It was so sad seeing Logan die at the end and I cannot believe Charles also got killed. It's truly sad and heartbreaking. 😢 According to Simon Kinberg (screenwriter and producer of X-Men: Apocalypse), the post-credits scene of Apocalypse is connected to the events of Logan. The major revelation in Logan movie was that Alkali-Transigen used Wolverine's DNA to create the mutant named Laura, also known as X-23. Laura was created from the blood sample collected by Essex Corp. from the post-credits scene of X-Men: Apocalypse. Essex Corp. is a mysterious organization that collects genetic material from mutants for sinister purposes. The corporation is a reference to a character named Nathaniel Essex, the supervillain known as Mr. Sinister. He was rumored to be the main villain in Logan movie, but director James Mangold confirmed that Mr. Sinister would not appear in the film. In the comics, Mr. Sinister is instantly recognizable by his pale skin, blazing red eyes, sharp teeth, and his distinctive black-and-blue costume with a high collar, cape, and a red diamond-shaped symbol on his forehead. He made his first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #221 comic published in 1987.
