Oh all right -- I admit I'm crabby this morning, but I think Ms Angelou is only half right. Case in point, I'm not exactly sure what you said or did to make me like you as much as I do. But I can certainly remember why I hated Roger Sterner in 7th grade -- he was sitting off-stage, squirting me with a squirt gun while we were supposed to be paying attention to Mr. Zinnaman (it was, after all, a Very Important Production of Pirates of Penzance). I got sent to the Principal's office and Roger was nowhere to be found. I think people generally have a lot more difficulty remembering the positive things that happen in their lives than the negatives. But I applaud Ms. Angelou's supposed intent -- reminding people to make others feel better about themselves is always a plus!
