Howdy folks!  Hope you all are doing well.  I've a few brief announcements here:

First, of course, work on FILFy is continuing.  I... should have it finished by the 10th and off to the editors.  But don't bet on that, or seeing it quickly afterward.  I might be entirely without internet access starting the 12th to the 24th, and even after, well, the reason will still be there, IE family time.

Now on to a few Patron type announcements:

First I have seen Soldier's Son, Razgriz and Flbiv and a few others needed to reup - to redo their patronage - because their debit cards were no longer being accepted. If it was one person, that would not be anything worth mentioning. But since it was several people, I asked about it, and worse than the problem with the debit cards was that even after they did change their method of payment or reup they still couldn't access my content.  So if anyone has had a problem like this in the past and knows a solution, please share it here or PM me.

Second, Patreon has made some changes to what they notify me of (and now insist on calling my Patrons my Audience LOL), which now includes a notification that tells me if someone posts something to the member posts I will now see it.  If you all wish to use that method to have conversations with me and your fellows, or post fanart or something, it will be much easier to use now.

And finally, another plea for help: if you have any idea of how to add color to my stories over on Archive of Our Own, preeeeeetyyy please tell me.  Putting up Bhaalson Remodel over there without that just seems silly.

*sigh* Okay, so I TECHNICALLY know how to do the color thing with AO3. I didn't try to explain it before because I've never actually USED it, so I couldn't be sure I got it right. But, since literally no one else seems to be willing to share: Steps: 1) AO3 technically allows the use of CSS. However, it's NOT ON BY DEFAULT. When you create a new story (or edit an existing one), there is an option that most people scratch their head over and ignore. Called 'Select a Work Skin.' You need to either create or choose one of these 'skins.' Doing so will enable any CSS usage defined in that skin. The Basic Formatting skin listed as an option has a decent number of colors you can use. 2) After that you can use a normal CSS/HTML Span command to change text color for a section of text. I'm not going to go into detail on how. Because, quite frankly, you'll get a better explanation by simply clicking the question mark next to the 'Select a Work Skin' option on Archive of Our Own. The basic code block you need is right there in the popup tooltip when you click on it. And there are two links within that tooltip to more advanced explanations. Anyway, like I said, I've never actually USED it. Hence why I didn't speak up before, since I might be missing something. But that should get you started...

1) I was one of the people whos debt didn't work but Patreon wouldn't let me fix it so i created a new account

vimesenthusiast

That is what several people had to do. But if you can see my content, that's a good sign😊

I think I tried the HTML span before, and it didn't work... Still, I will go back and look at it again. Thanks. I was using color coding in a few chapters there, but then stopped since it didn't copy over into Patreon.

Novus

It doesn't work if you don't apply the 'skin' to the story first. Which is what screws most people trying to use it up, as I understand it. The only reason I know about it (since I don't actually use it) is seeing a LOT of posts in places with people confused why the CSS/HTML code wasn't working...

Primordial Vortex

Apparently there's been SOME success with deleting your pledge entirely and just trying it again

vimesenthusiast

good to know. I don't understand why Patreon is being troublesome.

Razgriz

Finally was able to get back in, I did it by deleting the original pledge and trying it like a new patron. Also, I did it with pay pal, It didn't work directly with the credit card.

So I am just going to copy this from what Patreon sent me. It might help: "Hi there, An issue with a payment partner is causing a slightly higher-than-normal number of your patron payments to be declined by their banks. We've traced the increased declines back to payments system upgrades required by one of our processing partners. Patrons might see some payments declined while changes take effect. If a patron reaches out to you about a decline, you can advise them to follow these steps: Contact their card issuer to confirm the charge is valid and retry that card If the retry does not work, try a different payment method. Patrons can edit their payments in their Settings, under Billing History."
