[COMMISSION] Fusion Clashes: Gundam Battle Rave (Fusion.01) (Patreon)

The second commission I've been tasked with is a comic that was originally serialized in Shueisha's V Jump magazine back in 2008! The series served as the comic companion to the Fusion Clashes: Gundam Battle Rave card game, which was rolling out under the Carddass brand during the same period.

A BIT ABOUT THE GAME

Though it draws from Gundam series, its world and setting are something else entirely. Characters and mobile suits from other entries in the franchise make only a limited appearance; a select few Gundams are featured on cards designated as Core MS. Notably, MS here doesn't stand for "Mobile Suit" but rather "Machine Soul." Cards outside the Core MS category are referred to as Battle Rave Cards, each designed with a double A-side layout: one face showcases a Fusion MS, a Gundam that has merged with a variety of entities, while the reverse illustrates the Wisdom, the very entity involved in that fusion. The Gundam artwork, meanwhile, is rendered in a somewhat stylized fashion, though not nearly as compact as a two-head-tall super-deformed design; its proportions settle into a middle ground between realistic Gundam and SD Gundam.
