I love the quotes of the day and was going to suggest some reverb on them, but that led me to a different suggestion entirely. How about letting Catherine and Odessa pick and read a quote every once in a while? (And, of course, things in their world always sound a bit eerier to start with.) For instance, here are two quotes.
