This is another great movie taking place in Japan. The character Mariko Yashida's first appearance is Uncanny X-Men #118, published in 1979. She is introduced as Wolverine's love interest during the X-Men's trip to Japan. Yukio made her first appearance in Wolverine #1 (1982) and she's actually not a mutant in the comics. She is depicted as a rebellious ninja and ally to Wolverine. She is also a highly trained ninja, expert in martial arts and swordsmanship. Ichirou Yashida who wears the silver armor is the Silver Samurai and it was quite shocking that he's actually a villain. The original Silver Samurai in the comics is actually Kenuichio Harada who made his first appearance in Daredevil #111, published in 1974. He is a mutant and the illegitimate son of crimelord Shingen Harada. In the comics, Shingen Harada is also named Shingen Yashida. Kenuichio Harada is also a mercenary and leader of Clan Yashida and he has the power to generate a tachyon energy field. He can also charge the sword with tachyon energy that can almost cut through anything. The second Silver Samurai in the comics is Shingen Harada II (Kenuichio Harada's son) in Wolverine (Volume 4) #300, published in 2012. In this movie, Shingen Yashida is the son of Ichirou Yashida. The character Viper in the comics is actually not a mutant. She's one of the villains from Captain America comics called Madame Hydra and this movie changed her origin. Harada who is the archer is played by Will Yun Lee, he's the same actor who played as the villain named Kirigi from Elektra (2005) movie. Thank you so much for reviewing this movie and very excited for X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) reaction next hopefully Rogue Cut version.
