This is such a real depiction of depression. Gangle was masking her emotions the whole episode but the ending tackles an often overlooked suicide red flag. When someone who is often sad or quiet suddenly is happy it can be a red flag. Any sudden change in behavior can be a red flag. Often people feel a sense of relief after deciding to do the deed and that can manifest in a "positive" mood change. So her seeming genuinely happier before jumping in front of the bus is very dark and very real.
