Ready for X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

Marvel Fan

I'm so glad that you watched the Rogue Cut version and I totally agreed that this is a really good movie and it is absolutely phenomenal. At the end of this movie, the timeline of the X-Men universe is effectively rewritten. Wolverine's consciousness is sent back from 2023 to 1973 in order to stop Mystique from assassinating Bolivar Trask. When he succeeds, the catastrophic Sentinel future is erased. From X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, Wade Wilson (Deadpool) exists in the original timeline. That movie is set mainly in 1979, and for that version, Wade was turned into Weapon XI and his mouth is sewn closed and he's given multiple mutant powers. That version of the character belongs to the original X-Men timeline. Then in X-Men: Days of Future Past, Wolverine goes back to 1973 and changes history. When he succeeds, the future is rewritten so the timeline from 1973 onward becomes different. After the reset, the events of X-Men Origins: Wolverine are effectively erased or altered. That includes what happened to Wade Wilson and the Weapon XI version no longer has to exist in the new timeline which means the two movies Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018) takes place in the altered timeline after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Colossus (metal guy) in the first Deadpool movie is portrayed very differently compared to his earlier appearances in X-Men 2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. One strange thing is that in X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, the 1979 version of Charles Xavier was standing before and using his telepathy normally. But in X-Men: Days of Future Past, however, the 1973 version of Charles is walking but he cannot use his telepathic powers because of the serum created by Hank McCoy. The characters at the beginning of this movie are other X-Men survivors: Blink (girl with purple hair can create portals), Warpath (has eagle-like vision and acute hearing that allow him to track targets and detect enemies such as Sentinels), Bishop (can absorb energy and redirect energy), and Sunspot (absorb and store solar energy). Great to see Kitty Pryde, Iceman, Colossus, Storm, Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Beast, Wolverine, and Rogue, and I'm so glad that the characters are alive including Jean Grey and Cyclops after the history has been changed. The mutants held by the U.S. military are Havok (Alex Summers) from X-Men: First Class, Ink (has tattoo on his face), Toad, and Daniels (has spiky hair). The character named Peter Maximoff who goes super speed is also called Quicksilver. Thank you so much for watching and reviewing this movie and I'll look forward to seeing X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) reaction next.
