Hey guys. So, I have several short Patreon type questions, a few larger Patreon type question, and an opinion question. None of them have to do directly with my various stories, but the could impact their future.

First, the easiest. A few months ago, I was asked to post a story in Adobe Acrobat format. Would anyone like me to make this a permanent fixture?

Second, and sort of connected to the above. On Halloween, Fanfiction.net ran into problems, a lot of them, which blocked the latest chapter of FILFy from being visible there for five days or so via the website. It was still available via the app, but I also combated this by posting the story here in word doc format. Should I keep doing this in the future? I guess the question is, is the word document format easier to read/better than the fanfic version.

And now for the larger questions. I have greatly enjoyed the homage episodes I’ve been doing recently, and not just because they were astonishingly easy to do. Even with the episodes I had to write with practically nothing from the original I did so very quickly, barely spending a day at most, then an hour or so to go over it after Hiryo got them back to me. But this also has given my Ranma fans something to read during the month. A bag of popcorn rather than a full meal, but still. So here are the two questions from this point:

1.  Has everyone enjoyed the ability to choose-your-own adventure?  I know almost all the time the various choices haven’t exactly been close but still…

2. Are smaller snacks a better way to give you, my patrons more food overall than the Patron only poll?

Now, here is what I was thinking:

Looking at the December present poll, it seems that the new HP/WoW crossover idea is going to win hands down, unless all of my editors voted for Heroes of the High Seas. Since this is going to be a new story, I could try to write it as a choose-your-own-adventure style story. This way, I could give my HP fans the same five peace nugget-sized episode-type stories to bite into during the month.

…Please excuse the food-related analogies, I just started a new diet this past week.  It’s die with a T, that’s what it is!

If people want me to pursue the HP Addventure type format, that will have implications to how much time I can devote to the other Patron Only stories. Because, and this ties into the next question, making even short 5-7,000 word episodes without any kind of starting point would take time.  Especially if I try to match the update schedule I have been keeping with the Homage Episodes.

Beyond that, the next question to be asked about the Homage episodes is are they interesting enough to continue?

By January at the latest we will be done with everything from the original Wonder About Zero Addventure thread. After that, making new episodes will take more time, and will have to be planned for. I like the story, but what do you all think going forward?

But here is another idea I wanted to run by you all in order to give you more stuff to read mid-month:  I could cut down on the size of my Patron Only story chapters. I would have to start the first such vote on the heels of November’s ending, but then would post a 10,000 word or so chapter near the start of the month, followed by a second patron only poll for the remaining two stories later that month. The next month (January) the first story updated would be the loser of the previous two polls, and would be updated, again, in small snack scale.

There are a lot of good points pushing towards this.  1. This will let me update all the Patron Only stories would progress in two-month blocks. 2. Smaller snack-type meals are easier to plan around.  3. Planning them is much easier, as they basically block my desire to world build beyond a certain point.  4. In this way, I can combat specific-story burnout. I can’t deny that the last two chapters of MW have come close to doing this.  5. I think, although this could just be me, that the smaller episode format also lets me check over my work and make certain there are fewer mistakes more easily.

Note these questions are not polls. I am just asking for everyone’s opinion on them.

And Finally, what is everyone’s idea about Archive of Our Own? Given the Halloween Troubles (patent pending) that Fanfic ran into, I have been asked numerous times about moving my stories there over the past few weeks. The problem is, I don’t really like the look of AO3, I think their tag system is a crapshoot and their security isn’t as good. Although adding pictures into some of the stories could be nice…

So again, what all is everyone’s opinion on this idea.

I've been loving the re-immaging of the Addv thread you have been doing, I'd personally be happy to never see another chapter of FILF again, but I've made my thoughts on that particular story are your portrayal of characters in it clear I think, so I won't rehash, write what you feel like, post where you want, as long as you can read it I'll be happy /laugh

Icarus

The smaller bite size chapters is a good idea. For the hp one you said you didn't have a formate would continuing old works that are abandoned but you like an idea or even rewriting them? I think the new wow/hp story I would like to not vote on what happens. I like the asking for opinions but not having to stick to them. AO3 is an okay site but again a bit of mess at the same time. I think uploading the chapters as a pdf here as well would be nice middle ground incase of problems again. But I personally read on fanfic just for the dark theme. I think that is all I wanted to write

NTLuck

I like the pdf format for chapters. I'll abstain from giving an opinion on the other matters though, on a side note, if you are planning a new Ranma story have you thought about what we discussed a few months back?

Titan7

I really hope you update Heroes of the Sea in the future. It's such a great story and would love to read more about it. I know this message doesn't answer anything above but I will make sure to post a separate message regarding your regarding above later. Sorry about this.

No to Acrobat Format Yes to doc format I have enjoyed the ability to influence the direction of the story Please continue the Homage episodes

John Druitt

I would like to see what you do with a HP WoW crossover. I agree with Icarus that asking for feedback or seeing what aspects of WoW lore people would be interested in seeing inserted into the story is one thing. Having to stick to a story thread or arc B/C it got the most votes detracts from the story You create. To be honest I woule get more enjoyment out of what You create then I would out of story by democracy. In the end we are all here B/C we like the fics you write if we were not we wouldnt be your patrons.

GreedOnGreed

Word and Acrobat are not needed if they give you additional work. no AO3. Continue Wonder of Zero in this version but without the choice of adventure and the same if you were to do the other HP story.

frank schellingerhout

word or acrobat reader is fine like the idea of having the HP/WoW story in smaller chapter am pro AO3 sure things could be better but atleast there improvement and proper comunication on AO3

Gilicze Laszlo Balazs

Hi Vimes! Yay for acrobat; word document vs ff.net format: meh, whatever gets the chapters to us faster. Large questions: 1. Choosing is awesome and it should continue into the next year and past the original scope of the adventure story. 2. Yes, please. Having something from you to read mid-month (something that isn’t re-reading Stallion for the third time) to hold us over while waiting for the new full chapters really helps. HP/WoW: sure, why not. I’m game if you want to play with it. Wonder about Zero Homage Episodes: HELL YEAH!!! …khmm… sorry. They should continue on, past the original and into the 4-500k word-counts (or higher), where they rightfully belong :D Patron only: Bite size is good. Bite size gets us our meals faster (hmmm shushi…:P…). MW and SBH could both be more episodic and they wouldn’t be any less interesting, I think. And if we’re already talking about small bites of tasty story nuggets, then maybe we could also have a bite or two of that quirky green cinnamon roll you’ve been teasing us with since last Christmas. Just saying ;) AO3: Meh… Thanks for the awesome stories and keep at it :D

vimesenthusiast

About opening up a discord channel? I've thought of it on and off. I might start it up in January, if I decide to, but we will see. I've tried to open up discussion threads here for the various stories and the idea never really caught on, but we can see.

Chris

One thing to consider regarding the downloads. The big plus that AO3 provides is the ability to download stories in multiple different formats. Whatever works best for each person basically. As for shorter Larger style stories, I would not mind that at all as I enjoy all of what you have written. So having the adventure style stories being bite size but taking a little from the larger ones is perfectly fine. I really want to see more of the WOZ story., the world building potential long term is definitely there.

vimesenthusiast

two minutes of letting the program format itself. I wouldn't want to continue like it was channel, since that was the whole point - I wanted to play with the idea of choose your own adventure type writing. As for HP, it's format is indeed in question here. I'm just curious what people think.

M B

For the HP Wow crossover, I think I would prefer you controlling the story over people voting. I've never really been a fan of "quest" -type stories where the readers vote for what happens. For the patron only stories, I like the idea of smaller updates that ensures they all get updated at least once every two months. I like AO3, especially the ability to include as many tags (and characters) as you (the author) want, and especially the ability to filter out things you don't. The only thing I don't like is that there is no way to distinguish main characters from side characters and some authors include everyone who appears once. Sadly they aren't planning on changing that, since there would be tons of stories with no one listed as a main character, but for the most part I like it better than fanfiction.net. In recent years, ffnet has gotten downright hostile, to both readers and authors. Between blocking highlighting (easily circumvented), censoring any mention of patreon as well as anything that looks to their filters like a website, and redirecting all bio URLs to the bio page, it's like they want people to leave. Their lack of response on the recent issue (taking almost a week to fix it, and they still haven't acknowledged that it happened) just hammered it home even further. That's from a reader perspective of course, no idea if it is better or worse to post stories on.

Kariston Draconis

PDF: No thanks, I prefer your stuff in DOC format because that way if I spot a small mistake I can fix it easily. FF or DOC: Eh, either or is fine. Homage: 1. I think once you get past the original then the voting might even out, maybe. 2. I'd really prefer both, if I'm being totally honest. I have no interest in the HP/WoW crossover, so personally I don't think it should be done in the style of the Homage. Give it a teaser chapter then forget about it until you've finished some of your other stories. I'm not a fan of the idea of smaller Patreon Only chapters, but if it means SBH gets updated more frequently, I might be able to live with it. AO3: I'd say post your stuff to both FF and AO3, a bit of redundancy is always good for this sort of thing.

Christophe Kamphaus

In doc format it's easy to export the story it in whatever format is most convenient for my device (pdf, epub), while with pdf things like font size are fixed. I prefer the design of FF over AO3. AO3 story lists are not horizontally centered and due to long summaries (often of poor quality), much scrolling is needed to find interesting stories. Similar when entering a story on AO3: often we need to scroll almost a whole screen before the story even starts. In contrast FF makes it easy to search for an interesting story. The short summaries really distil the essence of the stories and when clicking on a story link you can directly start reading. It also helps that FF provides tools to easily adapt font, for the best reading experience. Unfortunately every few months FF seems to have synchronization issues, which prevents new content from being available to some users for +- 1 week. For now I can bear with FF's faults. I'm looking forward to the HP/WoW story.

Justin Sully

Redundancy is always good and honestly, ao3 at least seems to communicate when there are issues. I'm kind of torn on the HP/WoW story, I'd generally prefer consistent control of the author, but people seem to be enjoying it a lot.

Delphinous

i prefer reading the stories on FF/net but i do not mind having them available in a downloadable format through patreon i personally am not really a big fan or choose your own adventures, and haven't been reading them, so i am very against the harry/WoW becoming one. i got the impression that the harry/WoW story would allow for a great deal of world building and exploration, due to is taking place over vast stretches of time, and i feel like making it into a series of short story choose your own adventures would basically invalidate the parts of the the story i was most looking forwards to. for the patreon only stories, i'm a big fan of worldbuilding so i don't mind the stories being slower, but bigger. cutting them down and reducing worldbuilding just to get them out faster feels like a sad waste to me. i think it would work good if you had more of a mix, some smaller chapters, but occasional bigger ones to still allow for the worldbuilding and other more major things that short stories cannot handle as well. obviously some stories would need bigger chapters more often then others, but i feel like that would preserve the quality, but still let you put them out in smaller increments in between. so, overall, i wouldn't mind the hp/WoW story in smaller chapters, but i think it would lose most of what would make it interesting if it became a choose your own adventure. in the teaser, you made it aparent harry would have some enemies and some allies, but he wouldn't be strictly 'for the horde/alliance' and unfortunately, people who played WoW often ARE one or the other, so a choose your own adventure would likely devolve into whichever side has bigger representation in your voters winning and attempting to drive the story to be 'harry joins X' instead of the really interesting outsider looking in perspective you threw to us, and i feel like it just wouldn't be nearly as fun of a story as for AO3 i don't use it and have never enjoyed it when i tried before. if you want to post your stories to it in addition to FF.net, i'd say go ahead, but if you want to abandon FF.net for it i'd say i wouldn't like that. i like the stories enough i'd follow to keep reading them, but i would be unhappy overall with the migration

Delphinous

honestly, i'd prefer to wait until you finish 1-3 more stories and get proper time and effort devoted to the HP/WoW story, with maybe 1 chapter a year as 'teaser' in the meantime, rather then devolve it into some sort of a choose your own story

AR

Adobe - I could see that being useful for larger stories, or when you hit certain milestones. I wouldn't use it every chapter, though. Word Doc - fanfic is generally more convenient, but having a backup is very useful at times. 1. Has everyone enjoyed the ability to choose-your-own adventure? - very much so. the relative frequency of updates is nice, and there have been some key decisions it was nice to weigh in on. For my part, I think it would work better to have the polls focus on actual divergence points rather than which scenes to write (that happen in the background anyway). Or maybe use weighting to determine how much relative focus a particular section gets... that's kind of how it's worked out anyway, just make it more formalized, I guess. Are smaller snacks a better way to give you, my patrons more food overall than the Patron only poll? - I'd say yes. Beyond that, the next question to be asked about the Homage episodes is are they interesting enough to continue? - YES I could cut down on the size of my Patron Only story chapters. - it sounds like this would be a much better path for you to take, and a more energized, un-burned-out author is all to the good. :) No real opinion on AO3, but if you're thinking about mixing media in the stories, that could be a bonus for Patreon that's bundled as part of the PDF/Word docs.

Netveiwer

Word doc is nice for download purposes for my knidle but not a big deal one way or the other. I love the homage and like it when its applied to ranma. Hes a chaos magnet and the sudden twists make sense. I can see this style at the start of the harry/WoW when you are introducing him to the world but honestly I love your longer chapters which build a more serious story.

Brody Meech

i don't really care about the adobe. I like reading your stories on fanfiction. i like the bigger chapter over small chapters and i don't really care for the choose your own adventure stories.

Scott

I don’t think doing the choose-your-own-adventure type format would be a great idea for the HP/WOW story. In my experience when the direction of a story is decided by the fans, the story as a whole tends to suffer. We can only see in the short term, so we don’t know the long-term repercussions of the choices that we make. It’s sort of like when you asked if Harry should be paired with Tauriel in Fate Touched, I didn’t really care that much about that specific decision, it was the long term consequences that concerned me, but I had no way of knowing how those would be affected. I think that this would work better for a shorter story, but this one seems likely to turn into another epic. Even going beyond that I think you have WAY too much on your plate to add a new story right now, beyond a teaser chapter anyways. Try finishing a few of your current stories first. I am not interested in the current Homage episodes, so I would vote against continuing it. Right now they work to give you a palette cleanser of sorts because they appear to take much less effort, but if they suddenly get more challenging then that defeats the whole purpose. Then again, I’m biased because I don’t read them and would prefer it if you worked on the stories I do read. Just to be clear, you are suggesting putting out more updates on your patron only stories without changing the overall word count per month. Is that correct? If it is then I’m behind this 100%. Partly for the reasons you mentioned, but also because I’ve always disliked how infrequently you update relative to how much you write. It’s always felt like famine or feast with you, with nothing in between. This month was nice because we got the MW update during the middle of what is typically a famine. It’ll also make it easier to remember what’s going on in each story if the gap between each update isn’t as long. I imagine it would make things easier for your editors as well if their work was a little more spread out across the month. I prefer the fanfic site personally. I’ve been using it for years, and this is the first time I’ve seen a problem like that. At least for that length of time. Unless it happens again, I’m willing to accept that the Halloween Troubles (great name, but the patent office is notoriously slow) were a one-time thing so I wouldn’t make any drastic decisions based on that. I also think it is more widely used which gives your stories greater exposure, although I could be wrong on that.

Bryan Hayden

I'm fine with either Doc or Adobe, the only thing I would suggest in regards to it is perhaps making your own google doc drive and give your patreons access to it. It would make accessing those files for download at lot easier, especially if you still have all the files for your current and past stories. As for WoW/HP, id prefer it remain primarily in your control, though if you wanted to include polls occasionally, that could be fun. As for fanfic vs ao3, I prefer fanfic, but I use both so I'm fine with either. Patreon story size wise, I think reducing their size to allow for more variety is definitely fair. Regardless, you've been doing amazing so far with everything, so I have faith that won't change regardless of the circumstances

NTLuck

That too but I meant the Romance of the three kingdoms Xover with Ranma

MADHUR PODDAR

All of the items below are personal opinion reader discretion is advised...... 1. I think that you can upload chapters parallely on patreon as well as FF, as for pdf or word either way is fine. 2.Homage style CYOA story is good but personally I think that you do your best work on meal type stories 😉, so once in a while when you see yourself pressed for time then go for a homage episode like story, otherwise stick to your own thing. 3. I think if we democratise every story for episode style then it loses its charm if long form reading and world building which is a USP of yours.I am here to read your stories and opinions are fine. 4.for the new HP/WoW story you can make it an episode style as the lore is too extensive otherwise to stick to any schedule and this also limits the possibility of story to go out of hand like ATP because any WoW work is potentially a ATP style waiting to explode. So go with episode style for this one. 5.I feel that homage episode are good but please give it a closure in January, don't make it EWE work. 6.as for overall bite sized chapters but more volume is a nice idea for patron only stories but please don't do it for small and large story polls, let them be your usual signature stuff. 7.i personally don't like Ao3 but take action based on your needs. That's the longest thing I have written........... cheers

JustDK

That sounds interesting as well o.O... I would love to see a continuation of Wild Wolf with that version of Ranma being reincarnated or transmigrated to the three kingdoms era, that way he already has the experience of politics and war.

Tellemicus Sundance

So, High Seas Heroes is basically destined to be a nonentity for the foreseeable future. For some strange reason, this very depressing revelation doesn't surprise me in the least anymore. As far as the CYOA format, I honestly find it to be very, very, VERY aggravating because the options chosen by the uneducated masses frequently cause the supposed storyline to veer off in random directions that make little to no sense. I'd much rather you went back to the classic storytelling with an established plotline. Of course, since majority rules, I'm sure we'll be seeing A LOT more of CYOA stories in the near future. Sorry if my attitude seems a bit...snippy, but I haven't had the best day today and this news wasn't exactly...well received.

JustDK

1) I don't like the Adobe format, I like to read on sites like FFN and AOC. I think the doc format works as well for an alternative. 2) The problems with FFN wasn't to big a deal for me, as long as the site wasn't down permanently. I agree with most ppl that AOC would be a nice alternative. Homage 1) I love "quest" type of series, I never participate but I love reading reading the finished product. Granted I'm not a fan of familiar of zero so I'm excited to hear it finished in January and seeing if something new will peak my interest. 2) I absolutely prefer larger stories or larger chapter over anything small and in between so I will vote negatively for anything in that aspect. HP/WOW 1) I am extremely looking forward to and hoping to see the HP/WOW series next. I'd rather have you write rather then use it as a Homage style since I want to see how you make of the story and your ideas are always interesting. 2) In regards to Patron only story and the Homage taking up your time, I don't really care for Patron only stories, what I'm more interested in is seeing stories im excited about being written more often, so whatever option gives me stories like that (HP/WOW, Horse for the Force) would be the one I would vote for.

Clint Sanderson

HP/WoW: I'd prefer you write where to take it rather than CYOA style; WoW is absolutely massive, a CYOA could get lost & confused very easily there.

Morde24

HP/WOW I would much prefer you to write out the story as its own world, whether it is in small bites or large stories I have no preference (assuming about the same word count per month). my only strong opinion for that would be NOT CYOA, I have always enjoyed your story choices and would like to see how you would do the crossover not how the Patrons would. Small Snacks vs Big Snacks: I have really been enjoying the Addventure Homage episodes, and I think that overall I would enjoy the Small Snacks more. I feel like I get more content from say 10k small snack words over 10k big snack words because (in my opinion) sometimes you get to caught up in ensuring that the world is meticulously built, and write out what I would see as your own worldbuilding notes as story words. Now I have no problem with seeing the whole world but I feel as if the extra time you spend fleshing out every single part of every single world you write actually dilutes the story as a whole instead of helping it. Furthermore if world building to the extent that you generally build can burn you out from a story I most emphatically say no. One thing I have really been enjoying is the Bhaalson remodel chapters. I have almost no idea what the world is like (I have read the Dark Elf trilogy and a few other books so I know general world stuff but I dont know (or remember) anything specific but I also feel as if the world building you have done there is just enough for me to not have questions but it hasnt really switched to other peoples perspectives and the Hermione side plots are nice but I feel could be covered in a short explanation whenever the worlds connect (even though that's not your style)

Bantaa

Prefer u write it out over cyoa. I enjoy cyoa but feel the wowhp story would be better if not cyoa

Mattysc42

I’ve definitely enjoyed the adventure homage and want to see it continue. I have no preference for chapter size, though I would like to see some of the current stories finished before you start more projects. I’m not a fan of AO3’s design and won’t use it, but I certainly won’t argue about having your stories posted there for redundancy. Cheers!

Byte6d65

I would say keep posting on FF, but also to AO3 as a back up. I admit I hate the tag and search system at AO3 and the lack of display options. However the one plus AO3 has for me is the ability to download the entire story in epub directly. Since I use a e-reader 90% of the time due to eye strain issues, being able to direct download vs using a conversion tool like fanficfare is much faster and easier.

zagan

Adobe: Yeah why not ? In case of another problem with ff.net Word: It was nice to be able to read the chapter despite ff.net but it's less practical. 1. Yes I really enjoyed the vote, the only problem is that their's always an option that is objectively more statisfying 2. No, one small regular story is very nice but I really enjoyed the bigger chapter of the other story. Not a fan of archive of our own and it mean getting alert from one more site.

GamerontheBeach27

I would say keep posting on FF unless or until another Halloween Troubles event happens again. It could just be a one off event during a holiday. I would also say to use AO3 as a backup, but I have trouble with the word documents. I like to read FF stories on my ipad, i tend to clock about 22 hours a week reading ff stories on it with the reader view on ipad and I continuously refresh the webpage until i get reader view on my stories.

Razgriz0x

Thoroughly enjoying the CYOA with Ranma/FoZ. However considering just how big WoW is, it may not be a good idea to use it for you HP/WoW story. AO3 is ok. Can't really say more than that. I prefer the meals you normally give us. The CYOA being bitesize works, but not for all your other stories. What you've been doing works. I say keep it up.

Slider

I'm a big fan of AO3 honestly and if you hadn't brought it up I was going to mention it. The tag system can be both awesome and frustrating at times, but it's leagues above the 4 person limit that FF has. Similarly, you can limit the comments to registered users/moderate any comments left on stories so you can keep trolls/flamers from it. It's slightly better moderated too so I have yet to see the rampant plagiarism problem that happens to a lot of the more prolific people on FF. There's no issue with NSFW items either same as with FF too so no worries there. I like AO3. As to pdf formats...There are plus sides, but in general if you're going to bundle your story into an actual format, I would personally prefer an epub or a Word doc. Both of those can be easily turned into a pdf while a pdf cannot easily go the opposite route without issues or paying money to third party software.

Zachrey Mueller

for the second question: no, the fanfic version is easier to set your place on mobile when reading the stories. however it is nice to have the word docs just in case. for the 3rd question: I like the homage episodes however i think the harry potter/wow crossover should not become something similar. If breaking the stories down slightly helps you with writing them, then I am definitely all for it, especially with the two month schedule, as it would us all to read our favorite stories with less of a likely hood of popular demand not allowing some of the less well liked stories to update. as to moving the stories to AO3, I would say that it wouldnt be a good idea. Like you said the security is less than great there and it would make finding your stories more difficult. granted the idea of pictures is an interesting idea, however sometimes words are better than a picture

Hiryo

About the Adobe files. Nowadays there are easy ways to convert files into pdf either via Word itself by safe as PDF, or via programs like PDFcreator print to pdf or via internet conversion websites. On the other hand, since it’s so easy to click in Word save as ‘pdf’ this would be easier for these which read it via their smartphones ‘dark mode.’ It would be OK for me if the pdfs version are additionally saved and attached. Personally I use/prefer the Word files. For your second and last question about if ff.net chapters are not seen, I for one would propose in accordance of your other question about AO3 that you post there AS WELL and thus alleviate this problem in itself. Furthermore, there is the added benefit that there the user can download the story directly to html, pdf, epub, mobi and azw3. If you use just the chars/pairings or so as tags that should combined with the story rating be enough already. I would as well like you to post there. You should as well get some more people to read your stories and maybe join you on Patreon as well. Another good point for AO3 is that the search for certain tags and pairings is so much easier! Or in my case exclusion of RanmaXAkane paring and thus not getting Akane paired up with Ranma. Such bliss that is! Homage questions: 1.) Yeah, I have enjoyed the ‘choose-your-own-adventure-vote.’ 2.) Smaller snacks helps us Ranma fans over periods of no chapters a lot! HP/WoW/Heroes of the High Seas ==> Only comment since no Ranma is that please finish some stories of yours up before continuing with others. The Homage Episodes are absolutely interesting! Wonder about Zero being finished in January. ==> I for one would think that what you easily can finish is OK, you can continue a different Path and maybe even merge them at some point or split from them from some points, what’s easier for you. You can write another thread and come back to it when you have some inspiration for it, which let you easily write these chapters. For me is that these chapters should have the least impact on your other stories and let you have fun on the same time! Smaller snacks is OK as well as long as my volume of Ranma stories isn’t hampered. ;)

Sisyphus

Hmmm. Lots here but will keep it short as others hav weighed in already. I like PDF over Word, FanFiction over Word. For everything else I vote for whatever gives most, best output without burnout. I am an HP fan coming around on Ranma and everything else so that will always be my preference. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.

Tomon

I think having it in either doc or pdf is nice. But the reading app for ff.net is also okay. Honestly what I think could be nice is to have chapter in doc, but you could actually 'publish' the finished stories as a PDF ;) 1) choose-your-own adventure I'm so lost in the adopted setting that I dind't participate. I would much prefer to start from a different point be it canon or your stories :) Because generally I truly like the choose-your-own adventure 2) I don't mind either way. I don't think we ever need to fear overly small updates with you :) So I'm fine either way -> do what you feel best. HP Adventure type format: I wouldn't mind 'choose your own adventure' story with HP. But I think that the Warcraft/HP crossover is not a good choice. I would go as far as to say it's an awful choice if you wish to mantain some resemblance to the timeline you already proposed. By itself it sounds wonderful and it would be interesting to have Harry such a long time addition to Azeroth. But that exactly why it clashed so badly with readers regularly choosing how the events go. AO3 I also don't like the look of their website and find it hard to navigate. While ff net got its own issues and some awful choices (I will never get over how stupidly they blocked the option ti highlight text) their website looks better to me. That being said I don't see issue with you posting to AO3 as well. But ff net + patreon (doc, pdf, or whole post) seems enough to me ;)

actually not on the CYOA - people like it for the current story, don't want me to expand the format to others. And yeah, I have to say that HotHS being in limbo is kind of annoying. We'll see if I can figure out some way to change that in the future. But I want Semblance of Hope (or Making Waves, could see that finishing in this next year) at least to be done before I try anything.

So i know im kinda late to add something to this but here is my 2 cents: I would prefer seeing you on somewhere like the creative writing forum on either QQ, SV, or SBs in that order, if you make a story only thread or not would be up to you. my preference for QQ comes from the content rules being more relaxed there and thus less likely to get taken down due to a dissagreement or missunderstanding. in case you did not know: SB= forums.spacebattles.com SV = forums.sufficientvelocity.com and QQ = forum.questionablequesting.com (be careful here as there is a lot of lewd stuff here, like handholding(its a qq thing))
