Given Auklet doesn't even want to be alive anymore, he has no motive to kill someone for stealing his prey. At least, that's my thoughts.

maybe off topic but I really like the theory that Auklet is actual father of Trout and Hake. At least Hake is much more similar to his uncle than his own father both personality and looks-wise, and also Sturgeon is the only one of the 3 who actually looks like Thresher
