New Jack City is about NYPD trying to bring down a drug dealer & his crew. This movie launched a lot of careers such as Wesley Snipes, Ice-T, Chris Rock & Allen Payne. Fun Fact: Martin Lawrence was supposed to play Pookie but didn’t due to the death of his mentor comedian/actor Robin Harris who played in House Party as Kid’s father. New Jack City, Boyz N The Hood, Juice & Menace II Society is the Mount Rushmore of hood classics.

Brad B

Martin Lawrence was originally up for the role of Pookie. But around the time before they began filming, Martin's mentor, Robin Harris (Pops from House Party) passed away, and Martin was still grieving his death.

MJWithoutSpiderman

lol you not getting shit but blocked lmaoo thanks for the free 20 now 😂🤡

MJWithoutSpiderman

Can’t believe you had the nerve to go down my comments with this when you literally see I’m doing people’s request

MJWithoutSpiderman

AND creating this tier was NOT your idea. I got A LOT of fucking movies to react to so take yo salty ass somewhere else cry baby. and NO you aint getting yo mf money back rude ass...

Alex Hernandez

I’m dead 😂 foo if you don’t like it oh well

SoularBeing

Think about logically. NOBODY else is doing $20 movie reactions(average is $100). You have to be patient. Its only a matter of time before the price increases, because why wouldn't it? Her genuine reaction is a good product. Why stress herself out doing a bunch of reactions for cheap. She could just increase the price, get more money money for less work and at the same time, weed out all the sensitive thugs (they all need hugs). Just enjoy the cheap price while you can.

Rozay

One of the greatest hood movies ever made. I haven’t watched yet but I know you are going to love this movie

Jaybeast5x

Somebody probably already said this but that group in beginning singing is an actual R&B group called Troop their song “Spread My Wings” is my ish

Jaybeast5x

nah martin couldn’t be as ugly as chris was the scenes where he was trying to overcome temptation 😭😭😂

Geovanny Motion

Bro be patient, you think your request is the only one? She must have tens of requests piled up that were requested before you. You too entitled to come here being all demanding like that, glad you got blocked.

James70

To be honest what happened to the Carter had happened in real life in multiple former project buildings most famously cabrini greens and multiple others

Christopher Hayes

This movie inspired many rapper's themes including the name Cash Money Records and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter albums.

Running red

Nope. It was based on Detroit

Marlon Bellamy

People said that Martin killed the audition & Chris Rock bombed it.

James70

I’m not saying it’s based in Chicago I’m referring to there are multiple projects throughout the states that were just like the Carter

To add to this @MJ you should YouTube the Martin version of the scene when Nino stabs Kareem with his cane and has the Rotti. It’s hilarious

Mr. B

Hey MJ, “Is this a Black thing?” Was a well appreciated recognition of Black culture at the time. A very popular shirt during my college years at an HBCU was “It’s a Black thing! You wouldn’t understand!” Out of context it might sound weird but we understood it, appreciated it, and loved it!

Todd Williamson

I don't know if you noticed, but the cop opposite Ice T, is Nelson Jude, that played the criminal in the Breakfast Club

AhmadInsane Martin

It’s crack they can smoke it and inject it into their bloodstream to gain a high potent immune response 50x greater than any other drug

AhmadInsane Martin

a new, younger generation of ruthless drug dealers (or "new jacks") taking control of the city's drug trade, characterized by extreme violence and capitalist-driven ambition Also the hip hop industry imbedded this also into the style and music wise as well which then changed the game how they also cultivated

AhmadInsane Martin

I’m surprised no one notice Keith Sweat singing lol
