justify them, such as when she murdered the previous Spring Maiden. All that being said, since you've already broken with several stations in canon, write her however you think makes the story better. I have nothing to say on Bhalspawn, you know my feelings towards your non-Ranma stuff.

Jeff

Stallion of the line 1. I wouldn’t give it to anyone in the crew personally. Raffy would be OP and while Nami could use it without her climatat*? I don’t think it would fit her very well. Not sure where your taking her combat wise but her spewing lightning without her clouds doesn’t work for me. 1.B. Alternatively it could be the wrong fruit. Ganfals Pegasus could die and it could be his fruit Robin found. Hina could be the good marine and report they have it. Someone is dispatched CP9? To retrieve it and Robin kicking of Ennis Lobby. I can picture Spandam being victories biting/giving some one the fruit and then BAM that dumbass purple abomination. I think that would fit in with one piece comedy. 2. I think if Nami actually had a libido she would try to jump him, that said she is the selfish type so that could screw over any team dynamics going forward. 3. I feel it should still be said Cannon Ranma would jump on the DBF in a heartbeat. This Ranma definitely not. Foxy was the only one with a DF from what I remember (besides Kuzan showing up this is my least favorite arc) and his use of it wasn’t really all that impressive. If you really want a fight you could have the straw Hats steal a ship to get all the way to water 7. With those 2? Fish men giants they would need multiple ships. As for the other two stories I was never a fan of RWBY so I dropped Semblance of Hope. But one of the reasons i didn’t like Rwby was Raven just a bitch being a bitch going on about the strong and whatnot anime level of dumb. Never read the other one

Tellemicus Sundance

Stallion 1) I feel that Ranma should hold the fruit in reserve. Yes, he did get his ass kicked by Enel, but Ranma and the others could also use that as some major motivation to train that much harder in order to not get so badly beaten again. So, let Ranma hold onto the fruit for a while and, if things continue to escalate and he NEEDS the extra power, THEN have him eat it. And while I can somewhat see where the others are coming from with having Nami eat it, I also agree with you in that it doesn't really suit her nearly as well as they seem to think. Stallion 2) I think that Nami might initially start off with trying to jump his bones as soon as he's deemed able. But if he doesn't respond well to it (which is what I suspect will happen), I could also see her very quickly playing it off as teasing and flirting. A bit of goodnatured 'bullying' in order for her to express her gratitude, 'punish him' for worrying her so badly, and to show that she's once again interested in him. After that, she'd settle in for the 'slow' seduction. And given how well they know each other now, I can't imagine it taking too overly long now. Stallion 3) Eh, I'll leave that up to your discretion. You've yet to disappoint me. Semblance 1) I think that Raven is a self-centered bitch who believes that only SHE knows what's best in the world. She won't listen to anyone but herself or 'her people'. That the only right way is her way. And that she's an ABSOLUTE FOOL for taking the actions she has in canon! I mean, seriously? Stealing the power of one of the Maidens? Trying to also steal one of the artifacts that Ozpin hid away? If she was TRULY trying to either A) hide away from Salem's notice and/or B) have a bargaining chip to sway 'negotiations' to her favor, then she should've NEVER taken the Maiden's power OR tried to steal the lamp! All she was doing was basically ATTRACTING the attention of the forces she was apparently trying to hide from!! I mean, seriously?! How impossibly stupid and self-centered can you get?! So, yeah, that's MY opinion on the bitch.

Matthew Williams

Regarding Stalion of the Line: 1. I say save the fruit but none of the current crew eats it. Neither Raffy nor Nami; give it to FRANKY. Imagine the creativity available to him witu electrical powers. Being mostly cyborg/metal, the fruit doesn't actually work for him and only his biological components are effected directly. You couldbtwist it so that this forces him to come up with new weapons/systems designs to make use of the power. 2. I think Nami, with her sexual inexperience and youth, would TRY for the slow seductive approach. She has the flirting skills from her time as a pirate theif to rely on. However, I imagine it would fall flat to a degree. So, then she'd try for tue bold, direct approach. But again, her inexpeirence would cause nerves to flare up and make her stumble. I think you could make an interesting dynamic work from this, and also have it be a point of personal growth for her as well. Help develop her character in a dimension not really explored much hitherto. 3. I'm not invested in the Davy Black Fight or the Foxy Pirates, but they could be useful as a measiring stick for the weaker members. A means towards an end--that being testing their progress in certain skills they'd work on between Skypiea and Water 7.

Lavick Vell

General: 1. I'd be fine with you doing that. Stallion: 1. I'd rather see Raffy get it. Nami isn't a fighter, so if she got it, I imagine she would end up using it in almost every fight. That fruit is so powerful that she'd end up steam rolling over most enemies. At least with Raffy he wouldn't use it often. 2. I could see Nami just jumping him. Especially after such an emotional situation. 3. Ive always hated the Davy Back Arc, so I'd be happy with them not even existing.

Agent Frank

Regarding Stallion of the Line, 1. I think the initial idea of having Ranma eat it could work but you would definitely have to change some of the future story arcs because of it's potential boost in strength. I think there are two ways to go about it. The first, you can have Ranma decide that he will eat it sometime in the future, with the reasoning that he needs to use this time to focus on his haki rather than divide his focus on adjusting to a whole other facet of abilities. Then you could have him eat it in a scenario where he knows he's overmatched and needs that edge. Even someone inexperienced with their DF would get a decent power up from it. The other option is to have him consume it now, have some real issues getting a handle on it, at least enough that it's not too much of a powerup by Enies Lobby. This way if you decide to buff up Lucci's abilities to compete (hypothetically) with Ranma it's still believable. Though for Thriller Bark, you would probably need to either give Moria a complete make over, maybe in this scenario he didn't deteriorate in strength as much as he did originally, (Given how him and his crew fought a young Kaido). Or Zoro could face Moria while Luffy faces someone a lot more formidable like Kuma. Actually nvm, I just remembered that Luffy actually know his dad here. But yeah those are a few ideas. I hadn't considered the Nami idea but yeah while it would be a cool twist and you could probably pull it off it wouldn't line up with how her character is right now. But yeah i definitely wouldn't mind that. 2. Honestly not sure, I can see her doing both. She has the confidence to go for broke but it might be tempered by Luffy's current relationship with Robin so slow and steady might be the way. Or she might want to pounce before they're already established. Hard to say. 3. You might as well skip it. I didn't mind it in the show but it would be hard to take it seriously. If you want a solid but small transition arc you could probably adapt one of the movies but I doubt you'll need one.

Scott

Stallion of the line: 1. I dislike the idea of giving Raffy the fruit. Right now there is already a significant gap in combat ability between him and the rest of the crew. Giving him the fruit at this stage would be overkill and would basically make Zoro and Sanji's combat abilities useless unless they received some kind of upgrade beyond what you've already given them. I'm also not sure that a person CAN "not use it often" with regards to a logia. If this was just about giving him the power to use lightning offensively I would probably support it, but in order to not use it he would have to allow the enemy to land blows that he could otherwise ignore (not every opponent will have haki). In your stories, Ranma's close combat skills have always been his most important fighting skill regardless of his other abilities. Eating the fruit would put those skills on the backburner no matter how much you tried not to. I like the idea of him either not getting a fruit (my preference), or getting one that plays to his existing strengths (close combat). As far as Nami eating the fruit, I agree with your implied statement. Eating the fruit would make her a front line fighter, and I don't think that jives with her personality. If you do give her a fruit (big if), I like the idea of her getting a seemingly useless fruit, but using her knowledge of weather somehow to use it in some really impressive and unexpected ways. I think that would make more sense. I've always preferred seeing someone do more with something that seems weaker, then do less with something that is obviously powerful. To be perfectly honest, i'm sort of turned off to the idea that they can get the devil fruit so easily in the first place. If it was that easy to do, then the world government would execute any pirates they had captured with devil fruits (at least powerful ones) so they could claim them for the navy instead of locking them up. Someone like crocodile would never have been put in prison if that was the case. Semblance of Hope: 1. If you keep her personality in line with canon, then I see her as someone who believes that might makes right. That the strong have the right to take what they want from the weak (she is a bandit after all). You have always shown Ranma as someone who believes that the purpose of gaining strength is it use it to protect those weaker then you. I think the two would clash horribly because of this, although Raven would probably respect Ranma's strength. That said, she's a pretty minor character in the show and she hasn't appeared yet, so I wouldn't have any problem with it if you adjusted her personality a little so that they could get along better like you did with Cersei in Wild Wolf.

Stallion 1: what about giving the fruit to Makino? Raffy is already powerful and has the will to improve himself directly. Nami has stated multiple times she prefers to run away, and giving her a crutch of a powerful devil fruit would hurt her character development. On the other hand, Makino knows she is the weakest crew member, has the lowest physical cap, and if she wants to remain relevant to future battles she needs a leg up. Giving her a powerful logia type devil fruit would help improve her self worth and she would probably use the fruit more interestingly than Raffy would. Raffy would use it in combat to equalize and exterminate. And I think Makino, using it in the morning to warm up her tea or add a gold filigree/inlay to a message to make it more official looking, would have more fun with it.

Chris

Since RWBY is the only one that I know anything about, I'll just say this about Raven - She's strong, she's ruthless, she cares to a point about Yang, but she's a coward. For all her physical strength (she has proven to be one of the most powerful combatants introduced in the series), she has no backbone to her. Once you get to an enemy she cannot overpower, where she may be forced to give her life to fight, she cannot make that sacrifice play. She will not enter a fight where she has the chance of dying, she will run from that fight. Her and Ranma seem to be a lot alike. Both powerful combatants, both at the top of the list for power players in the world of Remnant, both Maidens. The key difference lies in their mental strength. Raven cannot make a sacrifice play, Ranma will always make the sacrifice play. Raven cannot sacrifice herself for others, Ranma will always sacrifice himself. Honestly, as I see her, Raven is a character I don't now whether to pity or despise. I'm very interested to see how you will weave her into the story, and how interacting with Ranma will change things for her. She has SO MUCH potential for good, that she squanders by always running away from her problems.

DemonRight27

Stallion 1: I think that either giving it to Makino would be a very good idea. It would give her the firepower to keep up with the crew as they grow stronger as well as making it useful for messing with Shanks in the future. Imagining his face when he learns she has such a strong fruit is hilarious. For Raffy, I believe that playing to his strengths is the way to go. Close combat with a speed focus. Eventually having him get the more-more fruit from Brynndi World would be a good one. Or perhaps coming up with an original one. I know there is a subreddit where people post their ideas and could be a good source for some ideas. Keep up the hard work!!

Tom smith

I can only comment on stallion. Yes Nami with the lighting fruit. Yes yes. It would help massivly with navigation and controlling weather in the second half of the gl.

Alex Schubert

General 1: Yeah that sounds good

Alex Schubert

Stallion 1: I like the idea of Raffy getting the fruit as it gives him another dynamic for fights and would be very interested in seeing what you come up with. Plus with haki becoming much more prevalent as the story goes on I dont think he will be too overpowered with the fruit in the long run. 2: I feel like Nami would go for the jump him kinda approach based on her character but would fail as it would remind Ranma of his past dealings with his fiances ultimately leading to a slower approach. 3: Don't really care if you decide to write in the DBF.

TheLazyShadow

Regarding Stallion: 1: I agree with some of the above it that the DF should go to Makino as it gives her the ability to keep up with the crew and I find the idea of her chasing Shanks rind with lighting bolts. :D 2: For Nami approach I’m agreeing with Alex Schubert above in that Nami would try and rush in with an aggressive stanch and then have to rethink her plan. 3: It would be interesting/amusing to see how Ruffy’s crew handles a DBF or Foxy pirates with them all being strong and Makino replacing Usop. Regarding Stallion: 1: I have no original ideas on how to handle Raven, but agree with points laid out by: Tellemicus Sundance, Scott, and Chris.

Niva

I think the idea to remove the large story pool every few month is good and this also would give you enough time for either story. The large stories are about 40k words and with the new time window you could perhaps finish a chapter with 20k words for AGGC and Semblence. Stalion: 1. I´m a fan of Ranmas speed fighting style and we just saw in the last fight, that he can match Enel with out the DF. So I´m not for the idea to have him eat it. I would love to see him becoming a secomd Garp with out a DF and just normal skills. This would be more Ranma-like. So let him keep the fruit in Ki-space or give it to one of the other crew members. The idea with Nami eating the fruit has a lot potencial. We could see how a Logia trains to control the power. 2. After the second rescue Nami really should start to speed úp her game. She is more the seductive type so she yould try to take Ranma in a moment of weekness, like now after the fight with Enel.^^ 3. The Foxy Pirates and the DBF is not really needed, but could be used for some fun. So it´s up to you. On the other hand could this lead to the meeting with Aokiji. Semblence: Raven is a bandit like you said. If she sees somthing she fears, she will run. Like the final discussion with her daughter in the Vault. So if a meeting with Ranma happens and sees the maidens power she will mostl try to flee with her semblence. But with his speed he could follow her and take her back to Yang. This would be an interesting meeting.

I will be brief. Patreon question: Do it! Other questions: Too far behind/removed to have a meaningful opinion soooo...keep on, keepin’ on, I guess. Thanks.

Patreon 1: Yes once every four month seem fine to me, so the story don't wait too long. Stallion of the LIne 1: While I like the idea of Lighting Raffy, I'm not sure he would go for it I think he wouldn't want to rely on an external power source. But It could be really cool, so I'm not against it if you can justify it. Stallion of the LIne 2: If it wasn't a competition, she would probably go slow seduction. But with Robin already chasing Raffy, and winning, I think she would go for broke. But then the question became would Raffy respond and "cheat" on Robin ? I doubt it. Stallion of the LIne 3: Yes I would really like to see a "normal" fight against Foxy, but you're right Raffy wouldn't bet his crew member. Bhaalson Remodel 1: I already comment on that point but I got mix feeling on that part, the heart stone is fine it's interesting, the respawn was way too much and the boss fight was too much too, to many ability for the boss and the ability to continuously summon help doesn't fit for a warrior boss. For an insect queen or a mage summoner okay but not a warrior, that he get a few soldier with him at the start okay but not a continual summon thing.

Aaron Hardin

Lightning Raffy is the way to go, it fits his personality and based on the later chapters of one piece, Ranma would not become OP until he masters his devil fruit, which will take time as having his body become an element is drastically different than anything he has done before, and frankly he is reaching the point where his physical skills are not OP anymore on the grand line, plus if the Marines learn he has a logia he will likely meet an admiral shortly after, so it becomes how can he subtly use his DF in front of witnesses without letting them know, which may include taking hits a logia normally would not.

GreedOnGreed

For Semblance I would say to increase the votes by 30% for each month in the story you are most interested in. For Raven I would say to break their leg after pissing off Ranma and giving Yang his sword as a gift. As for Stallion, I would say that the fruit compliments Nami's abilities due to electromagnetism and will initially use it in more subtle ways given the world government's interest in the Logias by masking himself using weapons similar to the Climac Attac. It will help Nami get closer to Luffy as he tries to teach her Magneto's skills. I think she is repressed, greedy, impulsive and passionate. The most suitable fruit for Ranma in my opinion would be a legendary Zoan Who would improve his martial arts and his Ki or otherwise the only Logia would be that of Ace that would combine with the Ice Soul becoming much more powerful and versatile that he could use to avenge his brother. The clash against the Foxy's Pirates would be the right opportunity to bring out the Nekoken since I seem to remember that there was a leopard man in his crew. They will skip the marine base as it is almost impossible for them to land there as in the canon. But they wash themselves on the ship with sea water? Fresh water should not give problems to those who have eaten Devil Fruits otherwise they could not be in the rain. I am particularly interested in Baalsom nom as HP / TLOR.

Thomas Edwards

General Question: Personally I say go for it, there are a number of your ideas I would also like to see you get to sometime soon so having those two closest to being finished updated every 4 months at least sounds good to me. Stallion: 1. I'd rather he not eat the Lightning Fruit, it just seems like a bit of a waste to have come so far relying on his skills and becoming like another Garp/Shanks/Dragon and Rayleigh who all haven't needed a DF to get as strong as they are. Admittedly a lot of this opinion stems from reading too many fics lately that have Luffy with the Lightning fruit yet somehow having the personality and exact same skills of Enel which I can't see happening with your writing but still lol... I like the idea of Franky/Makino getting it, or even another crew member further down the line if you decide to add others not from canon. As for Nami while it would be interesting seeing how she may change the way she uses it and what she can come up with I think there is also the fact she may not want the same fruit of the person who captured her. Whatever you decide no doubt you will still make it work well. 2. I agree with what others have said, Nami will try to go for broke especially with how far along Raffy and Robin are. 3. I always felt the Foxy Pirate arc came across more as filler than the G-8 arc which was a lot more interesting to me personally. The quicker we get to water 7 the better in my opinion so would rather it either be a quick beat down that was more of a cooling down period, skipped over entirely or maybe have Buggy and crew end up facing Foxy instead. I'm really looking forward to seeing just what your version of the Straw Hats will make of Water 7 and the CP-9 agents.

Pyros51

With regards to the Logia question... yeah, that’s really going to depend on where you want Ranma to be when things kick off big time. A logia would immediately shift him up onto the highest tier in terms of combat (and while he’s probably most of the way there already with his skills, tricks, and Haki) it’d make him nearly impossible for most people to fight. If you want him in the thick of the mess fighting Admirals or other equivalents (note that both Garp and Shanks are stronger than them) then sure it might work out, but it definitely shifts him away from what his focus has been and is hardly necessary unless things go to pot much faster than in canon.

Treant Balewood

General 1. I would lean towards yes SotL 1. I think people are talking up Nami because of her depiction as a 'weather witch' particularly from 'This Bites', That said i don't really see her with a Logia right now. Im not opposed to Raffy taking it 2. 3. I enjoyed the Davy Back madness and wouldn't mind it showing up. But I wouldn't expect it would take long to blow through for this crew SoH 1. Yes sounds like you have have her to a tee. She's also abit of a coward kinda sly/cunning. I've seen her 'redeemed' in a few fics it's not impossible. Most of the good she shows up for was from before we knew anything about her character. Also at the risk of repetition she's incredibly self centered, trusted comrades used as bait and so long as she's fine the world can burn I believe its canonical that her tribe uses Grimm to soften up villages so they have an easier time killing and pillaging them they certainly don't care that that's what happens after the leave in either case. BR 1. I kinda liked it tbh i need to reread it again because i was alittle confused. I'm sure the info's there but I was more interested in reading it through then parsing the mechanics. 2.

G1: While I would prefer losing the patreon only over the large story because while I like the patreon only stories I prefer the stories on the large story poll. I can however understand that removing the monthly reward for being a patreon 3 times a year might be detrimental to the overall patreon experience so I do not mind giving up something for an "authors choice". SotL1: The Rumble-Rumble fruit is interesting because depending on how you interpret its abilities it can range from granting some literal godlike powers to being a slightly more versatile version of Kuzina’s fruit, either way it’s a major power boost to whomever eats it. Personally, I think it should go to Raffy as a secret ace in the hole for him to use when he is truly challenged. However that might trivialize most of the rest of the grand line (if he uses it actively IE like it’s a new martial art he needs to master) or have some dues ex machina problems (if he only uses it when he might seriously lose a fight) or both. I however have faith in you to be able to write a lightning man Raffy well and I do think that Raffy would probably use the fruit if for no other reason than because it gives him the best chance of completing the mission he was sent to the universe on. As to the idea of Nami taking it I can understand where they are coming from, Nami uses a lot of lightning without the fruit so why not give it to her to augment that, especially since there is no Usopp around to make her climate baton. I however do not think your version of Nami would want the fruit both because it would make her a frontline fighter and her bad experience with Enel. As an added bonus once she gets her climate baton (I assume from Franky this time), she can use it to more directly assist a lightning man Raffy with lightning and thunder clouds. SotL2: I think How Nami approaches Raffy depends on which outcome she is trying to achieve. If she’s trying to steal his heart away from Robin I think she would adopt the slow seduction approach treating Robin as a rival attempting to pull Raffy’s attention away from her and onto herself. If however she is trying to share Raffy with Robin I think she would be much more forward about it. SotL3: the Davy back fight and foxy pirate arc was the closest thing to a filler arc I have ever seen in manga. Which makes it literally an author written canonical waste of time. The only interesting thing that came out of that was the fight with Kuzan (Aokiji) which sparked the invention of second and third gear. Thus, I think that should be the focus of the foxy pirate chapter if we are going to have one not any conflict with the foxy pirates themselves. However if Raffy takes the Rumble-Rumble Fruit facing them (foxy pirates) could be a good learning fight for Raffy to get a handle on his new powers but that’s the only real use I could see for them. As to the other questions I don’t feel I’m well enough informed to provide a useful answer to them as I haven’t read semblance yet and I’m not fully caught up on bhalson. Though I might comment here again when I have read those pieces

Patreon 1. Go for it, Stallion: 1. I honestly can't give an honest opinion on this one. I think Raffy could definitely use it in the New World, but using it before Marineford or maybe Sabaody would mean he could pretty much curbstomp everyone involved, but I also think that it would be interesting to see how a martial artist (who lives and breathes hand-to-hand) would utilize a Logia (which tend to focus on enviroment manipulation and ranged combat). I will leave the final decision to you sir. 2. Nami is definitely not the type to leap in headfirst, I'd see her more as the type to build up some tension before going in for the kill. 3. I have a love-hate relationship with the Davy Back Fight. It is both one of the stupidest arc, but also a fun little distraction from the life-or-death, tension-filled arcs of Skypea and Enies Loby. I'd honestly enjoy seeing how Raffy would handle the morons. I can only imagine that it will be short, painful, and humiliating for the Split-Head. Semblance: 1. I've always seen Raven as a very self-centered character; she's more concerned with her own survival than anything else. She's kind of got this cold, logical; almost sociopathic feel to her; she looks at the odds of beating Salem, decides they're not good enough to be worth risking her neck for, and thus leaves.

Patreon: 1) As always, I think you should follow your muse. But I also understand that lot of people like to choose what you should update according to their favorites. Still for me I would be totally fine if you get rid of your votes and instead would go with system: one story picked by readers only, one story entirely chosen by you. Any addition would be then up to you and how would you want to go with it if you had time :) For example you could let us pick between just two stories or so. But back to your question if it wasn't obvious already - yes, do so if you want to :) Stallion of the Line: 1) There aren't many fruits that Nami would actually eat willingly (likes to swim) or benefit from greatly. But Lighting DF is definitely one of them. Given how well she can control weather with some at the start pretty basic widget? Just imagine what would happen if you give her all the lighting to control :) Especially if she didn't focus entirely on just that, but still added some widget to combine both into something even greater. If she on top of that added some knowledge from Ranma original world that he would share? Heh, just so many crazy ideas - Railgun, long range communication separate from Den Den Mushi, of course ship capable of flying, many appliances and things which could be built and powered by her... It's almost endless. Just a side effect of this fruit is magnetism :-D That speak for itself. Heh, really, talk about crazy. Nami would truly be a monster of her own right :) And it's not just combat and all the utility but even her already amazing capabilities with prediction. If she could actually feel on top of even Atmospheric electricity or even affect it? Talk about the perfect Navigator. Not only they would always have the best route and good weather if she so willed. The ship right behind trying to chase them would enjoy downpour and some lighting storm actually only nudged by her powers but otherwise happening 'naturally' :-D The final argument is that she saw how powerful it is and came close to dying once again. She may truly want the power up and defences such DF grants. And not only for herself, but for the her loved ones as well. After all she could defend against lighting the best on Resolve but she was still unable to help anyone and watched all other to either get hurt or even die... That all being said... Ruffy with Lighting fruit is even more monstrous. Given his already crazy base speed, which would then be boosted by the fruit further... Damn, just damn :) Also the amount of brutally strong ranged attacks which would be added to his repertoire (because while he has some, he is still close, or at best mid, range fighter). He just wouldn't have any true weakness, because sure, go ahead, hide underwater against someone controlling lighting :-D See how that works out for you :-D Honestly, how much powerful it would made him is kinda also the contra argument. Because how many adversaries would be able to possess a threat? He would suddenly be Admirals (almost) and top commanders (some of them) level while growing into Yonko category. Still I think this is actually the VERY BEST fruit Luffy can get unless we starts to invent original DF. So passing this fruit seems like a very sad event, since I just don't see any better option. - Given how long this post would be I'm gonna respond to my own post with an addendum listing all Devil Fruits that in my opinion would at least come close. 2) I kinda feel... like the ship sailed for now. Maybe when(if?) some other woman manages to worm her way into the relationship with Luffy and Robin, it would also enable Nami a second chance which she could grasp and succeed IF she actually wants to share a man in relationship at that point anyway. Since at the moment it just doesn't seem that way to me. Honestly I can see more easily, her taming Sanji and be pretty happy afterwards with all the care she would be getting :-) And Sanji actually calming down with finally getting some :-D Still she may still try to do something even against her better judgement just because of pride/not wanting to loose. And I guess she would probably try to go right for the goal given the misgiving she should at this point have about the chances of success. So outright seduction attempt. But I kinda hope she will use her wits instead of grit in this scenario and won't try to force it. 3) I think they should meet Foxy Pirate. After all some plunder and another DF is always nice to have :-D And just saying "screw your stupid games and face" is worthy scene by itself. Alternatively... It could be maybe interesting if Zoro, Luffy and Makino were unable to fight given their current injuries. But I fear that Robin and Sanji would still curb stomp them... Maybe if Aokiji met with strawhats before the Foxy Pirates arrived? And it would leave just the 'weaker' members of the crew to deal with the major number disadvantage and dangerous devil fruit? The biggest issue with this idea is probably why would Strawhats leave the Skypiea so injured given how dangerous the travel back to blue sea can be :) Semblance of Hope: 1) I'm not fully caught up with the newest RWBY canon so I may lack some crucial info. But from what I saw she is kinda weird character that I feel like the authors themselves are not sure about. She was allowed to peek behind the curtain so to say and disregarded Ozpin for better or worse and his endeavour. But she also for some reason follow rules from her village and any rule pretty much saying you can help your daughter only once? No... she is barmy in my opinion :-D But salvageable... Ranma could probably have fun with fighting her. But when he finds out she left her daughter? I don't think he will give her further benefits of doubt. That hits him kinda close to home. He may still follow Yang lead though so it would depend on our fiery blonde.

Ad Stallion. Devil Fruit options for Ruffy, when compared to Lighting fruit, which I see as the best option for him from them all (Order of fruits in the same tiers is not really important) Tier 1: 1) Pika Pika no Mi (Light) To me in this case it seems like a lesser version of Lighting DF. The speed is of course even higher, but with that level of speed I think it depends more on user than the fruit. If both movement are pretty much teleportation even for Mantra, then it hardly matters which instantaneous movement is 'faster'. Comprehending and actually starting some action afterwards is what decide. But the Light fruit loses to Lighting at utility and in a big way. It would be just sad passing Lighting for Light, given all that Ranma could bring to the table. 2) Hana Hana no Mi (Robin's fruit) Well, first and foremost I don't want Robin to die or even loose her power. So it stops pretty much on this alone. But let's ignore the current user and focus just on the DF itself. Abilities of this fruit on Ruffy is just stuff of nightmare. I'm not saying Robin is using it badly, not at all. But her position is often that of a spy or a capturer. Even if she employs rather brutal method when she decides to dispose of someone :) But imagine Ranma being able to spawn his hand anywhere at any time, but why a hand? Hands it is, hundreds of them in fact. Going immediately into a repeated Shigan at Amaguriken speed boosted with Busoshoku haki. Oh, opponents have mantra? Good luck, I hope said adversary is really fast at arranging what is needed for their funeral because what defence can they muster? :-D 3) Bari Bari no Mi (Barrier) Now that would be something interesting. Barrier that cannot be destroyed, that can box enemy and stop them in their track, that can be used as a foothold? Combine this fruit, Ranma adaptability and his combat prowess and it would be just amazing. Honestly I just wonder if the fruit isn't too overpowered because after what it withstood in canon I just don't know what could destroy the barrier. I guess... nothing? At best someone like Akainu can bury it in lava, wait till it hardens and the Barrier's user suffocate? :-D Or probably someone strong enough to throw the whole building/section of earth that barriers is employed on into the water? :-D And remember that you can stand on the barrier in air anyway... 4) Tori Tori no Mi (Phoenix Zoan) Ability to truly fly and our juggernaut's already crazy durability and Ki recovery boosted through the roof by the phoenix powers. Some fire elemental attacks added as well for good measure. Good enough to be considered Tier 1, but it's kinda lacking compared to rest because Luffy is pretty much at home in air anyway. It's sort of only boosting what he already has instead of bringing something truly new. 5) Moa Moa no Mi (Also known as More More Fruit, Amplify things) This is just an outright boost with a twist. User of this fruit can boost himself or objects via touch up to 100 times, be it speed or strength or even size. Just 100x faster and stronger Ranma than he is currently is totally crazy. Add something that he would throw with said stats... Let's work with cannonball and make it into a family thing :-D Said cannonball is now also suddenly 100x bigger. And I think user can actually even boost the speed and strength of said cannonball by another hundredfold upon throwing it. Just to be really really sure there is nothing left from the target :-D You got very jealous Garp and Luffy's new main training project is to learn how to push his armament haki into projectiles Kuja style. It's really crazy fruit and it only gets crazier with its user getting stronger. It's also one of the very few (like at max 5, maybe less) Devil Fruits that I would actually advocate for Zoro to have. And it's definitely the best one amongst them for him. Zoro already uses something similar with his Gorilla technique (the flexing biceps to crazy size technique he uses in preparation for another attack). It would work flawlessly for the world-best-swordsman-to-be. If he can cut a mountain with his current normally sized sword.... Imagine what he could cut with 100x stronger, 100x faster and 100x BIGGER sword :-D Do we have some spaceships to evacuate to another planet? :-D Tier 2: These fruits are not weaker by itself, but they just don't mesh as well with Ruffy style of combat and personality. While it can be interesting challenge to work with fruit that actually doesn't just outright boost what you do, I don't think we are at point where Luffy would eat random fruit, given his current knowledge and situation. It would have to be truly desperate scenario and even then I wonder if he would try to go for it, as some fruits can at first be detriment. I) Hie Hie no Mi (Ice) Extremely strong fruit and the versatility is great. It's not exactly Ranma style, but he could definitely learn to work with such powers and would be pretty awesome at it. II) Magu Magu no Mi (Magma) Just because of how strong of a logia this fruit is. Otherwise I don't really see how would Luffy use this power or want truly want it. III) Mera Mera no Mi #flamelivesmatters :-D But otherwise the compatibility with Ranma is actually better than he would have with magma. Still not exactly his style but closer. Also this fruit versatility is good enough, that he would tame the flames to his great advantage and our enjoyment. IV) Gura Gura no Mi (Tremor) With this one many people may disagree. But I just don't see Ranma eating it for the power itself. Either he would do so to keep it out of hand of government (or anyone else, really) or to keep Whitebeard legacy for some reason. I also actually see him using this fruit only rarely if he were to posses it. Either to make statement and get rid of some stronghold/island etc that deserve such treatment (slaves action house as a good example). Or if he would be really pushed in an important fight, where he would then use it to boost his punches with the shake power. To me it feels more like it's would be about duty than about DF and new abilities to train and experiment with. Too somber for my taste ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Still I must, and even freely admit that it's one of the strongest fruit there is. V) Noro Noro no Mi (Photons - Foxy's fruit) Fruit that sends beams which slow movement for 30 seconds? 30 seconds of Ranma freely attacking any adversary he is against? Well, in that case he also got time to ask Sanji for food and make out with Robin with all the spare time :-D But remember that the fruit is much more. The beams can be avoided by a good fighter most of the time, but the sword (whip) of photons wielded by Ranma that slows only the areas hit? Yeah, good luck with defending against that. Unless Busoshoku Haki can negate this effect which I DOUBT I just don't see it happening. Maybe emperor haki could, if we expanded on it. But the armament is doubtful to me. At best it would shorten the time the user got slowed for. But still, the only defence is not to get hit and I wish you luck with such strategy against Ranma. The major draw of this fruit is how far it could go with a capable user. Because honestly? If truly serious and prepared, when you hit the beam once, most of the fights are over (stab over punches for example). It would be truly amazing to see Ranma using this power to its utter limits, but there is also the chance for a lot of fight to be pretty boring and trivialized -> get into close range, blast enemy with beam, now use 30 seconds to finish it and done VI) Mero Mero no Mi (Hancock's fruit) Again I would prefer the current user to keep her fruit as I like her a lot and hope for a big involvement on her part in this story later on :) But if we ignore as we did with Robin and only focus on the fruit itself. Its powers allows for much more, than just turn into stone these who are infatuated with its user. But even that by itself could be crazily fun with Ranma having a girl form and be 'forced' to actively using 'herself' like that :-D Yeah, I don't think any of the statues would be coming back to life just on that fact alone that they saw him charming them :-D It would be comedy gold. Especially as there are also female adversaries for his male form to shine in the same way xD But let's focus on the direct combat potential. This fruit also allows user's strikes to be infused with power to turn what is hit to stone. And with that I could go with 'nuff said' and close the case. Because for someone like Ranma with Amaguriken speed it's both opening and finishing move. Unless it can be resisted somehow this part of the fruit power by itself is enough for Ruffy to win pretty much anything. There is of course more to the fruit and the powers are pretty varied and interesting. But the major points were shown. This is also a start of a series of fruits with the ability to decide any fight in one touch and one touch only. Tier 3: Lot of fruits being one trick pony but also winning the fight very easily A) Hobi Hobi no Mi (Sugar's fruit) You touch anyone anyway and he is a toy that no one remembers. What is gonna stop Ranma? O_o Best example of the fruits that are way too OP in some hands, but can be kinda boring. Also I don't see Ranma being okay with using this one given what happens to the enemy. B) Modo Modo no Mi (Ain's fruit) One touch and anything is 12 years younger. Pretty good to keep your ship in excellent shape, just make sure it's at least 12 years old or you're going for a sudden swim :-D Also can be used more then once on the same target. So while I would advice against using it on someone like Garp unless you like pain (Garp in his prime on your case? Ouch!) or touching him repeatedly VERY VERY quickly, it's a beast of a fruit. It can easily decide most fights, as it can even fully erase your opponents from existence. And that only if you aren't okay with leaving said enemy in a child form. C) Soru Soru no Mi (Big Mom's fruit) Well, good luck with getting this one :-D But being able to draw out someone soul by itself is crazy, and of course the other abilities are also extreme. Not really feasible to use it for Luffy as it is already in Yonko hand, but too strong to not mention here. D) Sabi Sabi no Mi (Rust) What you touch is rusted and turn to dust. Any weapon, any armor, gone in seconds. Building? Ships? Also easily doable. And it works even against organic matter even if much slower. Still good luck making Luffy let go of you while you're 'rusting away' (ouch). But compared to the other 'one touch and win DF' mentioned this one is weaker. Even if in some sense more brutal. I wonder how it would work combined with Armament haki against Logia user... E) Memo Memo no Mi (Pudding's fruit) Weakest from the one touch and win category. As it can be actually fought against afterwards, even when used successfully. Still if in a fight the opponents loose ALL his memories, or let's just say all his combat related memories? Good luck winning against Luffy without them. F) Peto Peto no Mi (Breed's fruit, making everyone into user's pet) Still fits the category of one touch which can win the fight. The fruit allows you to control anyone alive by 'giving' them a collar which can then be used to give wearers commands that they cannot refuse. The collar is thrown as a form of energy, can be dodged for sure, but it's still pretty fast, and I don't see any issue transferring it in melee hit as well. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yFtJGYHuv4 for better understanding if you don't know this devil fruit. Still it's also one fruit that Ruffy would have moral issues with. G) Shibo Shibo no Mi (Dehydration, Smoothie's fruit) Last fruit of the category which still loosely fits the bill. You can wring/squeeze anything and get its 'juice' which also means the target looses liquid. Said Liquid can also be absorbed by the user or even by an item if the users wishes so. While the squeeze and twist actually don't hurt even a living target by itself. The dehydration surely does, especially as the user can keep the process going and even use sword as sort of 'straw' to drain someone completely. All of these fruits in the category I had going here, are pretty crazily powerful when used correctly and by a strong (or just fast) user, but that can also make them pretty boring in lot cases. H) Mini Mini no Mi (Lily Enstomach's fruit) Fruit that allows you to shrink your size down to a 5 millimetres, while keeping all your strength. It's pretty much a limited Ant-man suit power :) User can also shrunk to any size between the 5 mm limit and their normal former size. Former, because this fruit actually resize your normal form the same way Gomu Gomu makes Luffy always a ruber-man. This can be seen when the user is de-powered and the size is pretty small (can stand on other people shoulder and don't bother them). It's also possible to resize just part of your body (but you still cannot grow anything to be bigger than your original size) This is of course a superb fruit for a giant, who can truly use it to its full potential. Still could be pretty funny fruit to play with and one that could Luffy utilize greatly. That being said against a good mantra user it doesn't bring nearly enough to the table, and can turn out to be almost useless in some situation. Still a full powered attack from Luki hiding even from Haki by the Silent Thief technique and being nearly invisible due to size is pretty cool :) There are of course several others extremely powerful DF and almost any can be trained to a unbelievable levels but I feel they're either out-shined or outperformed by some already mentioned on the list. But these I mentioned got something that make them at least comparable in some aspect to the Goro Goro no MI

Alexander Hendrik

I would prefer if you give it to Raffy coz I don't think Nami will go for it since her dream is to make a world map! Eating a Dev fruit will really hinder her since she can't swim and dive ergo she can't draw underwater chart. If you really can't help but want Nami to eat a Dev fruit than at least wait till they meet Franky and build a submarine.

Kasey Rasmussen

as far as the fruit don't give it to any one yet. maybe some how use it to make a weapon for Nami or crew can get a pet and feed it to the pet. i can see the pet help raffy with Haki training.

Chris

Can only speak to the first item, as I am not caught up yet on the other two stories. Regarding no story poll every few months, I am all for it. Mostly as I would much rather you write in your own direction rather then getting burned out on some stories. Get better quality stories that way anyway... :)

MinotaurKing

Semblance: The only thing your really missing is that she is both a massive coward and a fatalist(nothing you do matters or you cant win etc.), as has already been noted however in spite of all her flaws she is unarguably one of the top tier combatants of RWBY, a fight between her and Ranma would be epic.

MinotaurKing

Stallion: 1. I agree that Nami shouldn't get the fruit, but nor do I think Raffy should get it as it just doesn't feel like it would suit him. 2. She is the type to go for broke given recent events and how close he already is with Robin; I don't think it will work out for her however. 3. Maybe for Buggy and his crew the Foxy Pirates would be interesting opponets; but only Foxy himself would be at all interesting for Raffy and his crew, other wise yeah just nope the fuck out lol.

MinotaurKing

Bhaalson: 1. I felt like you hit the feel of a dungeon crawl perfectly, frustrating, tiring, and bloody hard as fuck for small parties(there is a reason Raid parties usually consist of 10+ ppl in MMORPGs afterall).

Shane

Stallion 1. Lighting raffy would be too powerful and take out all the suspense from the story but Nami could well make something special out of the fruit if she can accept a place on the crew as a fighter (even a long range one) honestly I think the fruit should go to Makino to give her the power boost she would need to keep up with the rest of the crew, bellandy and Urd said in the first chap that devil fruits are chaos energy that’s been warped to produce a single effect so what better way to get her to break past the limits imposed on her by lack of inherit talent and I assume how late she started training. No matter what she wants to do to shanks (slap him marry him or just outright kick his ass) she’s gonna have to survive New World first and I don’t think she can as is. 2. Raffy wold react very poorly to a slow seduction and might spot her attempts early because of his time as Ranma which would no doubt cause tension and drama amongst the crew which could be fun, but her pride and greed is likely to push her to panic and go for broke I think on the other hand I’d really like them to get together but I guess it depends on what happens in the naverone ark and with Hina 3. It would be a good deescalation of tensions in between ark and a way to push the weaker members how far they’ve grown

Joshua

I like the idea of the DF going to Nami. This is especially so after reading Tomon’s post where they showed just how compatible it is with her. From aiding her dream of being the greatest navigator, to combining it with gadgets to do awesome stuff, and finally giving her some very real and greatly needed firepower. Nami with railguns is just plain awesome and absolutely terrifying. Nami, Despite how much she has grown as both a person and in her combat abilities, is still to fragile and cannot be seen as a proper peer. It always feels like she is simply to weak to be a true member of the strawhat crew. As if she is the weak link. Every time they inter into some new adventure or even a simple fight it always feels like she is bringing a pocketknife to a gun fight. Everyone else is bringing shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, etc. but she brings a pocketknife of all things. She simply cannot stand up strait and tall and say with all confidence that she is Ranma’s peer. His far weaker subordinate perhaps, but not his peer. This also carries over to any potential relationship they might have. While it is not necessary for her to be his equal in combat it is necessary for her be able to stand at his side with confidence. To be a potential life partner she needs to meet the minimum standers require to stand at his side and at this point she is simply lacking, and she knows it. Whether she shares him with Robin, or she attempts to claim him for herself, she must first step beyond her current limitations and become something more than she has ever been before. This is her chance, her opportunity, to truly make that step. To be able to stand tall and proud while declaring with great confidence to be a member of the strawhat crew. To not be inferior in comparison to the rest of the crew. To be seen as a true threat in and of herself by the rest of the world. To truly be Ranma’s peer.

Joshua

What Devil Fruit should Ranma have? As I have already stated in another post I strongly feel that the lightning Devil Fruit should definitely go to Nami. But that than raises the question, what about Ranma? After some thought I feel like there are two types that should be most considered. Either a Devil Fruit that increases base abilities, like strength and/or speed etc., or one that has something to do with life energy. Of the two I mentioned I am more drawn to one that effects life energy simply because only Ranma could truly bring out its full potential. On the surface such a Devil Fruit would seem trivial, boring, and just plain lacking. And in anyone else’s hands, it would be. In Ranma’s hands however…. Utterly terrifying. No seriously, with this Devil Fruit he would truly take a half step into becoming a true demigod. This DF should have just one minor ability that in Ranma’s hands would make him monstrous. It should remove the limit on how much ki or life energy he can possess. Every living thing has a limit to the amount of life energy they can contain before their mortal bodies simply cannot contain any more. Just as a cup can only contain a specific amount of water before it cannot hold anymore so to does every living thing have a limit on the amount of life energy it can hold. While a living being can improve their bodies in order to increase how much life energy their physical vessel can hold there is an upper limit to this. They will eventually reach the absolute limit of bodily improvement and the limit to how much ki they can contain. A human who has reached the absolute limit cannot compare to a lazy dragon who has not, simply because of the difference in their physical vessels. A dragon’s physical body is simply a superior vessel in every way compared to a human and thus will hold more ki than a human. Even Ranma, who has built his body/vessel up to its ultimate limit, simply cannot compete with a dragon, even a lazy and weak one, in terms of the quantity and quality of ki or life energy. He may be more skilled, proficient, and efficient in the use of ki than the lazy and weak dragon but his reserves will always be inferior in every way compared to said dragon. And if he should face a dragon who has worked just as diligently as him in bringing their body/vessel to its absolute limits than he is simply screwed. This Devil Fruit will change the body of the one that eats it, removing the natural limitations to the bodies ability to become a better vessel for the quantity and quality of ki it can contain. To allow the body to contain more ki it will by force have to allow every cell in the body to hold far more ki and of a higher quality than what they should be able to. In order for the cells to contain such they will be made far tougher than what is natural. If not than the cells would literally explode just like cells that gain to much water do. Thus this Devil Fruit increases ones durability in order to allow for the increase of ones ki. This Devil Fruit would not immediately increase the durability of the users cells but would rather allow the user to do so through body tempering/training. For all others there is a very clear limit to how much tempering ones body/vessel can undergo before it reaches its absolute limits and thus reaching the limit of the quantity and quality of ki it can hold. The user of this devil fruit can continually temper their body beyond this limit increasing their bodies toughness and durability thus allowing the user to continuously increase their ki reserves. Think of Ranma as being a living holy grail of life energy. A chalice that could theoretically hold an infinite amount of ki. If that is not utterly monstrous I do not know what is.

Alec Fowler

yes please work towards finishing them

Tomon

Someone read my 'small' comment, yay! :-D Thanks Anyway nicely said as you touched on the part I omitted - what it would mean for her standing in the crew but also self confidence. She could be really Ranma partner in all important aspects and could stand as a proud woman besides the pirate king. Not just be his lover who needs to be protected from most of his enemies.

Tomon

Sounds rather interesting. What would be the theme for this fruit? And what it would done for others people in the base form. Let's say after someone like Nami would eat it? Slightly more durable body and easier time training/performing physical feats? Being able to stay awake longer and last longer doing physical labour? But the effect wouldn't be too big, hence why is the fruit dismissed by most as a weak one? Or do I misunderstand your idea in some way? I ask because fruit which effect just boost one Ki/Life energy potential is overly convenient for Ranma to suddenly appear :)

Tomon

Btw, also maybe check the Moa Moa no Mi. Either in my post or just google it. It's from One Piece movie and fits the first category you mentioned for Ruffy ;-)

Gilicze Laszlo Balazs

To 1.B.: Pierre didn't die (at least not on screen, and I don't see even a minor "good" character dying for a simple joke), the rest could happen though... like Hina informing Aokiji about the fruit and Robin, and him going out of his way to seek them out.

Gilicze Laszlo Balazs

THANK YOU! THIS! SOOOO OF MUCH THIS! I would also pick Makino for the fruit for the aforementioned reasons, but also, think about it: think about Shank's reaction to a logia powered-Makino beeing after him. :D:D:D:D:D:D Just saying :P

Gilicze Laszlo Balazs

And also: Makino is already the denmother of the crew, so an extra tool to "keep the kids in line" would be hilarious.

Gilicze Laszlo Balazs

General: Sure. All your stories are a treat to read anyway ( was a Ranma only, but I broke down and read your HP stories as well, /save for Bhaalsons since i'm saving it for next month/ and loved most of them) and somehow finishing one of your current fics in the near future also means you could start on that HP/Ranma crossover story. Stallion 1.: I’m honestly thorn after reading all the other comments… on the one hand the goro goro no mi would make Raffy insanely OP, but it would also paint a whole magnitude larger target on the crews back, like an actual – and not a neutral like Aokiji – admiral being sent out to hunt him down. That is, if he is stupid enough to let Hina and the marines know about the fruit. While Hina herself could be trusted to keep it a secret (If Raffy gave his word that he wouldn’t eat it), her crew, or what remained of it can’t. They probably would give it away by mistake even if sworn to secrecy. I think Robin will hide it for now and only bring it out for discussion after they parted from them. I think Raffy eating it would escalate the story way too fast and would leave the rest of the crew so far behind that it wouldn’t do well for their drive to train themselves. Of course there is the “I need all the power I can get to protect my friends” angle, but that is what training (honest to goodness hard work sweat and blood, which Ranma is known for) is for, to spread the power so he doesn’t have to protect them all the time. So while it would indeed give him a truly monstrous boost on the power scale, it would defeat the purpose of training the whole crew, and also clash with his “there are no shortcuts to strength” attitude. So I don’t think he should eat it. HOEWER!!! Basically everyone forgets how different Raffy is from canon Luffy. Or at least they forget one Major difference. THE CURSE. How would it interact with a devil fruit in the first place? Would it carry over from one form to the other? Because if it didn’t… Male Raffy eating any devil fruit would negate the biggest weakness of any fruit user, because the moment he’d hit the water the curse would kick in and she could still swim and ki-heating a handful of water afterwards isn’t that hard. But if it carries over, than, no thanks. There are plenty people in the One Piece world who are monstrously strong without having df powers and Raffy already has the potential to go well beyond all of them, and still plenty of ways to get stronger (like mastering the neko-ken or finding a way to mix his ki and haki together for example). As for the others: Robin, Chopper and later Brook are obviously out (and Frankie, because a shipwright has to be able to swim to do “under the water line” repairs). As is Zorro. I simply can’t see him eat any devil fruit voluntarily. He has the same mentality as Raffy, that hard work is the way to go to the top, and not “cheating “ with a df. But the rest of the crew could all benefit from eating it. Maybe least of them Sanji, but he wouldn’t be totally opposed to it, unlike in canon. That is because Raffy used the umi-sen-ken in front of him and that is basically what the invisibility fruit would have done for him (the only fruit he would have eaten in canon). So begging for training in the umi-sen-ken and the option for other df is open for him, but I doubt it since his dream of the All Blue would require him to “swim with the fishes” and the mermaids, can’t forget the mermaids :D That leaves the three ladies. And yes, three, because at this point Laki will have time to get to know the crew while they rest and recuperate (and repair the Resolve) and realize that she wants to go with them (possibly to find her father who is probably either Roger or one of his crew) and become the crews weapon smith (Clima gauntlet or a full Clima bodysuit for Nami and some kick a… rifles and pistols for Makino and a love-interest for Frankie :D oh the awesome “babies” they could make together :D). Though I don’t think it likely she would go for it… she saw for years what Enel-aho did with his power, so I think she would be very leery to “step in his shoes”, but other dfs are fair game with her, but only after she proved herself with her own creations. Nami could make good use of the fruit even outside of combat, but it would certainly force her to be more of a frontline fighter than she is comfortable with. It certainly would give her the power and confidence to stand beside Raffy and Robin and she wouldn’t become a damsel in distress ever again, but her mentality would have to change too radically for it to be ideal for her. And an angry Nami throwing around lightning bolts when the guys are being stupid is just asking for trouble. And as I said: she has more technological ways of becoming strong in her own right. Now Makino… Makino would be my choice since she already stated that she is probably as strong as she’ll ever going to get. The power up from the fruit would allow her to keep up with the crew in the future and not be a liability. She is more level headed than Nami, so she can be trusted more with that power and as the crews denmother, she’s more likely to use her power in non-combat related ways, or help out with them when asked to. (Zoro and Sanji look up from their current fight/d..k measuring contest to see an angry, scowling Makino with small lightning bolts arcing across her body closing in on them :D). Also: lightning powered railgun sniper rifle, taking out battleships (or people with zero fashion sense) with a single bullet. It could also help her conquer her fear of heights. But most of all: Shanks finding out that a logia-powered Makino is after him would be absolutely hilarious :D:D:D Stallion 2.: A lot can happen in a few days. Since Raffy is most likely to be out for at least a day or two, this gives enough time for Nami to sit vigil next to Raffy’s bed and confess her feelings to him, while Robin overhears all of it. She could also kiss him while he sleeps and Robin could “accidentally” walk in on her. They would talk and I think Robin would give her the ok to go for him. I honestly think the beat Robin out for his affection ship sailed long ago, but sharing, that they could do as long as she makes her own place in his hearth. When Raffy comes to she could give him a biiiiiiig kiss for saving her, only for him to realize she is doing it in front of Robin :P, who then proceeds to give him a, not so secret, and equally deep kiss as well. But generally after that it would slow down a bit, but with Raffy sufficiently informed of Nami’s intentions, it would be a more open and honest courtship than it would be if she was just flirting with him. And of course on Raffy’s side would come the Nerima fiancée flashbacks for a bit. So… go for broke, but a more controlled and planned broke. Stallion 3.: The Davy Back Fight is possibly the most Nerimaesqe crazy arc in One Piece. It’s right up old Ranma’s alley, but new and… improved?... Raffy might have a problem with the stakes there… it could be fun but only if the wagers were different. Or this could be an adventure for Buggy and co. Buggy and Foxy are both quite the showmen, so I thing they would get along just fine and the Buggy-Foxy alliance could quite possibly be the single most hilariously underpowered powerblock in the whole story. So yeah, as long as the G-8 arc somehow makes it into your story (because Raffy and Robin going all spy infiltrator on their a…ses, and because Robin looks amazing in a Marine officers uniform) the DBF can be fought, ignored, outsourced or what have you.

The Lightning2 Fruit is way up there on the Logia Type fruit. Why not give it to Aisa (the little Shandian Girl). She can be the inverse Enel....with her natural Mantra, she an be the new benevolent force in the Sky Islands. You could give it to Nami too, I guess... though I personally think Nami is pretty bad-ass without the Devil Fruit. If she were to get one, a water type Logia should be better. Or maybe Magnet2 fruit. She can be a more badass Magneto.

Agent Frank

I didn't consider this at all but honestly it might be the best option. Major props

Stallion of the line questions: 1a) as nami is now i dont see her being the best choice for the lightning fruit as she isnt a front line fighter by choice like ranma/ruffy and zoro etc ,it might be useful for her for distance and speed attacks but im having trouble seeing it. 1b)the lightning fruit wouldnt overpower ranma/ruffy i dont think as it would take him a while to train to get the best results even with his training methods and as things heat up in the story line i assume he would be going up against older more experienced logia/df users and other users of haki and enels df would be a good ace to have and versatile enough to suit ranma/ruffy but not overpower him i dont think it will be an edge but not to much of one (sorry if im rambling) 2) with nami upping her game i think she should try the fast way and it not go exactly to plan but with them giving it a go slow at first but turning into a more solid relationship further on. 3)i always thought the davy fight ridiculous but maybe the strawhats would use them to ease their boredom or ranma/ruffy use it as a training excercise while the foxes try and give it their all

Wrandral

Stallion : 1°) Honestly i don't think Ranma would ever want a Devil Fruit power since he'd would see it in his case as a crutch to power he could obtain by training especially knowing that thereplenty of people without devil fruit among the strongest people in the world. 2°) Honestly i'd see a combination of both given how impulsive Nami is. 3°) Never cared much for the DBF but it'd be a good opportunity for Raffy's crew to put into practice their training and might be interesting if you think Ranma could find a new crewmember. Semblance: 1°)Honestly maybe i've been influenced by all those fanfics but i always pictured Raven as a coward at heart hiding being convenient excuses. If Ranma met her well he would certainly confront her about Yang or force her to confront Yang given his opinions on shitty parents and he would certainly try to wreck her and her tribe for what they've been doing all these years. Bhaalson: 1°) Loved the dungeon though wow it was a torture for the characters themselves ^^ 2°) I'll ask my Baldur's gate frien about that mode and i'dlike to remind you that he's still eager to exchange with you about your chapters. Contact me via PM if you have questions you'dlike to put to him.

As someone who really enjoys AGGC I'm definitely down with your proposed change. :P In regard to Stallion though, while I truly love the series, surprisingly I don't really have an opinion on this one, I definitely defer to your creative abilities. Thanks for the stories!

Patreon type general question: I’m all for the 3 months per year that you get your own pick of stories to continue! ^^ Stallion of the Line: 1) Goro Goro Mi: I do not think whether of character, nor story wise that Ranma would eat this fruit. Alone with his curse which attracts water and falling into it quite often. Even more so with the planet being full of water and different planets/plains he will travel that he wants this. Furthermore, this fruit would make him simple too OP and too boring to read. He already has Haki to play with and that alone is already quite the thing to fight against the top tier enemies. Not even to mention what he comes up with combination of Ki and Haki as well new techniques. As for whom to give it, there as mentioned by others could be either Makino or Nami, whereby I am on two sides whom to give. Nami, because she is the weakest amongst them and this fruit can give her some confidence. A regular DF would not interest her but a Logia Type would be quite the thing. Even more so, one which let her be ‘next to Ranma.’ Please keep in mind that each DF power is based on the person who uses it. See as to Ace’s follow up owner! Thus, the fear that she isn’t a frontal fighter I would not let count as argument that this fruit isn’t for her. It’s even MORE the reason why she should get it. With her knowledge of the weather the ‘Weather Witch’ to predict and know how the clouds and thunder and lightning works and what each of that entails, she can use the ranged attacks and specialize in Thunderclouds and lighting attacks and lightning movements to dodge. On the other hand, she could use it to a greater degree and along with Ranma’s ‘mysterious knowledge’ surely could do even more crazy stuff like maybe even a ‘water bomb?’ You can also make it so that she senses more than the ex-user could? Now the question is if you need Nami as damsel in distress or will that be someone else? Makino on the other hand is up to you since you fleshed her out in this story and thus can give her to her easily so that she can ‘wreak havoc’ upon Shanks. XD XD XD As well as ‘the mother’ of the crew she would have quite the pull to keep all in line when using this fruit’s power! Alone the thought of Makino vs Big Mom (Charlotte Linlin) is fun for me! Also it would be interesting in which way Makino would develop the DF’s power. 2) Here I’m on the same opinion as ‘Cormag81’ that if she wants to have Ranma for herself that she would go slow and steady, on the other hand if she wants to share with Robin, she would be more open forward to it! 3) The only way Ranma would play that game is if he is forced into it by too much power, which I doubt he would, being the loyal person he is. On the other hand you could have the Foxy Pirates have this contest versus the Buggy pirates! That would be fun to read, can be quite summarized to keep the suspense of what will happen in the future when Ranma meets the much-changed crew of Buggy. XD A Semblance of Hope: 1) All I know is what I’ve read about her on this page: https://rwby.fandom.com/wiki/Raven_Branwen#Personality And that is enough Being cynical, patronizing, selfish, stubborn, prideful, hypocritical, refusing to acknowledge her faults and failing to measure her consequences, along with believing on “survival of the fittest” and running away when danger is coming to her …. that’s one time-bomb waiting to explode in everyone’s faces. She needed quite the wakeup call to change all that and let her motherly instincts come to the surface … gah it took way to long for all that to surface and damn, the first impression of her will be a female Kuno and I think it would take Yang’s word from killing her. After experiencing Ranma’s might, she will definitely flee (from what I read) and thus will walk around Ranma as if on egg shells. I wonder what else she would experience there. It’s interesting what ‘Tellemicus Sundance’ wrote on her, she stole so much and did so many dumb things…. Yep handles her like a Kuno until she did the dumbest thing and attacks Pyrrha or Yang, which he still has feelings even if said he will break up. She has a great chance to stay alive or being even captured. Then again with fright and running away is THE source many Grimm will hone in…. It would be so funny and redeeming to have Ranma ‘train’ her to the bone until she gets a backbone for all the dumb things she did.

Stephen Foltz jr

I agree with the idea that if a story has not been voted on for three months that you should update it so that you can get the story finished. I have been waiting for a while now for AGGC to update but it keeps losing.

Tomon

Ad Stallion 1) The water attraction of the curse didn't cross over. That being said he got splashed often enough just because he is at sea. But that by itself doesn't weaken DF user at all.

vimesenthusiast

Ooh, the Buggy and Usopp idea... hmmm... yes that could work eventually. But only after the Foxy pirates get smacked around a bit.

vimesenthusiast

The Davy Back Fight won't be happening at all, due to the basic premise: betting your crewmen is something that Raffy would find anathema. The next two chapters are going to be cooldown chapters... for the most part.

vimesenthusiast

2. Ayup. 1. I don't know if everyone on the crew would agree with the downside being that tremendous. After all, there are a LOT of DF users in the original, and how often have the crews enemies faced issues with water? Not often for the sheer number of them we've seen. As for not needing the DF powers, not right now maybe. But What about when they have an Admiral after them, or face one of the Yonkou?

vimesenthusiast

2. Ah, but she knows she's already losing this 'match'. in fact, she's already said it, she might have to settle for a piece of the pie unless she can 'get ahead' of Robin. She might be nervous as hell, but I could see her going for it, hence my question LOL>

vimesenthusiast

Well not everyone on the crew. Nami would have trouble, and Makino would too. Agree on Raven's cool powers, but yeah, her mentality is fucking stupid. And yeah, a meeting between the two would be explosive. And deadly.

vimesenthusiast

1. You're the first to comment on the patreon question, and yeah, that seems to be the consensus. Which is good LOL, since I really want at least AGGC done by the end of this year. Stallion 1. It had been the obvious move yes, hell I've been planning it out for a while. But... doing so would remove any kind of tension in the story for at least three, possibly as many as the next four canon arcs. Semblance: That's just it. She justifies what she does in order to get rid of her guilt for being a stone cold bandit leader bitch. in this story, the connection to Emerald and the amount of pain being in direct mental communion with Salem causes her is a way towards Cinder kind of not being as evil as she was in the show. Raven has no such thing. If i wanted to try to redeem her, I would have a lot of work cut out for me. And honestly, I don't like her character enough to do so. Cinder, I've read a few stories where she was redeemed or turned from working with Salem, and I liked the idea. Mind you, she's still quite villainous just not worldendingly so.

vimesenthusiast

climatact. But yeah, everyone seems to think that it would fit her great, but... she hates fighting. She would also become a major target. A MAJOR one. the Marines don't like logias being in anyone else's hands. 2. Ah, but how good would she be at it? 3. Canon Ranma at the beginning and about halfway through canon, yeah. By the time Herb showed up he was less prone to sacrificing other people for his pride. Sacrifice himself, sure, bet other people no. The stealing a ship thing though is a go.

vimesenthusiast

Stallion1) I have sort of done the whole keep power in reserve a few times before - in ATP, and with Ranma, his Sealed techniques. I do agree with the idea of the crew using this near-beatdown (Robin and Sanji are the only ones still in combat shape by the end of the arc) . And yeah. I'm not saying that Nami doesn't need a power up, she sooo does. Or that she couldn't do great weather-related things with it. But it is a logia - and it was stated in canon several times, that the Marines don't like pirates having those. Would she agree to take it knowing it would put a bullseye on her back almost as large as her captain's if not larger? 2. Yeah... surprising how few people realized that Ranma and his reaction is also part of this equation LOL. 3. Thank you for your faith in my ability. I'll try not to disappoint (except in the small mistakes area LOL) Semblance: Yeah, that seems to be everyone's reaction. Maybe I should have asked, "What would be the reaction if Ranma kills Raven and then has to apologize for it to Yang?" Since her death is a very real possibility if they fight. Ranma would try to put her down like a deranged dog.

vimesenthusiast

Hmm....Franky the Lightning King? interesting, and an entirely new idea. 2. Hmm... her attempts to flirt and get into Raffy's good graces as a way to make her grow... hmmm... You're full of good ideas aren't you LOL.

vimesenthusiast

1. If I go with the idea of Raffy eating the fruit, he wouldn't do so until the Thriller Bark arc. Regardless, there is going to be quite a bit of discussion among the crew as to who gets it. - As for Lucci and buffing his abilities, no, I am not going to do much of that, but I might have him Awakened his DF power, and well, there's the whole bit about him being a cat. 2. Yeah, I can see her doing both too. 3. Everyone seems to have missed the point of this question LOL. It was more about Foxy and his crew then it was about the DBF, but I suppose that can be taken as an answer too.

vimesenthusiast

I think i like this idea too. I don't know if I'll go with it, but it is definitely an idea. Especially since Shanks did have the Gum Gum DF...

vimesenthusiast

Thank you for your opinion, and i agree, the main difference between them isn't so much their skill level but their mental fortitude. Ranma has it. Raven doesn't. She never has. She possibly never will. Ranma broke the mold of how he was raised and indoctrinated. Raven has not. Ranma has risen above what would have been his natural limits and would willingly challenge the world's strongest. Rave has pushed her training to its ultimate point but instead of acknowledging there are those stronger and she needs to keep pushing she flees. They are as different mentally as night and day.

vimesenthusiast

And would also make her a frontline fighter and paint a massive target on her back. Would she be happy with either of those?

vimesenthusiast

1. In canon Haki didn't bceome a thing until the Shabondy Archipelago arc. So unless I introduce it in characters who didn't have it in canon - something I probably won't do since I didn't have Smoker or Hina have it and they would be the most likely to - that argument isn't really a good one. The new dynamics in a fight yea, but frankly it would take away A LOT of tension I the story. 2. And you are only the second or third person to mention how Ranma would react to that kind of thing. 3. Didn't ask about the DBF, asked about the Foxy characters and if they were interesting or not LOL. Nah worries, most people seem to have missed that point to.

vimesenthusiast

Everyone who has mentioned it seems to be of the opinion that updating AGGC and Semblance like that would be a great idea so we'll probably be going forward with that idea or something similar. Hope you can use this quarantine time to catch up and that you enjoy my fics when you do LOL.

vimesenthusiast

Stallion 2) Yeah that's my opinion too - that Nami would go for broke, and that Raffy would respond...poorly. 3. Thank you for noticing the distinction in this question LOL. Yeah I think the fight will happen, but as I said, no to the DBF. Bhaalson: I never intended going in for all the dungeon bosses to use the same abilities. The low level ones, those of species who rely on numbers, will have the respawn skill. I might cut down on the number of skills in the future though. As for the respawn... that I will keep for low level monsters - gnolls being at the upper end of that scale. Humans won't ever respawn like that regardless, undead above a certain level no, kobolds yes, orcs, ogres, no. Though I might have their kind of Heart Stone summon champions.

Tellemicus Sundance

Ohhhh! THAT makes more sense! Hm... I think it all depends on whether or not Yang's had a chance to speak with her and get some much needed answers and closure. For her to learn why she was abandoned and all that stuff. If Raven dies BEFORE that, she'll likely never get that closure unless she's somehow able to convice Qrow to tell her about her mother and their childhoods in more detail (which I'm sure he'd be hesitant to do). But she'd also likely NEVER forgive Ranma for robbing her of that. Sure, she may eventually cool down after some time and letting her rage and loss settle, but it'd likely forever scar their friendship afterwards. If it happens AFTERWARDS, then I'm sure she'll be much more understanding. Probably still quite angry that her friend killed her mother, just on principle, but that she'd eventually forgive him and try to become friends with him again. Though getting into a real and lasting relationship would probably be off the table. That's my opinion at least.

Chris

Saw some of your other comment about Raven. The way you've shown Ranma in general in your stories...Ranma doesn't go for the kill unless the situation demands it or the person in question is irrevocably evil. It depends on how the confrontations/meetings go but (again, depending on how you want to use and write Raven's character) she could be redeemed by Ranma because he represents everything Raven could desire to be. Besides, Raven would run from a fight with Ranma before Ranma would be forced to kill her. It would depend on whether Raven's done something to warrant Ranma killing her from the very start of the fight. And if Ranma was to kill Raven, again Yang's reaction would depend on the situation. With the way Ranma is, if Raven fought him to the point he was basically forced to kill her, Yang would be put out, would be angry to start with, but I think she would get over it, would understand how he was forced to do so. And Qrow, for all his faults, would if necessary sit down and tell Yang the hard truths about Raven if he felt it would help her get over her death.

vimesenthusiast

agreed. In canon, it has to be a dunking, of at least a body part in the ocean.

vimesenthusiast

I've tried that before on Semblance, Hasn't worked for it or AGGC all that often. Rargh. Raven... a little too pat. And Ranma might not have any mercy for her after learning about her bandit activities. You're the first to remember about the WG's hardon for logias, well done. But while the Lightning fruit fits her skill set, I have yet to be convinced she would willingly go through with eating it even if she could somehow use it in such a way as to avoid people realizing it is what it is. I am not going to give Ranma a zoan. Too easy. Hmmm, an early introduction to the neko-ken though that is a great idea. The marine base is not canon - it was a anime only filler arc. Check out the new small story poll for may then.

vimesenthusiast

Ah, but all of those men are middle-aged or better. They've had twenty-plus years on Ranma, and yes, they are strong, but could they beat Blackbeard after the War of the Best? Or could any of them have beaten Whitebeard one on one? No. There are stronger monsters out there than Garp/Dragon/Rayleigh. Shanks... heh, that would be telling. 2. Go for broke it is LOL. 3. LOL - a lot of the foxy pirate arc in the anime is filler. Same with the G-8 arc. I may have the Foxy pirates face Buggy later on, but yeah, a bit of ab eatdown is in their future.

vimesenthusiast

That seems to be something of a consensus - that giving it to him would be too much at the present moment. I kind of think the same, which means the decision is between letting him hold on to it until the War of the Best, or giving it to someone else.

vimesenthusiast

Stallion1. Yeah, I'm leaning toward it not being used until later, if ever. He has come a long way with just his hands, feet, ki and Haki. The Climatact is going to come about in the next two chapters. 2. Hmm... okay, I hadn't thought of the idea that her goal would dictate her strategy to that extent. You've got a good point there. Maybe I will need to use some more introspection with her scene in the next chapter. 3. YEP. We agree on that. But yeah, Aokiji is going to show up there, and he and Ranma gonna rumble.

vimesenthusiast

1. I'm leaning toward the same conclusion. I would LOVE to write him curb-stomping on Moria but yeah, it would make everything anti-climactic. 2. Hmm... but you forget it's a competition. One she is losing right now. She would much prefer to be the one and only in the relationship, only settling for a piece of the action if she has to. 3. Mmm, the next chapter is going to be the downtime chapter. the stompage of Foxy and co. would be fun, true, but not something I'd waste a full chapter on. Semblance: 1. I agree she's self-centered, but she is also very much a ends justify the means girl, with about as low a level of empathy towards her fellow man as any bandit bitch would have.

vimesenthusiast

I'm going to copy this out into my 'ongoing Stallion notes. That way I will have it as a reference, and can make notes about the fruits/combat styles along the way.

Tomon

This was pretty hilarious spell check 😄 I honestly would like to see what would 'good girl devil fruit' be like

vimesenthusiast

Patreon – Yeah I think I’m going to go with the idea of the every four month thing. May will be month one, then two more months of large stories, with me voting on the story that hasn’t been updated in the longest period of time, 200 this month, four hundred the next, six hundred votes in the third month if one story hasn’t won the poll in that time. In this way Magic, ATP and Horse should all be updated on a pretty regular basis. Stallion: 1. Hmm… you elucidate the abilities of the Gori Gori no mi in Nami and Ranma’s hands very well. I think I am slowly becoming convinced that yes, Nami needs a power up in the form of a DF. But would now be the best time for her to eat it? I just don’t know. Further, there are others I could see her using, or I could just make one up for her, a very low level Cool Cool or Hot Hot fruit or something that would make it easier for her to control the weather, as it seems everyone and their mother assumes that is in their future. That being said, part of the reason I wouldn’t give it to Raffy right away is also there for Nami. That she would become ridiculously overpowered unless… unless I make it very hard for her to get used to her powers, make her literally unable to use it in any fashion for a while. That’s an idea. That, and her natural desire to be in the background, to use guile and cunning rather than brute force, could also force Nami to spend a lot of time on training so she could hide it. As for Raffy getting the fruit… I will admit I had thought of this as his natural fruit as well. But unless I wait for the War of the Best and the retrieving his brother arc (not going to give any spoilers away) giving it to him now would remove a tremendous amount of the tension of the story, unless I want to start introducing the Marine Admirals during the Water 7 arc. I mean, not even Gecko Moria would be a match for Raffy, not even him and Kuma combined if he ate the Lightning Fruit. I just… I don’t know. That’s the long and short of it. I can’t make up my mind. The idea of giving it to Nami seems… wrong in some fashion. It puts too large a target on her back. I can’t give it to Ranma this early since I want him to fight through the Enies Lobby and Water 7 arc without stomping on everyone and everything. He needs to get over his neko-ken for one, and for another, a captain that insanely strong would make for a weaker crew. He would be able to fight their battles for them very easily. So if I don’t give it to anyone, I wouldn’t have him use it until sometime during the Thriller Bark arc. Maybe after he learns another Shichibukai showed up to help Moria. After all… Kuma wasn’t the only other one in the New World at the time… wouldn’t that throw the rest of canon into a tizzy? 2. Nami stated after seeing Raffy and Robin together she wanted to make a play for him to steal him away for herself. If that doesn’t work she might see if she’d be happy with a bit of the pie. But knowing how far behind she is, I can see her definitely going for broke right away. And then falling back onto a slower seduction afrer. 3. They will meet them, but no, no other DF fruits for a long while. I think that I’ve gone to that idea too often already. But yes, some of the crew will still be down with injuries. Not Zoro (chopper: HEY I TOLD YOU TO STOP MOVING) but Makino yes. Luffy however has ki healing. But you, and heck, everyone else, is forgetting Hina and her marines. LOL. That amuses me. {Luffy: Hmmm… that’s a great big ship they’ve got isn’t it? Hina: Hina agrees. Foxy: Why do I feel a shiver going down my spine?} 1. I honestly don’t think Ranma would care so much about her leaving her daughter behind. It would be the actions she and the Branwen clan have taken both before and after she became clan chief that would see Ranma wanting to snap her spine like a dry twig. Remember this Ranma never even knew he had a mother, let alone had any idea she might have left him. But he has an even higher level of ‘the strong should protect the weak’ ideal than in his original life.

vimesenthusiast

Until she realizes she isn't winning and runs away only for Ranma to come after her and then it would be a fox and hare sort of thing. Although I am really leaning for Ranma crippling her then just sort of boxing her up and serving her up to Yang.

Tomon

You raise several good points as always but I also think you and lot of other people have wrong take on Nami with lighting fruit. I will answer properly tomorrow but for now good night :-D

Thomas Edwards

I admittedly had it in my head that Garp in his prime was only just behind Roger and Whitebeard in power. That may be because I never really got much past the end of Fishman Island arc so while I know the rough details of what has happened I haven't gotten there yet( though have been rewatching with the plan to carry through) so that is fair enough lol. I suppose I can't see many people with or without fruits being able to beat Blackbeard after War of the Beast especially after the timeskip if he actually trained with both fruits during it. Thinking about the fruits they may encounter before Sabaody, if she chose any I could see Nami wanting Moria's fruit just for the ability to switch places with her doppleganger and run away better lol. Honestly, as I said before whatever you decide with Raffy/ the crew and DFs it will no doubt work well. Speaking of Moria I am curious about whether this Kuma and Raffy interacted at all during Grey Terminal incident. 3. True, I just remember the first time I watched it thinking "at least the G-8 arc was somewhat interesting and a nice wind down, time to get back into things" then I was hit with Foxy lol!

Patreon: I think this question is pretty much concluded to your liking :) I'm glad the majority of your readers agreed with your proposal. Stallion: 1) First and foremost, I'm still unsure myself who is better option between Nami and Ranma... The rest I will address later. Nami: I think now is especially good time for Nami to eat DF. It was the first encounter Ranma had where he was so close to loosing. She at one point even doubted they could prevail. Also she was just unable to save her friends and allies - some of them even dying. That was harsh reality check and extremely good motivation. And given her device already meddling in this element I think it's one of the few fruit she would eat at all. She could also be the stealthy agile type than can dart in and out of combat instead of weather witch :) But for that she would need to learn Ki in a big way. She is nowhere close and won't be for some time. The Silent Thief technique and Ki space aren't that easy to pull off. DF enhancing this style of combat are few - pretty much the invisibility fruit alone and some others to lesser extent at best. So in the end weather powers as her major abilities are kinda logical :) One of the many Heat based fruit that popped especially in fillers and such could work, but honestly it would have to be VERY good in some aspect so she would actually want it... and I found it lacking. Honestly the only way I can see would be some situation where eating it could save either her or the crew pretty much instantly. And that creates problem by itself given that users needs to learn their powers first :) Regarding her being overpowered. Why not? :) I think she would be actually able to handle majority of Lighting powers pretty quickly. Her power could be the opposite - limiting them. And she is just not the type to outright murder every 'enemy'. So yeah, in serious fight where it's either Strawhats or the adversary? She would be a major power. Otherwise she would actually struggle with herself. Regarding the majority of complaints that Nami is not frontline fighter... Um... with this fruit? Why is that even an issue? Honestly she could be actively trying to leave the frontline and use her powers from distance. It even makes sense. On top of that there is the safety of being logia and thus unable to be harmed by majority of dangers they encounter, this alone would actually sounds very good to Nami. On top of that it enables her to teleport just in case there is something actually dangerous. So not only it's a major powerboost. It enables her to defend and flee EVEN better :) And with Ranma as a captain it's not like he would let her slack from training she was doing so far anyway. Still I can see the crew deciding that she should first be able to fully control her new powers before actively using them and letting the secret out. This could also limit the usage since she wouldn't be using lighting unless it's a fight to death for quite some time. Hell, Ranma could actually come with a limiter - unless she is able to defend against him, she should keep her new DF secret :) Of course the slip would come sooner or later depending on who she would face. But with Nami eating the fruit, I can see her improving in many aspect outside of combat (radar ftw and so on) but actually not making the crew outright overpowered, especially if they decides to be cautious about it. That brings us to the next topic of World Government unhappy with pirates Logia... Well, yes, they don't like that. But would it stop someone in the crew aiming for Pirate king position? Someone who want to map the whole world and all its secret? If that would stop her she wouldn't be on that ship. At best it can give her a pause and make her hide the powers for time being :) TL;DR version of Nami with lighting fruit. She is already target of WG, this shouldn't stop her. The powers compliments even her current combat very nicely, it actually gives her range and play to her strength of cunning and guile (let's electrocute someone without light show and loud noises). It also make her feel safer if she is forced into combat. Ranma: Glad you see this as Ranma natural fruit as well. But the issue here is indeed worse. He COULD decide to hide it unless needed, just to avoid the chance of being chased by Admirals as someone who knows Marine techniques along with possessing one of the strongest Logia out there. But he would still bust it out against the major adversaries. He wouldn't want to play with Moria if someone was without shadow and thus in danger of dying to sunlight. He would also be forced very quickly to use it fully if encountering any Admiral and thus ousting the secret even against Aokiji. And in case he is storming Impel Down to save his brother there is no point of holding back at all. So it would still take away the tension from most fights for some time unless you went very different route than canon (and even then - there is very few danger in Paradise for someone on that level). The best (but little far stretched) thing I could came up with is that Logia is actually not very compatible with Ki at first. He could either negate his own logia powers by using Ki (making himself solid for everyone) or the elemental attacks being boosted by Ki to great extent, but also brutal on his reserves. Something like one basic lighting bolt being twice as strong as Enel's but stealing half of his Ki reserves. He would be forced at first to work on combining his powers together or at least managing to use the separately. But given that he is being boosted by Ki for pretty much anything at this point it would be very hard to work against his instincts. But well, you already used something similar in Making Waves. Not sure if you want to go this route again, but could work. The other possibility is... let him be that OP. Make him hide his powers to some extent. Let him training the crew even more so they could actually fight against some major adversaries on their own - Zoro vs Moria 1vs1 anyone? And even let Ranma curbstomp someone. Yes, it will take away some tension, true. but you are used to work with OP characters anyway :) And there is always the possibilities to throw something in the mix that would actually challenge even him ;) For example not sure what motivation would Kuma have, but I think we never saw his full combat abilities. But I'm pretty sure he actually knew Haki. Hell, he may just want to test Ranma or would be forced to fight fully due to being observed by someone from Marines/WG? Also some of the admirals could visit at different point of the timeline, as for example Akainu is pissed at Luffy already anyway. Some of the old guard could also show up on some mission in the Paradise and so on... :) For example someone like Jack could still want to pick a fight with (get rid off) that ship just fro crossing his path and so on :) Makino: I admit it would be hilarious for both the meeting with Shanks and her Den mother position. It would also enable her to keep up with the rest of the crew going forward, even if I think the majority of readers are selling her short. She is at the moment not the weakest, not at all. While limited she knows both Haki and Ki. She is definitely stronger than Nami and I think even Chopper (exception being the monster form). After all she was winning against Bentham. Something that in canon was Sanji role he struggled and not only because of the fruit trickery. So she is on part with the monster trio from canon during Alabasta time. Her only issue is growth as she is the only one who didn't really get stronger since they started on their journey. Still I think that she is underestimating herself and can go further on her own. Power up her Ki. Work regularly on her Haki and while not on the level of the strongest she can still go much further. What she needs is some major offensive power once her Haki fingers won't cut it. And that for quite some time. Either a martial art + haki attack (something like Sabo Ryusoken. OR the other possibility is a weapon with DF and wow, there are so many options with that :) Others: Someone mentioned Franky but I actually don't think he would go for DF. His position can require him to be able to swim. And true, there are ways around it and him making suits is definitely a possibility. Still I don't really see it. Hehe if you truly want some devil fruit for Franky go with Baku Baku no Mi (Wapol). THAT would be crazy. He could create anything just by having materials. Imagine the possibilities given what he can create already by normal means :) Laki: Interesting option, but I wonder if she would truly go for it... I would say not right now. Aisa: New guarding of the Sky Island? Possible but several issues, be it her age, the fear of lighting that everyone up here now have and so on. 2) The issue is that by trying to be forceful Nami could actually manage to damage the good relationship they have. And that not even counting Robin opinion. Because I think Ranma could be very unhappy about that with what he went through in previous life. So forceful play would result in hard refusal and everyone involved could be quite hurt. Afterwards it may not be even possible to go slowly... 3) Well, it's convenient that they know about the DF 'respawn' but once you know, it's also quite logical to go for it :) Still their luck can run out just by the fact alone that the correct fruit may not be there. They were twice on an island big enough to make sense that the fruit respawned here. But on a ship? Smaller isle or so on? Yeah, the fruit can be easily totally out of reach :) Or they may just not be able to find it, even with Robin exceptionally good abilities for this exact thing :) I think lot of people expect that Hina will at least try to go their own way after Sky Island if they're able to get some ship. If not... Well, I guess they can stick around and then it's a question for how long for it to make sense. Jaya being what it is I can see the weakened marines actually preferring to stay aboard the Resolve, even if they could go back (not sure what you're going to choose as landing point) but if they're there for so long... Stealing Foxy ship sounds fun :-D Semblance 1) Hmm, I disagree with Ranma caring so little about Yang being left behind but otherwise nothing to really add.

GreedOnGreed

Increase it by 50%, 100%, 200%, 400%?

Tomon

True that G-8 was better than Foxy whole anime arc (in manga it was shorter and more bearable) :-D But honestly the G-8 arc was one of the best filler ever and I would rate it on the level of manga Foxy arc at best.

If Kuma were part of the Revolutionary group at Grey Terminal I've never seen a hint of it in canon. He is a high-level Revolutionary yes and would know of Raffy's connection to Dragon, but Raffy wouldn't know him. And would probably not be in any frame of mind to listen to him in any event. Garp is indeed up there in power, but I think that if you took away his wound, Whitebeard would still be well above him in the end. Roger... he was just on a whole other level. But that level too was in their middle-age years. Raffy can't wait that long to get to that level. As for fruits in the future, I think it will be a long while before I do the whole getting a fruit thing again. I've used it twice too close to one another. The next one is going to be more random, and far tougher to get at all.

Thomas Edwards

I think it was during the Marineford arc flashbacks when Dragon arrives at Grey Terminal he's with Ivankov with Kuma's giant form near the back, I but may have misremembered. Since Raffy had mentioned being saved by Revolutionary Army was just curious if he met/ saw any of them and if he would recognise them in meeting again. I can see his meeting with Ivankov being a bit hilarious though :) Fair enough, though until the Marines etc. realise where Crocodile's fruit actually is, it will be quite amusing to see them panicking if they don't see the fruit for themselves everytime a DF user is killed by the Straw Hats, I can especially see Spandam accidently doing something stupid that makes the WG think the Straw Hats have a load more DFs than they actually do lol.

1. I am all for suspending the large story POLL after 4 months for you to finish some of the others that are close to completion.

First off I apologize for not answering your questions sooner. I came back to this post to see what other interesting ideas others had come up with in response to vimesenthusiast’s questions and was surprised to see that I actual had someone respond to my post. That being said on to my reply. ---The following is just my idea of a great devil fruit for Ranma but I acknowledge vimesenthusiast my already have other plans thus making this merely interesting speculation.--- Since the devil fruit that I am proposing increases an individuals ki reserves through the constant tempering of ones body this devil fruit would have two easily identified benefits. First would be longevity. Ki is life energy. The more life energy one possesses the longer they live. The Higher the quality of said life energy the younger one stays. Think of Happy, from the Ranma universe, as having a very large amount of ki compared to other humans but the overall quality of said ki is low thus he can live a very long time but will have an old body. Second would be body tempering. This fruit increases both the quantity and quality of an individual’s ki by constantly increasing the toughness of their bodies cells as their ki increases. Thus the harder they work to temper their body the more ki they will gain, and the more ki they gain the more the devil fruit will toughen their body’s cells in order to contain said ki. Thus a positive cycle is created. From the perspective of others the eater of this devil fruit will gain the ability to continuously temper their body which will make them tougher and tougher and as a side effect, from their perspective, the devil fruit user will have increased health and longevity. Since the majority of people in the One Piece universe have not studied ki or ki manipulation in any detail they do not know how to tap into said ki to increase ones attributes or shape it into an external force. Thus they are unable to use the ki to increase their strength, speed, etc. So, previous users have only benefited from the toughening aspect. I can easily see a previous user becoming so tough that others would have referred to him as an unbreakable wall. The following is a possible string of events that might lead to the devil fruit falling into Ranma’s hands. For most potential users the increased life span would be the attraction of this devil fruit. How many people would give up their entire fortune in order to live just ten more years; let alone a hundred? But then comes the problem of just how dangerous the One Piece world is. There are simply to many people that are able and willing to kill for a few more years of life. Thus comes the problem of all previous users of this devil fruit; being easily killed, since there are many nonphysical ways to kill someone, until it would fall into the hands of a truly devious and evil individual. This evil individual (y) would come up with a method to drain the life energy of the user of the ki devil fruit. This process would by force kill the user thus forcing (y) to pass the fruit to their next victim. However, for the processes to extract any meaningful amount of life energy, the user of the devil fruit will need to go through a long period of body tempering to accumulate the needed amount of ki. This could take up to a decade or two. So how does (y) convince his victim to constantly temper their body over such a long period of time? He finds an idealist child of around ten. Then he convinces them that (y) can help them become a great hero. (y) feeds them the devil fruit and then cultivates them over a long period of time all the while motivating them with stories of heroism and glory. And then he betrays them, devourers their accumulated life energy, and finds the next idealist child. As a side note, since (y) is not using the ki devil fruit of course they will have a different one for themself. So Ranma stumbles onto (y) and their latest victim, a young man (x). Ranma feels the vast amount of life energy in (x) and talks to them. (y) has so perfected their old mentor/teacher/master act that they even, initially, fool Ranma. Ranma excitedly tells (x) that he can teach (x) how to manipulate his life energy to increase his physical abilities and even use it in ki attacks. He even demonstrates this to them. This excites (x) but terrifies (y). (y) can not allow their victim to gain the ability to fight back or escape and the abilities Ranma has demonstrated are terrifying. So he convinces Ranma to find them in a week and ushers his victim away. Ranma does not know why but he feels that there is something wrong and tracks down the inn that the two are staying at. He goes through (y)’s belongings and finds a diary in a well hidden pocket in (y)’s traveling pack. He reads it and then goes looking for (y) and (x). However (y), feeling pressured, has already drained (x) and taken the devil fruit back. Ranma outraged fights (y), who is very powerful, kills them and ends up with two devil fruit; (y)’s and the ki devil fruit. Note: (y) could be male or female.

I hope raffy have the fruit and no foxy pirate

I'm picturing someone who looks like Bo Peep from Toy Story, but who has Gilgamesh's Treasure Trove hidden under her skirt. She can't curse or mess up her hair and gets all embarrassed when shoving her legs as part of her letting her mass o' gory death loose.

Okay, finally a full reply here. On Patreon, yes that seems to have won a resounding vote of approval. I really liked seeing that. Stallion: taking away the issue of a water attraction, there is still a freaking ocean to be crossed. As for personality, I can see Ranma taking the fruit. Story-wise, not so much any longer. I think the way forward will be for Ranma to push himself as hard and as far as possible with his physical skills and Haki, then have him wonder about a DF when he still comes up against people he can't beat. Like present Day Shanks/the other Yonkou or Future Blackbeard. I am not honestly a fan of the whole damsel in distress thing - I prefer for most of the girls I work with to grow to be able to at least stand on their own feet if not to always look after themselves. That is partly why I have been struggling with Nami. She talks a big game but is also one of the first two canon-wise to run. However, giving her the Lightning Fruit feels... I don't know. Rushed. Like a bandaid over a wound rather than actually healing it. Especially given what I have coming up in the next chapter. It's possible, but only after she really tries as hard as she can to better herself in another fashion. Makino is... certainly a possibility. We shall see. As for Nami's strategy going forward, I think it is her thinking that she is in competition with Robin that will be pushing her to jump the Horsie. Foxy pirates - yeah that seems to be an idea going forward. I might go with a derivative of that. I think we're looking at Branwen differently here. You're looking at her as a long term source of comedy. She is in no way a female Kuno - she leads a group of bandits that use the Grimm to clean up after their raids so no evidence is left. If Ranma finds out the lengths she and her people have gone in their raids he won't give a damn who's mother she is, the bitch will be broken.

vimesenthusiast

Yeah, that four-month idea is a go. I will start the three-month rotation this month and then go forward from here. AGGC is finished and off to Hiryo BTW.

Paul Condra

1. I think the lightning logia DF should go with either raffy or nami. 3. the Foxy pirates don't really deserve any word time based on canon. perhaps it could be a chance for raffy to get the slow/slow fruit? (forgot what it was called and didn't bother to look it up)
