The character James Rhodes was originally played by Terrence Howard in the first Iron Man movie, but starting with Iron Man 2, the role was taken over by Don Cheadle. Rhodes' Mark II suit was upgraded with many weapons. In both the comics and the MCU, James Rhodes becomes the superhero called War Machine while wearing the weaponized Iron Man armor. Natasha Romanoff played by Scarlett Johansson actually doesn't have any superpowers in the MCU. Ivan Vanko is a supervillain known as Whiplash because he fights using electrified energy whips powered by arc reactor technology. He is the son of Anton Vanko, a former colleague of Howard Stark who helped develop the original arc reactor. However, when Vanko sold the designs onto the black market, Stark had him deported. In the comics, Anton Vanko as Whiplash made his first appearance in Iron Man vs. Whiplash #1, published in 2009 and he is the comic book counterpart to the MCU character Ivan Vanko.
