Some might remember that I asked this question a long time ago, but I wanted to see if public opinion has changed or not. I've considered making a game with a female main character getting corrupted and I'm considering doing that for Genie Trainer.

Now the question is:

"Are you okay playing a female MC?"

Genie Trainer premise

In Genie Trainer you play as a female genie girl who is forced to open a shop after she loses all of her powers. Through training you learn new bartering "techniques" ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) which improves your haggling and help restore your lost magical abilities.

Alternative premise

The alternative would be that you play as the former Head Counselor of Camp Mourning Wood and you train the genie girl into becoming a slutty shop attendant to help her restore her lost magical abilities.

Have you ever thought about a futa MC? I mean at least for some of the scenes. It's a genie, it can at least temporarily have a cock.

Female MCs are great because you can control the corruption more, and see way more scenes versus just being told about them when you have a male MC

I think having a female MC would be great, especially for a corruption narrative. It would allow you to actually show the insidious effects of corruption from a first-person perspective, seeing their viewpoint of the world changing, seeing their inner monologue shifting, in a way that you can't get if you're on the outside looking in. It would give you a lot of narrative creative freedom and opportunity. (Also, as a functional adult, I can still see the MC as a character and not a literal extension of myself, so there's no dissonance there.)

Would it work like the other game does, where you can pick which guy fucks you? Because if so, then I'm 100% for it! My only worry is futa, as its a HUGE turn-off for me, personally.

I'd probably keep the males mostly hidden (floating cocks, floating hands) for the shop mini game. Then I'd make all the sexual interactive characters optional. I'll also give players the option to not corrupt the girl at all, just for fun

I think so long as it's not corruption genre, and either a solo romance path or lesbian harem story, it could work great. Otome have their fans, but it's mostly a very different audience than most AVNs.

The theoretical changes as you craft your game. The Pros for FMC - Obviously easier to insert adult content quickly into the narrative, as it is easy to tweak it from a narrative perspective with no drawn out "growing" phase. Your character in a trainer in a shop setting is fairly similar to Akabar's clothing shop NPC, where her mother "gave special services" that she only realized what they truly were after the mother died and she took over the shop. More varied character NPC models and interactable characters spanning more genders in more diverse social dynamics. For example.. The Husband merchant and the quizzical wife trying new things she only heard of, each coming to the store for separate "services" that find out about the others visits and end up with them coming together with you as the intermediary that isn't specifically the typical c'coldin' flavor that many of the Male lead scenarios have. Cons - It makes it harder to create a trainer narrative unless you insert some pseudo-school or correctional setting. You are not the "master" training unless you introduce things like shop assistants, but as the character being trained generally in the setting.. so by who? Is the FMC actually the trainer of someone else, are the walks of life, unfortunate circumstances, the characters own choice to be trained? It opens a lot of narrative that can get dark, fast and unintentionally. I personally don't mind, it's a character. The story is the vehicle to what everyone comes to see and it's nice to play along, but I'm not tied to a character to play second life with.
