tbh this sounds like trout giving up on the daisys entirely to me, still not considering them family cats even though they live in their caves and beaches now and tansy is Literally sturgeon’s lionheart. sturg has got a tough case here

Y'know, it probably doesn't help this situation seeing the way Skua was so gentle and assuring to Trout (to her detriment) compared to Sturgeon moving past her clearly still not in her right mind to start pressing her to fix things and getting angry at her. I get the feeling that things are about to collapse into civil war. My guess is that Kelp will figure out that Egret is her son, the two of them will get to talking, and he’ll eventually spill the beans about a certain faux-murder plot… which Kelp of course tells to Hake, who then returns to the Family very briefly to warn Trout of Sturgeon’s involvement. Then all hell breaks loose!

Oh my god she's so broken, I feel so bad for her. I know she messed up, she's done horrible things, but like man, if I cannot understand why someone like her in her position wouldn't act the way she did. Fantastic writing like always, be proud of that fact.

I have a feeling that Skua is going to intervene in a way that puts even more distance between Trout and everyone save for him. Not intentionally, but through putting Trout's safety and his need to make her feel like she's in the right to take whatever measures necessary that ensure the status quo.
