Catharsis is a literary term describing the release or relief of strong repressed emotions. Winnifer can't be the sad woman the entire comic and it's important to see that there is growth internally when she chooses being alive and cringe over dying in yearning.

On that subject, this theme has probably ran it's course but over the course of PCR has been the subject of Death and Rebirth.

Throughout the comic Winnifer is overcome with desperate feelings of wanting to run away from her past and hoping in a way that it would stop existing. She has these dismissive opinions of herself hoping that they can just go away but realises she needs to embrace what makes her happy despite what others think.
