And now for yet another round of questions. This time I am going to split these up into two different posts. My Ranma questions will be here, my HP questions in another post.

My reasoning for this is simple. I wish to open up this posts also so that you, my readers, can ask me questions. I’ve tried this before, and it didn’t work out for various reasons, but I wish to attempt it again LOL. So if you have any Ranma questions – they don’t have to be specific to a story – post them here. If you have HP specific questions, post them over on the other thread. If you have questions like ‘what do you think about this anime/show’ post them wherever, although realize I don’t watch much beyond completed anime seasons and some historical shows.

First I was asked recently which fics I’d start up when ATP/FILFycome to an end. That is easy: GDWHOM once FILFy finishes. I would hope that by that time Semblance of Hope is also at the stopping point I want it to reach, and then would bring back Sword, Bow and Horse for the patron poll. Remember I am going to put it on hold after the next chapter, where we will finish up with the events in Brune. That would make the patron poll between two Ranma fics and two HP fics.  And yes, that means at that point, Death’s Avenger would become a full-fic sized instead of episode style.

Although knowing my luck that just means that Making Waves will be finished before the Semblanceepisodes.

Beyond that… I don’t know. I’d like to get into Heroes of the High Seas, but that idea doesn’t seem to have enough backing among you all. The last thing I want to do is bring back a paused story that would just be among those who don’t get updated often.  I’d also really like to get back into my Homage fic. Call it silly, but that could be a lot of fun.

As for taking on new fics? I think at least three of my current fics need to be finished before I start up something new. As for what… well, if ATP ends, I think it would be fascinating to start up my Ranma/DC crossover and see what people think. On the other hand if I finish both those HP stories, I would feel compelled to also look at one of my other HP crossover ideas, possibly my HP/RWBY crossover.

Now, onto the actual questions (and how this post will differ from the HP one, LOL).

First of all, since it won the small story poll, Stallion of the Line:

1. I am interested in setting up a Kizaru/Raffy rivalry, either in Shabondy or in Whitebeard’s War. But when I look for a video or something about their devil fruits, it always includes the individual in question as well (Kizaru pwns Enel every time) so I am hoping you all can share your opinions on this matchup.

2. Is it just me, or looking back on it, was Whitebeard’s crew a bit… underpowered in comparison to what we have seen of the two other Yonko who have since been introduced? Whitebeard vs Charlotte or Kaidou, Whitebeard wins, sure. But the rest of their crews? I realize that the author had to make the new enemies stronger and all that, but it doesn’t make much sense lore wise, unless they were all just resting on their laurels. Or Whitebeard alone was that powerful?

3. How is everyone enjoying Laki? I am curious since she’s such a blank slate and I’ve been basically creating her personality and combat style as we go along.

4.  Should Jinbei still join the crew, or just be an ally? I would like to keep the ‘crew of dreamers’ theme, and I don’t remember any mention about his. I also would not like to introduce an OP character like him who could further marginalize the secondary fighters like Franky, Chopper and the girls.

Second, Horse for the Force:

1. This is a big one: in everyone’s opinion, are Sora Bulq, Ventress, and Vosa enough in terms of smarts and ability to act as protagonists if Sidious dies? I am seriously debating whether or not, confronted with Ranma’s taunting - with all the myriad ways Ranma’s fucked up his plans thrown in his face – and abilities, that Sidious would just lose his shit entirely and be unable to remember his escape plan. I AM NOT SAYING it would be an easy fight. Just that he wouldn’t get away to fight another day. Which would leave Bulq to continue the Great Plan…

2. Tied into the above. If Sidious escapes, what would the response of the various Confederacy factions be? Remember, the war isn’t even a year old yet, but there have been a lot of tragedies, and Kuat’s destruction. I am just wondering if Sidious is in a position to remove those leaders and take command at this point in the Great Plan. My gut instinct is to say any attempt for him or Bulq to do so would fail or would splinter the CIS. But I would like to hear/read your opinion here.

And last, Making Waves:

1. Children and weddings. Should Ranma have some kids with Erza/Juvia/Jenny before the end of the story, or should I do as I did in Horse of the Dead and end the story with their decision to do so? Further, should weddings occur in this story? I’ve recently been reminded that at this point, some kind of means to formalize their relationships should be looked into, and I am debating how to go about it.

2. Sting and Rouge. What the heck should I do with them? Are they even interesting enough to introduce at all?

3. This is a big one. With all the changes I’ve made, does it make any sense to have that whole dragons from the past coming to attack thing which happened at the end of the Grand Magic games occur here? You’ll note I am not asking about the games themselves. They aren’t happening. I loathe tournament shit.

Thanks in advance for your opinions guys and girls. Remember though, answering these are not the only purpose of this thread! If you have questions, or even suggestions, please feel free to share them too.

My opinion would be a rewrite of lion of light would be awesome

Tom smith

I say yea to ranma having kids before the story ends. A real kick to finalise his adventures slowing/stopping to raise his kids. I reckon whiteboards crew were resting on their laurels as they said there was a stale mate between yonko and the marines and if white beard almost wiped the top brass out even while very sick and dying. Id say slightly nerf kaidos crew to more of a level matching big mom and whitebeards. Other wise I see no reason kaido wouldn’t of tryed concouring the world if he is that much stronger.

Julian Rivera

For Making Waves I would like to see a wedding and some kids and maybe he acknowledges that he is a father to Wendy Isn't the Grand Magic games 7 years away because they didn't get trapped on the island so with 7 years of additional training they would just destroy the dragons don't even get me started on sting and rogue so I don't really see the point

idk

about Horse for the Force, I think at this point the only thing that give Sidious an edge over the others is that he can see both sides given his constant rage interfering with his ability to think and act properly.

Julian Rivera

If Raffy get reincarnated again I would like to recommend the Naruto world and have him be Karin's old brother (so he can learn Uzumaki techniques that he can pass to Karin and Naturo) and have them leave Kusa after their mom's death and then be taken in and trained by Tsunade before meeting Naruto when he and Jiraiya look for her

Lucien Dauntes

I don't really care for the Naruto world, but I admit it would be pretty fun to see Vimes interpretation. :)

DemonRight27

Stallion 3. I think having Jinbei join the crew is still a good idea. Maybe make his dream a continuation of the Queens but with them freeing all the Fishman slaves. Making Waves 1. Having a kid with one of them as like a happy surprise I think would be cool. Having Ranma get hyped about training his kid and being the father he himself deserved would be really cool. 2. Sting and Rogue being like his apprentices would be pretty cool. Or at least them thinking they are hot shit and Ranma beating them up and teaching them a bit would be nice. They could probably actually learn some of his styles since they aren't nearly as dumb as Natsu.

Julian Rivera

Naruto isn't one of my favorite series either but I've always been fascinated by the idea of seals and kishimoto never delved into it plus the idea of Ranma the wild horse vs Han the Jinchuuriki of the 5 tailed horse seems cool

Lucien Dauntes

I definitely agree with you about Whitebeard's crew. Other than the idea of powercreep, it could be explained away as because Whitebeard was dying/aging/languishing before Ace's death so was his crew in sense by extension, I guess. The weakness could also explain why other than pure opportunity Teach took the chance he did knowing he'd probably get away with it. Don't really have anything else to add other than I've loved your addition of Laki so far. Thank you!

Horse: 1. There's a reason the trope is called "The Palpatine". Could Bulq et. al. continue the Great Plan? No, I don't believe they can. Oh sure, they could keep the war going easily enough, kill untold billions and a number of Jedi, even shape the CIS into a new Sith Empire, but there'll be no Galactic Empire, and the Jedi will still be working out in the galaxy, making it less Original Trilogy, and more SWTOR II. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad thing, mind you. At this point I don't know if even Sidious could truly salvage the Great Plan... 2. That said, if Sidious did escape, the reaction of the various CIS leaders would depend alot on the nature of his escape, if it involves something like faking his death, how public any confrontation became, and whether he came out as a leader of the CIS or stayed in the background as the hidden puppet master, known of only by the higher ups of each side. Sure, if he was revealed publicly as a Sith Lord and openly fled to the CIS, there would be individual planetary systems who would defect back to the Republic, but the real power players, the Trade Federation, Techno Union and Banking Clans for example, would most likely see it as their best, and most profitable option, to remain on the side of the guy who very nearly, if not for the actions of one very unusual, extremely powerful, and highly unpredictable human, had the entire galaxy under his thumb. If he's publicly outed and killed off however, with his plans exposed, they might see more profit in suing for peace, playing the whole "We were manipulated" card to try and secure profitable settlements for themselves. Edit: I've been thinking this for a while, and figured I should add it at this point. Ranma sometimes likes to make a big deal about not being a leader, which I personally disagree with, and at this point I don't think he has a choice. There's only so much he can do by himself or even with a small commando force like he has now. In a war as large scale as this, even Ranma needs the sort of brute force that can only be provided by a large troop body. He needs a Clone battalion of his own, one led by a clone with the sort of individuality that not even the Mando's could take issue with. He needs Captain Rex and the 501st.

Kalen D

I don't believe anyone can continue the Great Plan as it was in canon anymore given how the Jedi now have a safe haven on Zonama Sekot. I think Sidious should be exposed and perhaps gravely wounded while escaping but successfully escape to the CIS and eventually rally with Bulq and the rest there after a few months recovery. Currently the CIS has the upper hand with the devastating loss of Kuat and some of the Agri-worlds. Paired with Sidious' knowledge of the locations of the secret shipyards being useful when he recovers, the CIS could still stand toe to toe with the Republic despite them getting their feet under them. I think the story would become even more interesting the further it diverges from canon and becomes more original. You can have Ranma and the Jedi trying to pull a devastated Republic back together considering the fallout of exposing the Chancellor as the Dark Lord of the Sith would leave the Republic government in absolute chaos. Especially if the thought bomb kills many of the senators. You could have it take some effort and time for Sidious to get in control of the CIS with some obvious defections to the Republic but those areas could be in a tug of war. P.S. I love this story. :D

Stallion of the Line 1. Honestly, I think the answer to any fight with them is always going to be ‘Who is better at Observation Haki.’ While the speed of electricity moving through air is lower than lightspeed, the simple truth is that both of them move at speeds beyond any conceivable human (even One Piece humans) reaction time. Meaning that whoever can predict moves out farther wins. Barring any underestimation or specialty circumstances. Ranma is more likely to be able to create those circumstances by lateral thinking, but only if he knows the fight is coming, since once it starts it’s basically already too late to think do to their combined engagement speeds. 2. I always go the impression that Whitebeard had by far the largest crew, meaning part of the answer was getting by with numbers and teamwork. That said, I suspect you’re forgetting that several of his most powerful members were removed from the picture before or during the early parts of the series. Thatch, Ace, and Blackbeard were all somewhat high-ranking members of his crew before series start, after all. 3. Laki is awesome. More Laki! 4. I stopped watching around the time he joined the crew, so no idea on this one. Second, Horse for the Force: 1. On there own…maybe not. Add in Grievous, though, and the answer is almost certainly yes. Remember, he was really the strategic mind behind the CIS and was being actively hamstrung so the Republic didn’t lose. Add him into the mix and they probably have a strong enough side to make the war even uglier than it would have been with Sidious playing both sides. 2. I think a lot of that would depend on how he escapes and how he takes command. If, for example, he fakes his own death then steps in as the shadow-sith leader using a basic or appearance-altered clone? Then he might just be able to take control. Particularly if he plays the ‘true leader only stepping in because his underling went too far.’ In that way, he could actually spin the destruction of Kuat in his favor by claiming he, the misunderstood Sith who just wanted to see the galaxy saved from Jedi and Republic dictatorship, was stepping out publicly to make sure such extreme barbarism was curtailed. Remember, Sidious is a past master at spin control and has the network/influence to spin propaganda basically however he wants to. And last, Making Waves: 1. Oh, for the love of all things good and a few things suspect, please no! I would have thought you would have learned from the struggles of dealing with Jean in ATP that pregnant main characters or kids cause massive complications. All without really adding enough to the story to justify it. Weddings though, are fine. Not sure how many of them would even care, though. These are exactly bog standard personalities here. 2. …who the heck are they? 3. Didn’t get that far in the series.

Readm

1.So first of all the Goro Goro no Mi is the strongest logia as stated by Oda. Just eating it will awaken the users observation haki and boost it to the highest range in existence, in close range you can basically read minds by directly reading the electrical signals from a person’s brain. While considerably slower than the speed of light The user of this fruit can fly and move at speeds of 270,000 mph without losing control unlike Kizaru. This is also the only fruit able to dominate an environment without being awakened. As the user can take control of clouds, natural lightning, and fire their attacks from anywhere within their observational domain while other logia users are only able to attack from their body. While Enel didn’t do this due to lack of training the user can increase the amperage of their attacks as well as the voltage making making their attacks a much higher temperature as well as much more deadly, a lightning strike can reach the temperature of the surface of the sun, see how useful rubber is against that. Now as in Enel showed the ability to grow into a giant lightning form I would assume some level of energy based shapeshifting as well though I have no idea what the limits would be. While kizaru is in light form he can’t see at all even with observation Haki, he is also unable to change direction he can only travel in straight lines, he can also be bounced away by reflective surfaces(this is a fear of his). It’s the same one he only turns a body part into light that’s why all of his moves are so linear he literally can’t throw fakes and once he turns a body part to light it’ll drag him till he finishes it. Also he lacks destructive power at range while his light beams look very impressive and explode when they hit stuff nobody with a bounty of over 50 million seems to have been taken out by one of them. Leading me to believe that there really only on the same level as an explosive cannonball. And while he was stated to be the admiral with the most potential it’s made clear that he’s coasted by on his fruits power and is currently the weakest of the three due to his laziness. It can also be inferred that he is not particularly good at armament Haki as he has never been seen using it even when it would have helped him. 2.For the whitebeard crew I don’t know about all the division commanders but Marco, Josu and Vista could definitely take out Kaidos three calamities(Marco was able to fight both King and Queen at the same time on an equal footing even after using most of his power to suppress the ice oni virus for 30 thousand people). Or big mom’s top three commanders (excluding Katakuri I think it would end up in a draw). I’m assuming the other whitebeard division Commanders are on the level of the flying 6, or big moms island leaders. 3. It’s not that I dislike her I just don’t really have any attachment to her either. 4. Jinbei’s dream is to see the end of slavery. And I will be honest I don’t really think he’s that OP and I really like his character and he’s useful as fuck. On the other hand I do understand adding him in means you’d have to set aside time from other characters. So honestly I like him but if it would subtract from other characters he’s not necessary. Horse for the force. 1.No. It’s not even an issue of if they’re smart enough(which I don’t think they are) it’s that they don’t have the ability unless he leaves them all of his connections and blackmail and money and all the other little hidden details that he has hidden that probably doesn’t exist in any form but his own brain. 2. I’m of the same opinion as you he wouldn’t be able to take control at this point any attempt on his part would lead to a civil war within the confederacy. You have to remember their whole thing was that the Republic was secretly being led by a sith, they would never allow themselves to be taken over. Making waves 1.I feel like a wedding would be a good idea but I feel like you should wait for kids till the story is over. Because honestly I don't wanna read about babies and if you do have him have kids you can't just not write about them. 2.No they were lame in Canon I don’t wanna deal with those suckers 3.No that only happened because in that timeline Gray got taken over by the tartarus demons and killed Rogues cat Frosch which made him go crazy in this timeline the demons aren’t around to turn Grey evil. So unless you wanna have another person who is supposed to be a good guy kill his cat and have the situation drive him mad I say leave it.

Stallion of the Line: I am less familiar with your Ranma stories than I am with your HP ones, and One Piece is not a series that I have followed beyond reading the wiki, but hope this helps. 1) Don't know enough about the series to have an opinion. 2) I would say that it is a consequence of Whitebeard's power, but not because his crew is coasting. Whitebeard is capable of destroying the entire planet if he really wanted to, but is also just a genuinely nice guy. For him, strength is less important than character for joining his crew. Both Charlotte and Kaido are outright sociopaths, so they really value their crew more as tools than people. Consequently they don't really care about character, and strength is a measure of their usefulness, so naturally they have stronger crews than Whitebeard. 3) I think she's great, although there's not enough data on her from canon to make a fair comparison to anything else I agree. Great job. 4) Don't know enough about canon to comment. Horse for the Force: 1) Could you resurrect one of the Sith from the Old Republic era? I haven't progressed very far in this story actually, but do the Ones from the Clone Wars series play a role? Maybe the Son could pick up the slack. I think Abeloth would be released by Sidious' death as well. 2) Not enough knowledge of this series to comment. Making Waves: 1) Ranma was never the settling down type, so it doesn't really matter to me. If it was Harry, family all the way, but Ranma... ehh. 2) I think you mean "Sting and [Rogue]". Well they're dragon slayers, so if you're planning to have dragons play a role, then probably. Keep in mind that they are actually the same age as Wendy (Time dilation at Tenrou Island). Maybe one of them could develop a crush on her or something? 3) It would at least make a good fight scene, and pose an actual challenge for Ranma.

Well, I can safely say that High Seas Heroes has my unwavering devotion!!! Although, I will admit to being marginally interested in this Ranma/DC story you mentioned. As for your big questions: STALLION 4: Lakin is a great replacement for Usopp. What happened to him anyway? HORSE 1: I feel that while they could PROBABLY hold the CIS together, without a high-ranking ally in the Republic, the Grand Plan of Order 66 will be beyond them. Stll, it'd totally be an awesome story! HORSE 2: I agree. As you said in an earlier Author's Note, Sidious's greatest weapon is his anonymity. Without that, he loses a LOT of his political and IMPLIED power. Then again, can you imagine the chaos that would spread if a Reborn Emperor appeared on the scene?! WAVES 1: I say yes. It'd be a refreshing change of pace to see Ranma in an ACTUAL fatherly role, disciplining, raising, and encouraging his children So, absolutely yes!! WAVES 2: Admittedly, these two are total smallfries at this point, but I just can't see them NOT being included. In fact, maybe they tried to establish themselves as the top dogs of Dragon Slayers, having come to challenge Ranma, Natsu, and Gajeel, but were forced to fight Wendy instead when they insulted them as being cowards. After being soundly beaten by a little girl who loudly declared that she was FAR weaker than her big brother, they leave to enhance their training and come back for a rematch when Ranma returns? And this could EASILY lead into the whole time traveling dragons thing later on! Just my thoughts.

A Good Hunter

I'd be up for reading... Ranma-Naruto (since I think he's stuck being the main protag per the agreement with the Goddesses), since it dodges the stupid MC issue.

MANGA SPOILERS STALLION 2. Whitebeard's crew really isn't weak. Think about it: Whitebeard could likely beat each of the Emperor's 1 on 1. Marco was shown to be able to hold off 2 of Kaido's Yonko Commanders at the SAME time. Vista and Jozu were also top-tier combatants, able to fight against Mihawk and Doflamingo. Izo was also shown to be fairly powerful from what we've seen from the raid. Ace was an up-and-comer, about as strong as Jinbei, and if he was given a timeskip to train, would have been much stronger, possibly near 1st Commander level. The rest of the Division Commanders are likely analogues for Kaido's Flying 6, and should be able to fight with them fairly evenly, if not be just a little weaker. However, they outnumber the Flying 6. Not to mention the entire FLEETS of Allies Whitebeard has, who he could call on at any one time. Yeah, Whitebeard's crew really was no joke. It's only because they were shown Pre-Timeskip that we couldn't see Marineford full of Awakenings and Haki Clashes.

Stallion of the Line: 1. I recommend watching the video by grandlinereview titled “kizaru vs enel”. Obviously Kizaru wins that fight, but it also goes into how the devil fruits themselves compare to one another in an intelligent manner, and breaks down the advantages that each combatant has. My personal thoughts are that the light fruit is faster, but is restricted to straight line speed, whereas the lightning fruit is a little slower, but allows freedom of movement, so is superior in that sense as well as being more directly powerful. I think that this is a situation where Ranma has the superior fruit (not by a huge degree), but Kizaru is stronger physically, more experienced with his fruit, and a better haki user. 2. I’m not sure I agree. I think the perception mostly exists because haki wasn’t really fleshed out yet, so we didn’t actively see it during the paramount war. That said, I think Marco is shown to be at least the equal of Katakuri or King and Jozu was just a step or two behind (they both fought admirals, even if they both lost). The average commander meanwhile is easily equal to the average tobbi roppo member, and we didn’t really see much of the lower combatants. I think it’s just easier to see the power of the other yonko crews because they are in direct opposition to our protagonist as opposed to the marines. 3. I like Laki up to this point. I think she fills an interesting role in the crew, and I enjoy seeing how she interacts with the others. It’s a little early to say for sure, but overall I think it’s a worthwhile addition. 4. I thought Jinbe’s dream involves creating lasting peace and equality between humans and fish men. I’m a big fan of Jinbe, but I’ll admit that’s at least partially because he acts as a voice of reason to Luffy, which isn’t really something Ranma needs, at least not in the same way. With that in mind, you might have a point about not having him join the crew. Horse for the Force: 1. In general, I dislike it when an enemy consistently gets away in battle, and seems to have plot armor to protect them until the final conflict. You’ve always done a really good job of avoiding that, so this is an interesting question. It seems to me that Sidious’s greatest assets are: his position (chancellor), his self-control, and his forward planning. Over the course of this story, Ranma has, slowly but surely, managed to erode all three of these, so I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing him brought down early. It would signal a bit of an end to the fight in the shadows thing you had going, because Bulq would take the lead and he is a much more obvious figure. To be honest I could see this going either way. The downside is that it would likely make whatever final conflict you’ve got planned a little less meaningful because it would be against a lesser antagonist. 2. I don’t think he could take public command, but he’s certainly capable of manipulating things in the background. I think that this could result in some blurred lines. Certain confederacy planets would feel betrayed and tricked, possibly switching sides or staying neutral, whereas I could see some of Sidious’s closer allies in the republic doing the same. Making Waves: 1. I would prefer you leave kids for an epilogue style ending. I’m not interested in seeing Ranma with an infant, I just don’t think it works well with his character the way it does with your HP stories. I’m not particularly interested in reading about weddings, but if it doesn’t take up a huge word count, I wouldn’t mind if they made things formal. 2. I think it’s a little too late for them. I don’t see them as being viable rivals, which means that they would likely be minor characters at best. 3. Personally I didn’t think having the dragons attack from the past made sense in the anime to begin with. I think they just wanted an excuse to have dragon slayers fight dragons (other than acnologia). It felt like lazy writing to me, and I would prefer it if you did not go down that same route.

A Good Hunter

Stallion of the Line 1: Light speed attacks? Good lord. Not having read or seen that far in the series I feel like I can’t adequately answer this. I like justlovereadin’s answer though. 2: Well, with a Raffy raised Ace on the crew, training would probably be the name of the game, so I’d imagine the crew would be powered up from canon. Them being underpowered is probably more a matter of power creep than anything. 3: Like her more than Nami, honestly. 4: Not familiar with the character. Making Waves 1: Honestly more a fan of the hand-fasting done in FILFY than anything else, but that’s my anti-wedding bias showing. All for commitment and such, not a huge fan of ceremony or spectacle. Prefer the children to be minimized story wise. We’ve basically seen him raise Wendy already. 2: Who? 3: No idea what triggers it, or if the ripples would stop it.

godUsoland

I think your REALLY underestimating Big Mom's crew. Big Mom's crew VASTLY outnumbers Kaido's. Don't forget, he just has Onigashima's 20,000. Big Mom has an entire archipelago of 35 islands, lead by her Children who are all Highly skilled warriors. Don't forget she has 3 Powerful Commanders (Honestly, I think BM's Commanders are stronger- Cracker's Infinite Biscuit Army would change the battlefield.) Perospero, Oven, Daifuku, Snack, Amande, Mont-D'or, Opera, and Galette are no jokes either. They are all Flying 6 Level. Then add in Big Mom's allies, subordinate crews that marry in, the Homies, and the Chess Pieces. I have another post further down explaining Whitebeard's crew as well. Neither of them are jokes. Plus, if Kaido ever tried to attack, his forces would drop so much trying to beat whoever he attacked that another Emperor (or the Marines) could step in while they are fighting and win.

zagan

Stallion: 1: Not a fan of Kizaru but the rivalry is interesting because of the opposing philosophy of laziness against hard work is interesting. As for power, light sound superior but it require more creativity to use. Without creativity it's reduced to just laser. 3: Really like her, I hope she continue to improved her weapon and those of the others crewmembers. 4: I like Jinbe he make for a good mentor/paternal figure. He does not need to be put in a prominent role, just being there. Making Waves: 1: Weddings yes, or at least a formal engagement could be really cool. Children it depend, if there's a timeskip of a few years at some point it might work, so at the end the child is three of four, it avoid the pregnancy and worst of the childhood. 2: Who? 3: No opinion on that.

Daniel Neil

Stalion: 1. And 2. I agree with Scott and Justlovereading. 3. I like Laki so far. I think I could also see a close friendship or more between her and Franky. Both of them bonding over creating weapons. 4. Jimbei didn't join the crew officially until recently in the Manga. He kept getting sidelined... I can think of three instances where he showed up, did a few things, and said "oh wait... I have to go do something." Then we wouldn't see him for years. Personally, I think Oda did this because he was keeping track of too many people already.

(stallion) 1) Raffy is generally more prepared than luffy ever was to a fight. I kinda feel he would pickup on the weaknesses for kizaru pretty quick after seeing Reighle fight him. This isnt a straight light vs lightning battle either. If kizaru can be blocked from activating his power by haki or sword(mirror?) then i feel Raffy can really put one over on kizaru for a first fight. 2) Whitebeards main crew was probably just as strong, but remember many have gone off to make their own crews. only a few of his early crew remain. the big strength of whitebeard now is the huge numbers they can bring. 3) Laki is doing fine for now 4) i guess it depends on how many more characters you want to write for really. (horse of the force) 1) i dont see any of them being able to take the great plan forward. palpatine was such a huge force among the dark side users that they never really stood a chance against his power. He also refused to allow anyone else to gain enough insight to know everything he was doing (during the clone wars). To suddenly have him gone would leave a huge hole in their information and ability to coordinate the war. I kinda feel though that he would escape even if wounded badly. enough that he has been exposed and needs to "disappear". this would mean he must rely on other dark side users to do his work much more. it would also mean that they begin having thoughts to take his position. 2) the confederacy would probably begin calling for and end pretty quick after realizing their generals are dieing/running away and the chancellor who was supporting them from the shadows is gone. id think though that the dark side users would probably try to claim whatever fleets and personnel they could to solidify their own power base. (waves) 1) kids i feel would A) require a big time skip, and B), take characters out of the action scenes for the most part. kinda feel it would hurt the story going forward unless its needed to sideline someone. formalizing things with a wedding could work though. 2) no need for development, would probably just get stomped on if they do show up. 3) kinda feel if they show up, the current dragon slayers will probably be able to end the fight pretty quick. if they arent going to show up, then why would their plans have changed?

Stallion 1) While I like the idea of a lightning vs light speed rivalry, I generally don't think Kizaru is the type who'd take that kind of thing seriously. His entire character design is pretty much centered around his laid back, lackidazical, and even whimsical attitude. He can be a smug and condescending bastard when faced with weaker foes, and against signifigant foes he can be a bit of a cheeky bastard but I simply don't he has the ambition or attitude to actually consider someone a rival 2) I'm gonna have to say yes and no on that one. While I think that several of Big Mom's children are incredibly imppessive (particularly her Sweet Commanders) and Kaido's Calamities and Togeroppo are impressively incredible, Whitebeard isn't without his all stars. Marco's already proving himself to be quite the badass. Then there's Jizo (who is a superstrong man litteraly made of diamonds), Vista (who even Mihawk acknowledged as a skilled swordsman) and Ace himself. I think the biggest issue with the strength disparity is that we didn't get to see most of the Whitebeards in any real time, only in brief snips during the summit war. Even if his crew doesn't support as many heavyweights as Big Mom and Kaido, he also easily has the largest number of allies among the Yonko. We saw dozens of allied pirate crews showing up at Marinford, more than any of the other Yonko had 'subordinate' to them. And these aren't weaklings and mooks, most likely have impressive members in their own right. So while Whitebeard may not have as many Gold standard fighters, he's got a lot more Silver standard than any of the other Yonko can push. 3) Personally, I like her for how you've handled her so far and am looking forward to see how you continue to develop her. 4) I like Jinbe, he's a very good straightman for the crew's more...whimsical hijinks and he is a Dreamer, he's carrying on Fisher Tiger and Queen Otohime's dream of ending the hatred vs humans and fishman by sailing alongside the next pirate king.

SotL 1) Kizaru vs Enel is obviously Kizaru wins because Enel went the dumb and easy way and focused on power over anything. In terms of speed vs power, Kizaru would be faster than Raffy (who learned to use the speed aspects of the fruit) but is too linear due to using it purely as a laser for attacks and movement. A neat thing I found in a separate fanfic is how you could use mirrors to bounce the admiral if you can get one in the way of his light based movements. Maybe you could turn that on its head and have the admiral learn to leverage that instead of have it as a weakpoint after an encounter or two. Other than that though, I think a naturally speed inclined Raffy with a power fruit and a power inclined Kizaru/Borsalino with a speed fruit would be fun. 2) Underpowered in quantity, sure maybe. But with how Marco basically punked and keeps punking the other two emperor pirate crews? And how bad ass Oden was that it took the Beast Emperor using underhanded non-direct combat methods and lies to take him down? I think og Ace was a) jumped and out numbered and b) was just too fresh to the role. And I think the real power was not just Whitebeard himself, but in his networking. He had so many sworn ally crews and people and territory. Though he definitely was in a decline due to illness and he was ready for his time to end. 3) She's fun. I still like og Usopp more even with him having a few moments that make him annoying, but she is shaping up to be a fine alternative option for the crew. I don't know how you might take her in the future. I hope you find something unique like how ussop got the plant ammo. 4) I mean you definitely still need a helmsman for the crew. He's strong, sure. But I think a straight man like him could still be fun even with the current crew. And as for marginalizing the non-powerhouses, I hardly think they got marginalized even into the current manga chapters for one piece. I won't spoil for those who haven't read that far, but the author is managing expertly with keeping the scaling of power just right without breaking or toppling it at all. And I think you haven't broken it either, especially with the worry of how Raffy's crew is so strong for paradise but not nearly there yet for the new world. Oops, tangent. Erm, anyways with Jinbei, I think he'd dream of freedom as well but in terms of no slaves or discrimination; and sailing with Luffy's crew (which already has a sky person and will soon have brook) all freely living it up would be a living dream for him, especially with Raffy's views on such. No opinions on HftF on these points MW 1) I think something formal could be fun, but children with a timeskip would be nice 2) I don't think they can make a good rival; the age diff might be enough of a tipping point. 3) I honestly don't know, this is where FairyTail started to lose me honestly.

TheLazyShadow

Right this is going to be a long one and since I use Patreon via a tablet a lot of going back and forth. Stallion: 1. You have to remember with Engel is he went for power and just power against any fruit that could trade blows he isn’t a prepared to fight. Raffy on the other hand is smarter so will fight dirty if need, I like the mirror trick I’ve seen used in other fics to bounce light, but the fight going to come down to predicting there opponents actions with skill and Haki. 2. They do look underpowered but we could be nice and call it an off day as bar the admirals all the marines looked bad as well, I’d say the Whitebeard leadership deserve to measure up to other warlords forces, Marco has began to show some a lot more skill in the recent arc and the other should be just below that. 3. I’m enjoying the addition of Laki to the crew, she doesn’t feel OOC as this would be in character for what little we got of her in canon and she fit in with your crew dynamic. Also her fighting style fits better to aerial focus Raffey added that Ussop style. 4. I’d say have Jinbei be a ally and maybe temporary crew but don’t see a pressing need to add him for power the Raffy crew aren’t weak. I’m wondering if Jinbei was added for sun myth exposition. Horse: 1. I’d say if Darth Sidous fall then Sora Bulq could run the sith fine, his training methods had a focus on being able work together if needed and unlike Sidous I would see Bulq willing to take advice from the separatists current leaders and let skill people retain there posts. My vote is on Sidous getting caught for the big battle and a chance to see a different sith trying to keep the great plan together. 2. If Sidous has to escape I can easily see him attempting a full take over and trying to make the Separatists into a new sith empires, and that will definitely fail with the separatists fracturing and maybe even some of Sidous more loyal republicans trying to join his faction. Making Waves: 1. I’d say give us the Weddings yes and maybe indication of a interest in having children, but unless you flash forward I don’t see a point getting to much into it. 2. Not sure at this point they’ed make great rivals, but they would at least show up boasting about being the top dragon slayers, and then getting stomped into place. 3. I’ll be honest the time traveler dragons lost me so I had actually dropped it and re-picked Fairy tail back up in the war. Autocorrect does not like a these odd words, you would think it would recognise Sith but it doesn’t.

Just going to address your question in this post: Stallion of the Line 1) Not sure if Kizaru could be bothered to participate in any rivalry at all. Honestly if there is one marine Ranma may be hard pressed to rile up, it would be Kizaru. Maybe, just maybe you COULD try to play it that while Kizaru almost can't be bothered by anything, there is one thing he is proud about -> his speed. And someone challenging him outright in this category could lit a fire under him? To actually even make him proactive? Lighting vs Light DF is quite interesting match-up I talked about before. By itself I don't think they can actually affect each other at all. For example lighting can get so hot as to actually burn even magma... But how can you burn Light? And vice versa, how can Light hurt Lighting? So it comes down to Haki, both observation (more on that later) and Busoshoku as a means to actually hurt one another. Of course even in its basic form these two are powers are the two Fastest DF out there. And there is no debate that Light speed if faster than Lighting. But from this fact alone comes issue. It's WAY too fast to be used easily. Just imagine what would happen if Kizaru decided to travel for 1 second in any direction but down. Distance of 300 000 km from the starting point is kinda crazy :-D Bye bye planet. And that actually limits him. Especially as it was shown that as a light he is travelling in straight line and cannot adjust his course. While he is clever enough to use reflective surface to get around it. And also ignoring the fact that nobody is going to outrun him, so it's not like he needs to get around it often. It creates an issue nonetheless. Both DF users are moving so fast, that what actually slows them down is reaction speed and how fast are they able to use their powers. And while Lighting can adjust course, change direction and choose the end location even while travelling. Light cannot do that, the process to engage the ability takes longer, since user needs to plot the whole course beforehand. And while the actual travel time is faster, does it even matter? If he lose half a second to engage but is then faster by 0.000001s? Also the need to calculate the whole move makes it easier to be picked up by Observation Haki user. I'm definitely not saying that Observation haki is unable to track lighting, not at all. I'm just saying that if you can read opponent move it's definitely easier to do against the Light user. Now let's see if said Haki user is good enough to make use of the fact that he is going to get kicked at light speed from his left said right about now... too late! Enjoy afterlife! :-D But we saw that Rayleigh and Marco were good enough to do just that :) Overall abilities and powers of the devil fruit in my opinion goes definitely to the Lighting fruit. The Light really does have only one advantage -> it's the fastest there is (in a straight line). But at that speed it doesn't really matter in actual combat when compared against Lighting. Also let just say you need to get on the other side of the island. Light user need to do a lot of separate jumps, lighting could actually adjust his course while in lighting form and get to the finish faster. Of course at that point both would probably make use of the air and then even for Light it would means just two 'jumps'. But Lighting could still be faster as he possibly could teleport to the end location directly. Especially via the boosted observation haki and control of natural lighting ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Someone already pointed the youtube review of Kizaru vs Enel by GrandLineReview and it's well done here. 2) It we would say that Whitebeard's crew isn't as strong as the rest of the Yonko. It would also mean that any othe Yonko can defeat the Marines by itself. I think they weren't weak at all. In fact there are some pretty amazing feet. While we still don't know the exact level of Mihawk he IS called the strongest swordsman. And there were two commander who went against him and didn't get beaten. One of them was even a swordsman himself. They're also capable of standing against Admirals and then we have the sheer numbers. I think the reason that they didn't seems quite up to par to other Yonko's crew is twofold:¨ a) most of them had few scenes at best b) we didn't see the Haki being used, since Luffy couldn't see/sense it either. Just imagine adding Haki to the Mihawk slash aimed at Whitebeard (can't imagine Haki wasn't being use and it was just wind pressure / energy) and Jozu blocking it. That scene would be even more epic if we saw the Haki clash on top of that. Further Marco is strong enough to almost keep the spot of an Yonko himself. And he is doing quite amazing job against Kaido top men. 3) Laki is superb, I think she picked up the slack that was created by missing Usopp and I can't wait what she can came up with when Franky is added to the mix :) 4) Jinbei is awesome and much needed voice of reason and experience. But there, with Ruffy? It's not needed as much. Also Ruffy is not as impulsive to just invite him. I can still see it happening and I don't have anything against it. But I can also easily see them just being allies and friends. But maybe he could even join the crew officially but remain behind to protect Fishman island which could be under Luffy official protection at that point? Or just join them for a specific parts / sometimes / etc? :) Honestly anything can work and I will be happy as long as they're at least friendly. Horse for the Force: 1) I don't think any of these can hide and protect the 'plan' against all the Jedi. Maybe hide and protect themselves but even that can be doubtful. I can see Sidious actually failing to get away. I guess some clone would be a cheap way out, even if it's doable. But then I would be afraid it could easily turn into a galactic game of smack a mole with Sidious popping up again and again after being killed :-D Maybe if you play on the paranoia of the Sith? And him having only one backup clone that would wake up in an event of his death? As to not be actually betrayed by his clones, as he knows they would do otherwise? :-D Or adding Darth Plagueis back into a mix after his demise? As sort of spirit that got free? 2) The Confederacy could fracture but the strongest factions I can see actually continue the war, because giving up would cost them too much and they can't really get away but passing the blame. And they could apply pressure to majority of these wishing to leave, as to not weaken their side further. Still the Republic could make use of it and I can see some faction trying to strike a deal with Republic (inside source in exchange for getting away with the 'rebellion') Making Waves: 1) I rarely care for children and they can even bother me if included too soon in the main story. Still at the end or even better, the epilogue? Why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Wedding on the other hand? Why not once they're sure that they wish to spend the rest of their lives together ;) 2) I didn't care much for these two. Their biggest addition to the story in my opinion, is the fact they can serve as a secondary source of Dragon Slaying magic to others :-D 3) The Eclipse project can work without tournament and was quite interesting. The question is what would power it without the games and without being totally obvious?

Hiryo

For the Ranma/DC I was all for that one, although I’m curious about the RanmaXKasumi fanfics too! Then again there is the RanmaXShampoo one. Maybe really do it like that with Semblance with forced updates there. Stallion of the Line: Stallion 1.) That match-up itself makes it very interesting. Ranma can predict, his style works against such great and Kizaru would have to ‘calculate’ if his light power can hit in direct line or not. Granted it’s powerful, but then again if Ranma is aware about being hit, it’s not that troublesome. Now the question is how much potential of HUGE damage that hits so much at once he gets out. Kizaru having the light power, but this one still can be blocked/fought against as seen in several fights and thus is not as fast as light as stated but more like frightens others? Ranma’s style and intelligence and adaptability will play a huge role in there. Granted, similar like Ryoga, Kizaru will later on learn/adapt to Ranma to a degree the more he fights against Ranma, which in return will make him more dangerous when he does fight against Ranma’s allies. Ranma’s training in the overall Haki and durability puts him in that regard above Kizaru. What Ranma really needs though is to get more used to the observational Haki, to the degree of noticing ‘electrons being disturbed by the light and such for the more advanced attacks that he is unaware of! Stallion 2.) So the power-creeping SSJ-style is indeed the problem. However, as far as I read the ‘wikia entry’ it’s mostly just Whitebeard being that powerful, maybe some of the ‘subordinate crews’ of his pirate fleet where stronger, but most where just ‘sheep’ and enjoying the benefit of a ‘strong group.’ Stallion 3.) Laki develops wonderfully, needs a bit more shine maybe on chapter dealing with some of her stuff? Especially interaction with the surroundings and leaving a certain impact of the character to bring out more of her uniqueness as a character. Stallion 4.) First of all I’ve read and watched quite a bit and think that what is said here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUC9L6Mrc7k Is all said quite nicely! Overall, yes, Jinbei should join the crew still. However, only let him join in the late game of your story, since him joining as a former Warlord and the connection of him to the Fishmen is too huge a deal for the ‘Throne game!’ Along with his being a counter-force and being able to force Ranma to do something and having as well a great dream of Humans and Fishmen living together. Let him have some more trouble with leaving his old crew along maybe getting sidetracked due Ranma’s machinations and coming thus much later down the line than before!!! I really can see that Jinbai even OP can have a agreement of just defending himself or if it concerns Fishmen and Humans being together, since Ranma and Luffy definitely bond differently with the chars. Also when Ranma and crew have to fight against fleets there is quite a different kind of force needed. That’s what I see where this is going and why Jinbei joined originally Luffy story wise. A Horse for the Force: Horse 1.) There is a problem with that thought that the Sith handle plan together, instead of them alone having enough smarts to Plalpy’s degree is definitely not enough for the Grand Plan! Hmm maybe get Snoke ruling the Sith instead of Palpy? Especially, since Palpy was the creator of Snoke in the first place? Them executing the Order 66 is OK but will not stay hidden as they should be. Even more so with Palpy gone, so is the potential of being again hampering the foresight and showing other things instead. Horse 2.) If Sidious escapes, that would put everything Sidious did in question for all and a lot of chaos. Some will do everything contra what Sidious applied for, some will band together. Some will isolate themselves from everything. The Jedi will bring some balance and peace into it again but the question is how long they need for mending bridges again after they broke? There will be at least 3 large sections of the CIS in the beginning. Pro/Nay/Neutral. Making Waves: Waves 1.) The intention of kids and maybe someone/all being pregnant would be my guess. As for wedding that could be one big wedding with Ranma wedded to all at once, and that they get a house together and that alone is significant. At the very least it’s a kind of wedding (formalization of their relationship) that all agree on. Now the question is if the royals get a wind of it and want to buttering up the girls to get on their good side. xD Waves 2.) If you portray them correctly, yes. I think their story and how they where changed due them being in the Sabertooth guild portrays and underlines how Sabertooth was lead. Waves 3.) The problem is that you need the gathering of the spirits of ol’ Dragons that are within Natsu, etc since so many died and thus the power is quite the difference. Now if Erza’s mom joins them then I say hell no, keep them as fun gimmicks to stay with their ‘hosts.’ Other Questions: Other 1.) Story updating: Why not go with the longer a story isn’t being updated the higher they rank until win by default, so there is no never updating by blah? Other 2.) Damn, want to question you about ALL the Ranma story ideas you put out and even reviving Lion of Light. I really hope we get to see them all finished. When… that is the question. Other 3.) Hmm of the newer ideas where RanmaXShampoo, RanmaXKasumi, RanmaXDC These would be my favorites. I believe the RanmaXKasumi will be on the shorter side if you do not much world building and should be easier to write out. But man teasing us like that with releasing new stories/chapters, when you halt some Ranma stories.

I enjoyed the homage fic. And the aunts touch

Stallion of the Line: 1. I think it could be a good pairing as lightning does move as fast as light. The only reason that Enel would lose to Kizaru in the original match up as he was a big fish in a little pond and if he were to have made to the Grand Line he would have easily been decimated by any of the major powers of the world long before he would be able to do anything. 2. I think it was as you said that as the series progressed and the character became stronger then they had to make Big Mom and Kaidou stronger to match. But I also think that it was more that the Whitebeard Pirates were rusty, I mean by that point they had established themselves as one of the powers and no one would want to deal with them. Just seeing their flag would be enough to deter someone from starting a fight. So they probably haven't seen any true combat in a long time or at least something that would require them to be pushed. But after the fight at Mainford and everything is shaken up Kaidou and Big Mom had at least two years to get their crews back into combat shape. 3. I have been enjoying Laki, I think she’s a great addition to the crew more so than Ussop could have been. Her personality and desire to prove herself fights better with the crew than Ussop would have. I do want to see how far she will grow as a character. 4. I do like the idea of Jinbei joining the crew as I think it adds a dynamic that could work well or at least the idea of having a fishman join the crew appeals to me. I like the idea for Jinbei as he would be able to help Nami with the anger she probably stills has for Fishman as a whole. I always thought Jinbei had inherited the will of Tiger and Otohime in wanting Fishman and Humans to live together in harmony. But if you are worried about him marginalizing the secondary characters you could always give him a debilitating wound like the loss of a hand. Horse for the Force: 1. I think that they could continue to act as protagonists for the series. There is enough that they have probably planned for that they can do to keep the war going. Whether that is threats, bribery, or mind control. Do I think that they will be able to stand up to Ranma and company, no. But there will always be more droids that constantly improve that can slow them down long enough to escape. Plus they are actually more combat orientated than Sidious which would allow them to fight and escape. 2. I do agree in that the CIS would splinnter and fracture for a bit, but Sidious controls so many resources that they could probably if not already put in counter measures to set up puppet governments that obey their will. Some of the governments will break off but I do not think they would go back to the Republic or the Peace groups, they would try to stay independent and muddy things further in doing so. Making Waves: 1. Personally I would love to see kids, it is one of the things I am actually excited about in ATP and what I felt was missing in ‘Wild Wolf’. I would say that if fitting children in does not work for the story, there is always the option of writing up an epilogue which could feature them. I am not saying that they have to be 10 years old and learn magic from their Mom or Dad just that they are there. In terms of formalizing their relationship I think that would depend on the partner and how things are viewed. Ranma does not strike me as someone that has trust in vows thanks to his Dad and everything associated with him. Words mean nothing to him, it is the actions that truly matter. So I would say that everyone needs to do something to prove that they are committed, not just with words.

xRoymustang

First of all, since it won the small story poll, Stallion of the Line: 1. I think Kizaru/Raffy rivalry is the only one that would work, cause he can speed blitz everyone else but maybe blackbeards black hole bs and anti devil fruit powers. 2. Everyone seems alot weaker because the author didnt even create armor haki yet. Its just like how super saiyan form was just the author forgetting to color a panel and when he saw it he was like this is it! I can save so much ink! 3. I think Laki is awesome so far. She is filling the roll god usopp never did but much better. 4. Should Jinbei still join the crew, Sure but just like cannon he cant join until he honors its deal with big mom and by then most of the crew would be around his strength anyway, unless you have a better helmsmen lined up? Second, Horse for the Force: 1. Well Vosa should still be a deepcover Jedi but Bulq maybe alright as a villain. As for Ventress I don't think she has the will or drive to even try. As for Sidious I could see him going dark if things look to bad and coming back later on because he would never risk his own life unless he was 100% sure via future sight or some shit. Hell if your using pre new canon Sidious he may even soul transfer himself to a clone body once age and darkside corruption have ruined his current body. 2. The cival war would not stop there's to much hatred between the core and outter rim. So at least a few years of war before a treaty came up even without the influence of force users. And last, Making Waves: 1. Children and weddings. Sure why not it could add some new plot lines and slice of life stuff. 2. The Natsu fan boys could come around just to be slapped down by papa Ranma but that's about it. Oh and sting has his future truck version to play with if you didn't dumb that arc. 3. I kinda forgot the whys and how's it even happened like it was a evil knight or something with the king being fool. But if you want to fight dragons that are not op strong like the dragon gods from fairy tail part 2 then meh there you go.

vimesenthusiast

hmm...I could bring back that story, though no, I won't be rewriting it, just continuing it. that and Herd in Space. It's a thought after one of my SW fics are done, or maybe have a month where I put those up as a patron poll after one of the two large HP fics are done. Not in the cards at present - I want to cut down on the fics pulling me every which way, not add more.

vimesenthusiast

I think you're both forgetting the concept of level creep. But Godusoland brings in an excellent point. - the idea that he couldn't win cleanly, and have enough troops left over to fight off another world power afterward. Remember that the Old guys who lead the WG were all about balance. Croc's defeat threw that balance off. It makes it somewhat surprising that they okayed the idea of using Ace to bring in Whitebeard in canon - but then, perhaps they felt his age was getting to him and wanted to control how he fell?

vimesenthusiast

Eh, I don't actually like enough Naruto characters - to say nothing of the world - to really want to go into that world. Not to say I couldn't be convinced, but I would want to make it like Stallion - a really fun, wrecking canon sort of romp. As for making it happen after Stallion - I wrote up an omake about that idea where Urd screwed with Ranma even more than the curse by sticking him in Naruto's head to join the demon fox. A FEMALE Naruto(Naruko). Thought it was funny.

Horse 1: Yeah. I knew they couldn’t create the Empire, that was never in the cards. If any empire is created in this fic, it will have someone else at the helm (no, not Ranma, he would go apeshit at the very idea LOL), but even that is doubtful. I was just interested if everyone thought the rest of the Sith could keep the war going. Or even would… I haven’t read through all these yet, but I will be interested to see if anyone thinks up the idea of the Sith, or one of them anyway, just hiding away, giving this up as a bad job and retreating entirely into the deep dark. Not to say that would succeed, but it is a thought. Horse 2: You are forgetting Kuat. After that, the die has been truly cast. And also recall that Bulq is the supreme leader of the CIS. The other leaders don’t have much power over the war effort. If the admirals follow Bulq – and many would at this point if only to get out of war crimes trials/executions – the political leaders might face a coup. Mind you, that would seriously disrupt the war effort, so… And yeah, I am thinking of his being outed in a major way. Note I said how he might just lose it entirely when Ranma is in his face. As to your edit: I… could see the 501st joining Ranma and company in a few chapters time. Although I doubt it would be for very long if Sidious doesn’t escape his comeuppance. As you said, Ranma can be a leader. I’ve showed that most of his attitude towards leadership is based off his past life and learning under Genma, who, lets face it, wanted Ranma dependent on him for a lot of his higher function intelligence type needs. I’ve shown what can happen if Ranma is taught to be a leader in Wild Wolf and Chaotic space, if in very different ways. Here, Ranma got away from Genma sure, but he hasn’t been forced to learn to be a leader yet. An example, sure, much like in Chaotic Space, but not a leader. So while he would be willing to act like a field officer, it would be Shaak as the strategist.

Stallion 1: That is a point about the reaction time not being sufficent, yeah. I would like Kizaru to come in without underestimating Ranma and still get his ass kicked, but Ranma would need to have built up a level of trust with his Kenbunshoku by that point. Flying by instinct against someone who can move at the speed of light isn’t going to cut it. Stallion 2: I had forgotten Thatch was also a unit commander, true. Also Whitebeard personally was stabbed in the back when one of his allies believed a marine lie – which I think is just hilariously stupid. Horse1: Bulq is much more likely to give Greivious his head true. The question though was about simply continuing the war and the Great Plan, not winning it. The consensus seems to be yes to the war HELL NO to the Great Plan. Horse2: Hmm… If Sidious stepped into the whole shadow Sith bit, I doubt even he could spin that as being against more barbarism. Especially because even if he was able to fake his own death and get away like that, the Jedi will know of the Great Plan: that is, the eventual use of the clones against them, as well as a vast majority of his shadowy empire of contacts and tools. A lot of that is going to be gone regardless of how he gets away. Makingwaves1: Yeah, I wouldn’t introduce the kids, but getting Erza and the others pregnant might be a very sneaky way to get them to not take part in the fight against Acnologia… Makingwaves2: Assuming you’re asking seriously, they are two Dragon Slayers who are Wendy’s age at this point. I don’t know their background, but they become relevant after the time skip and beyond. Not all that relevant though. And personality-wise they just aren’t interesting enough to bring in as more than single-chapter characters.

Stallion1: True on the heat of the lightning strikes – I always laugh when I see the volts of Enel’s attacks listed off. So dumb. And yes, I’ve already begun to show Raffy using energy based shapeshifting. Oohh… I didn’t know about Kizaru not being able to see in his light form or use Observation Haki. Where did that come from? If it’s based on him just turning into light, we have evidence in canon of other logia users still being able to use Kenbunshoku when turned into their element form so I wouldn’t believe that/ I did know about his linear attacks. I too would assume his laziness has hammered his skill set. I’m just unsure how much. Stallion2: Here you are quoting stuff I haven’t seen yet – I’m waiting for the whole arc to be done before reading through it all at once LOL. Stallion4: What I might do is make Robin and Franky both step back from direct confrontations and simply have them. Nami and Laki fight the ship normally while the others fight on land. I intend ship to ship combat to continue to be flipping relevant in an age of sail and a world of countless islands LOL. I also didn’t know that was Jinbei’s dream… oh my, but I could play with this. I could play with that a LOOTTTTT. Especially considering my plans for another character(s)… Horse 1: Yeah, that’s why I asked if they could act as antagonists, not if they could keep the Great Plan going. However I deal with Sidious, the Great Plan is not going to continue any further. Taking Wayland, unless the Sith can take it back, means the end of the Great Plan one way or another. Horse 2: Yeah, it looks as if the CIS splintering is going to happen one way or another. Whether the Republic will be able to do anything about it is a question, since it too will be rocked by the revelations of Sidious’s Sithness. Although you could possibly hear Garm’s crow of ‘ I told you so’ from lightyears away without the need for a Hypercom, LOL. MW1: Hmm… but kids would be a sneaky way to force the girls not to take part in the final confrontation with Acnologia. As for weddings, yeah something needs to be done there. MW2: Meh, they were lame, but then again so were the so called second and third strongest Wizard Saints. Still, I do agree with you, they just… what purpose did they serve? Honestly Dragon Slayer magic is supposed to be a lost magic but it really lost it’s shine after a while. MW3: Yeah, that was my thoughts too. The only reason I asked was it would be interesting for Ranma and co to come back during the festival, and join in a slaughter of dragons since at that point everyone is going to be even stronger than now.

So the info on Kizaru was from one of Odas SBS posts

Stallion 2: I agree he thoguht loyalty and family feeling were more important than power. But it was also pointed out recently that Thatch, the man Blackbeard killed to gain his black hole Df - was a fleet commander, as was Ace and Blackbeard. Makes sense Whitebeard had to rely more on his allies. HOrse1: been thinking about that one Sith stuck in the jewelry and kept contained by an ancient Jedi? Might introduce him if I can. The Son and Daughter and Father thing is going to be introduced at some point, but the Son's power wanes as the Daughter grows stronger thanks to Ranma's presence. Abeloth won't appear in this fic , though maybe I will introduce her as just an insanely powerful Dark Side user in Magic, we will see.. MW2: Seilah's reaction to competition of an age with her target (she's basically waiting for Wendy to grow up) would be kind of funny, I'll admit.

vimesenthusiast

Not gonna lie, really would like to have seen some Busoshoku from whitebeard, at the very least. Still, going to say now, if you think the Enel arc or the recent Buster Call battles were something, that war is going to be something else.

vimesenthusiast

Stallion1: That is the video I watched yeah, but I wanted to see more speculation about what the two DF fruits could do directly against one another rather than just a list of their abilities. As for Haki, I don’t know. I think Ranma’s work ethic means he is actually at Kizaru’s level already. Stallion2: A lot of people to agree with the whole Haki not defined thing, and power creep is also an issue. Stallion4: didn’t know that about Jinbei. Still, the crew does need a helmsman. Just uncertain if Jinbei would agree to what is a gross underutilization of his abilities. Horse1: Sidious’ position as chancellor is still secure, but yeah, the other two Ranma’s mere presence has eroded. The fight in the shadows would effectively end, but as to Bulq being a lesser opponent… not necessarily. There are several ways I could get around that issue, even if Bulq can’t lead the CIS without Sidious propping him up from the shadows, which is a question. If the news that he has been playing both sides breaks, well, the CIS could splinter, and the Republic be completely side tracked by an internal pogrom. Remember Sidious has a LOT of people in positions of power already. MW1: True, which is why in this fic he’s argued against it so much. I intend to show him with Ahsoka and Scout, which while not normal kids are close enough, and show how he really doesn’t have the right touch to deal with them. MW2: Thinking possible comedy relief myself. Something to interrupt the Ranma and co. portions of the chapter. MW3: It didn’t make sense, it really, really didn’t Time travel forward fine, going back, no.

vimesenthusiast

MW: I could think of something similar to the handfasting in this fic - it would make sense they would have something like that in Fiore at the very least. And if you think you're not a fan of formality and spectacle, Ranma is way worse. 2- they appeared after the timeskip. Think a new, less fighty better spoken Natsu and an emo friend - like the Naturo character Sasuke almost - and two weird Exceed. Not a fan of them, their powers or place in the story. 3. See last sentence above LOL.

Beleriond

Looking forward to whatever you decide to do.

I know how oda feels - stares at both SW fics, ATP, FILFy, and nearly every other fic - But if I went this route I wouldn't do that with Jimbei. I would introduce him, the move on to dealing with big Mom

vimesenthusiast

Stallion1: Yeah, Raffy will school Kizaru the first time – lazy is going to lose out to his insane work ethic any day of the week - but I wonder if Kizaru can survive and the apply himself afterward. Horse1: LOL, I know, the Great Plan is done – even Sidious acknowledge it last chapter when he mentioned putting a plan in place to destroy the clone centers. I agree if Sidious is wounded his self-control would reassert itself, and he would try to escape. ON the other hand, he already relies on other Dark Side users for a lot. He is very much a coordinator. Horse2: Not a lot of the CIS high command have actually died yet which is a problem. Bulq is the supreme ruler of the CIS – all their officers answer to him. So any rebellion would not be supported by a large percentage of their combined military. Some calls to fall back into pre-succession lines could be seen, but I don’t see the actual political leaders getting very far. The reprisals would be huge though and might give the Republic an opening. I am amused to note though that no one has brought up the option of a Sith – Vosa or Ventress – retreating entirely or even to the Night sisters. Leaving the rest to die against the Jedi as the Sith rebuild in the dark once more. Waves1: Eh, not going to be any huge timeskip, even with the whole exploration stuff, I want to keep that kind of thing to a minimum. Waves2: Yeah not going to be main characters, was thinking more gag characters than anything else. Waves3: The current Ds users would indeed fight on an even footing with the dragons. As to what caused it. Magical back in time reaching further back in time to bring dragons to kill a single person because angst. Seriously, that’s the best summary I can build.

vimesenthusiast

Stallion1: But that’s the beauty of it, Kizaru either losing his cool due to Ranma, or Ranma losing his cool due to Kizaru’s attitude, pissed off that someone so powerful can be so laid back. Ranma has been known to lose his cool when the taunting technique is turned back against him with the right emphasis. Stallion2: True, but I would still think that the whole power creep thing is also an issue. That, and Oda not wanting Whitebeard to kill off any of the marine officers. Stupid that. Lots of people both sides are going to die in my version.

vimesenthusiast

Stallion1: I think that fic with the mirrors was a Naruto fic – another writer pointed it out for me a while back, can’t remember how but yeah, Naruto bounced Kizaru away to the land of the okamas I think? Stallion 4: you make a point about New World being tougher than Paradise in orders of magnitude. I would say that the only ones ready for it at this point are Luffy – who is at the level of most of the Shichibukai already – Zoro, who’s close to that level, and Sanji. The others are not. Which is why the two year timeskip will still be a thing in this fic. MW:2 Never was thinking of them as rivals, more comedic relief really.

vimesenthusiast

Horse1: Yeah that’s what I’m leaning towards as well, I just don’t think Bulq has the ability to really keep the war going like Sidious could knowing what both sides were up to. Good in one way, not so much in another. I could however see him just releasing Grievous and the other admirals, and the Republic facing more attacks like Kuat and worse. MW2: Why is everyone mentioning them as rivals? I just asked about them being characters LOL! MW3: Yeah, that the whole tournament (HATE THOSE KINDS OF ARCS, which seem to be a necessary plot device in all Shounen manga) and the timeskip killed my interest in the original. Autocorrect is not as big an issue as Dragon Naturally speaking - some of the changes it makes to names are especially hilarious.

vimesenthusiast

Stallion1: I could soooo see his attitude just completely pissing Ranma off though. Then him getting under Kizaru’s skin with some twit about his looks, clothing or something else. “And your attempt to grow facial hair makes you look like a child’ or something similar. I agree the need to be accurate with his power limits Kizaru – in fact I think it would be hilarious to show him accidentally overshooting and finding himself in space – ooh, could even introduce those things from the moon then LOL. In terms of reaction speed and Kenbunshoku I would say Ranma has an edge I saw that movie, but I wanted more hypotheses about how the two fruits would interact/if they even could. Stallion2: Yeah, it’s the Haki not being used thing. I blame Oda for not having an idea here. I just, well, I compared the War of the best to the fight against Big Mom’s crew and found myself underwhelmed. Power creep fooled me, but you and everyone else here have put me back on track Heh. Satllion4: OOOOoooooh I like the pirates schooling the arlong wannabes and then Jinbei staying behind to guard it as the first one to officially fly the Straw Hat flag. I like that quite a bit. Horse1: That is why I said the war, not the Great Plan. Clones – he did have a few cloning cylinders, but only at Wayland at this point and the cylinders were empty when they took the mountain. As for a spirit, I am wondering on that score, though not Plagueis. Horse2: passing the blame doesn’t always work when you’re talking about war crimes. The problem is, that perception of power is one thing, reality another. And remember the Republic isn’t going to be in any position to do much – several important senators knew about Sidious and waaaay more of the bureaucracy was in his pocket. The whole of the Republic intelligence through Isard, the Senate security forces and aide system through Pestage. MW1: they are pretty much at the whole spend the life together point now – the children though, I was thinking of using them as a sneaky way to force the girls to not fight Acnologia… MW2: LOL MW3: No. Just no. Hate the tournament, hate that whole trope really.

vimesenthusiast

Eh, I just think that finishing one comic book crossover starting another would be poetic. I do like the RxK fanfics. I could do them as a patron only present this year. For putting up with several months of large story HP domination. In fact, I’ll actually put that up as a vote after Stallion’s out, what people would like to see as my holidays present to you all. Should be interesting what people think. Stallion1: I had forgotten the idea of damage to the surrounding area. Interesting point. Stallion3: What stuff? Stallion4:I like his dream, but I think Tomon had a great idea – him and his crew joining the Straw Hats alliance, then guarding Mermaid Island via the Straw Hat flag, the first island to do so. And yes, that would occur after the whitebeard arc, and after the arcs I have ready to take the place of the two year arc – because lets face it, even with Ranma training them, a lot of the crew – all of them bar the other two power houses and possible Robin – need more training before heading into the New World. Horse1: That is why I never said the Great Plan, I said the war. I was just wondering about if Bulq could retain control of the CIS without being propped up. My decision at this point is yes, he can. Another aspect, which you hint at, is the foresight ability of the Jedi coming back. If it does, if the Veil of the Dark Side disappears entirely, then that is a very big deal. Horse2: Mending bridges is going to be an issue. There is little doubt that a lot of people on both sides will be out for blood. And you really do describe how the Republic might respond very well. The CIS – with them there will be open warfare and sedition instead of simple chaos. MW2: Big ceremony of some kind certainly. Don’t think a wedding – don’t think Ranma would bind himself in the eyes of the gods etc. But maybe magically exchanging something, or tattoos or something like that. Why would the royals care? Ranma is just about done with the whole Ranger thing as it is, and isn’t the kind to care about power or governments or whatever unless they bother him. As for kids… well, again, I was wondering if maybe, just maybe Ranma might do that deliberately, to keep the girls from fighting with him against Acnologia. Then after basically being in the doghouse and forced on diaper duty for eternity. MW2: so comedic relief is good then. Your own questions: 1. I add in my own votes – as much as eight hundred in the past. Still has rarely been enough. Hence my putting GDWHOM on hold. Semblance, there’s a mix of that and acknowledging that it really isn’t my best story, I made too many mistakes early on, then got to the point where I’m sort of too concentrated on one thing. I will say emphatically though that Sword, Bow and Horse is only going to be postponed momentarily until Making Waves is done. 2. I could, again put the idea of a Lion of Light chapter or something else as a Holiday present. Beyond that, we will see. 3. I might be putting Ranma stories on hold, but I have far more of them than the Harry fics, and I have actually finished several Ranma fics too. It evens out, really

vimesenthusiast

I will get back to the Homage fic when Semblance is finished. Aunt's touch is a different story, but we will see.

vimesenthusiast

Horse: Vosa isn’t deep cover exactly, she is known to Bulq, the extent of her training is not. She is more of a trouble shooter assassin answering straight to Sidious. Ventress has the will to become a sith – she constantly pushed for it in canon – but I doubt she has the vision. No soul transfer. No clone body at this time – those were made later, right now he had the cylinders, but not the spares in Wayland.

Hiryo

Stallion 3.) What I mean with stuff is things that show the character building. Like how she would think/react to certain situations compared to the others. Some hidden sides (little pleasures) that weren’t shown up till now that she does when no-one is around. Can be as well some woes or problems she has so far that are a bit odd? XD Waves 1.) Well the royals would like to be : A: In Ranma good graces B: Have their hand in and maybe another point to sway Ranma to their side C: Be friends with powerful people D: Being Royal itself is a PITA XD Waves 2.) Yes, absolutely! 1.) Explains very much about GDWHOM, what with FILTHY being out there. Thanks about clarifying about Sword, Bow and Horse! 2.) The Ranma present be it RxK or Lion of Light is a huge thing! I really really like!

Tomon

Stallion1) Kizaru instead pissing of Ranma? Definitely :-D But Kizaru being all that bothered with some insult about his appearance? Not really... I guess he could be actually fashion blind and get mad about if called upon but... Let's try to try a different angle to get rise out of him :) Maybe attack his competence? Or really try the whole 'slooow' thing :-D That could actually get on his nerve since it's something he isn't used to hear. Stallion2) It's not really Haki not being used (well, sort of true as well) but more not being comprehended/seen at that point: Just imagine if we could see Haki from the start and how would Garp educational fists look like. that would be both epic and quite scary when he hit Luffy in his already Rubber body :-D MW1) Ok, that can work as well. And as I said it's my subjective opinion and sometimes they can be done well. Only generally I dislike their addition or don't find it all that believable (adoption cases) MW3) I said that the Eclipse could work WITHOUT the tournament. I'm saying just the whole gateway thing. The tournament was used to power said gate -> hence they would need to come up with some other way to power it. That's all :) But again, not like I think you need to follow canon events, even if they were interesting. That's the point of fanfiction :) Of course if it's an epic moment type of scenario that it might be good to try to somewhat either include it, or make a parallel event happen ;)

TheLazyShadow

I think we see them as rivals because canon and the fact that almost all dragon slayers are some what aggressive and confrontational, though your Wendy is more than canon.

godUsoland

Sounds dope! If that is the case, then you should definitely look into including the new Haki variations found in Wano. MANGA SPOILERS. [Conqueror's Haki- Infusion] is likely the strongest form of Haki shown in the series. So far, Roger, Whitebeard, Kaidou, Luffy, Big Mom, and Yamato are the only confirmed users of it. This is the power that makes someone Pirate-King worthy. (Being able to infuse CoC Haki into their attacks similar to Armament, causing: 1. An Immense boost in Power, 2.Black Lightning to form on every attack, 3. Allow users to Block attacks/Deal Damage from/to Emperor level fighters, and 4. Hit people without even touching them. If you wanted to show Whitebeard being monstrous, you should definitely include him using this during Marineford. Also, there are 2 new forms of Armament shown in Wano (revealed in the anime) - Emission, and Internal Destruction. Look into them both, because they are interesting power multipliers. Fun Fact: You can use CoC-Infusion together with Armament Haki at the same time, to really stack the damage!

vimesenthusiast

Hmm, you're the first to mention the fact that Nami needs to move past her justifiable anger at Fishmen, not a bad point. Certainly their interaction is going to be very interesting. Horse: Sidious' resources will be determined by how he escapes, really. If he's ousted as a Sith, then a lot of people who had been working with him might have second thoughts. The CIS is already a puppet government from the top down, so no real need for more. But even puppets can strike out for freedom if they get a chance. MW - yeah, the kids will appear in the epilogue. Possibly as foils for showing how Wendy has changed and how Ranma and the others have mellowed as they have aged. As for a marriage, yeah, there's not going to be any kind of wedding in his fic, I think maybe the idea of exchanging magic tattoos or something makes more sense.

Braeden1002

For Horse, I don't think it's going to really matter if people realize Sidious is a Sith. To most people they will probably just see him as a Jedi as they wouldn't understand the differences. What is going to be more important is if they can find the evidence to show that he orchestrated the wars to begin with and how he's been manipulating both sides. That may rattle many of the planets that were sitting on the fence but it probably won't do anything for the planets that are fanatics or have been completely corrupted. Don't get me wrong what she went through was horrible and wrong but not every Fishman can be painted in the same light. I just feel that she needs to grow beyond that anger and realize that Arlong and his crew were not the norm. Now she can still have some animosity against Jinbei as without his presence the Marines might have done something sooner. Moreover, it doesn't feel as if she has the same hate for the Marines when Nezumi was taking a cut to look the other way.
