I feel like Trout is almost certainly going to reverse course and exile the Daisys that she let into the Family thanks to Gull's guidance. It would actually be pretty easy for her to justify the backpedaling to her subjects, too - all she'd have to do is connect it back to Tusk and her 'crime' against The Tide as a nice, convenient way to vilify the entire group. I can see it now: "The Tide had mercy upon the Daisys and allowed them the chance to regain His favour as members of the Family, yet they responded by wilfully spitting in the face of His Laws. Through their continuing misdeeds, they have shown The Tide that His faith in their redemption was misplaced; only those belonging to the Family by birth are truly capable of doing His Will. Thus, The Tide has decreed that all Daisys are to leave the beach by next sunrise, lest they be removed by force." In just three sentences, Trout can endear herself to the conservative elements in the Family *and* remove the outgroup that she sees as a threat to her safety in one fell swoop. TLDR; Tansy, girl, you're in danger!

My heart hurts. Sturgeon is doing her best by being honest, upfront, and not falling back on schemes. But Kelp has some very good points, and she's definitely not proud about what her daughter has recently done/is currently doing. I have the nagging feeling that it's going to be a long time before Trout does something to make Kelp proud of her again-- if ever. :(
