The Potential of Eras 2.0 On The Horizon.... (Patreon)

(this is a correspondence from someone who is sick by the way - not covid thank god but I'm certainly not feeling well LMFAO!! I used to get sick allll the time when I worked in the service industry which is well...that makes sense, but now that I'm not even working in that industry anymore I STILL get the general populations' illnesses because my husband who's a chef brings it home 😭 it ain't right...worst of all is both of us are sick so I don't even get lots of attention for being sick because he's sick too....there's no one to baby me....RIP) 

As you all well know, the six Singapore shows were the final Eras Tour shows before a nearly two month break - she doesn't have another eras show until PARIS in May (how perfect is it to do Paris in May by the way?!!? There's something too romantic about it...). In that time, you also well know that Taylor will be releasing Tortured Poets Department, about two or so weeks before the first shows in Paris. I don't even know if I should call it the third leg of the tour or what because there are so many shows and so many different "legs" of this tour now, but in my mind, I'm personally thinking of it like a whole new era OF the eras tour. 

It's unclear yet what exactly will change in the Eras Tour after TPD...or if anything will. Part of me believes that because she's got the ORIGINAL version of the Eras Tour going up on streaming worldwide for everyone to enjoy, she is now free to change it, or at least, slightly tweak it, without disappointing fans who didn't get to see the OG eras tour too much. Plus if she changed it in the right ways, I doubt those fans would even care so much! Most of the diehards have been the OG Eras Tour multiple times in theaters, or on demand, or just on livestreams. 

But I thought it would be fun to speculate and play around with potential editing to the tour - the sky's the limit style!!! I have a couple of ideas, and we'll start with my ultimate dream idea first...

1.) Editing the setlist to include an entirely new TPD set with new costumes, staging, and graphics. GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The likelihood of this happening we do have to confess is slim...but let a girl dream for a second...here's my vision : all white staging, with black accents, like a black microphone, maybe a black guitar, black piano, etc. I personally love a lot of the gowns that Alef Vernon on twitter and insta has designed in his drawings for TPD, kinddddofffff similar to her grammy's white gown but just...you know...BETTER!! I love the idea of her in not quite a Speak Now over the top princess gown, but also not just a peasant-style simple gown like Folklore. Somewhere in the middle, costumey and glittery but very understated, and possibly barefoot as well. It gives elegance and class but also a personal, diaristic element to the set to have her with bare feet. PERIOD!! As for where I would stick it in the setlist as it is now...that's a fantastic question. I would wedge that shit right after Lover because it would be funny to do it that way and also apropos! BUT I could also see her just tacking it on BEFORE Midnights to just really gag people in Paris who won't see it coming. Midnights def has to close just for Karma honestly, unless there is an INSANELY good choice for a closing track on TPD, and well...you never know...I definitely see it being kind of "ocean" themed but not like 1989 ocean or "beachy" - more of a beach in winter type of a vibe (snow on the beach anyone....?) In terms of graphics, the graphics used for Clean on the 1989 world tour would utterly SERVE as TPD style graphics I think. For staging...minimal! I don't see the dancers being a HUGE part of this set, and I see her using instruments during this set. 

As for what I would cut to make this possible in the setlist....I would cut The Archer, I would cut Cardigan, I would cut Mastermind, and if I really had my way I'd make 22, WANEGBT and IKYWT one big mashup to shorten that part of the set. Red has a RIDICULOUSLY long set thanks to ATW10 so it could def due with a bit of culling back to make space for another era. That would free up space for AT LEAST 3 full TPD songs, if not 4. Hang on maybe this IS possible....

2.) More likely scenario - making ONE surprise song every night a TPD song!! I would be okay with this, because then the Eras Tour stays the same with all my fav moments and we still all get to experience TPD songs live!!! It would probably make her life easier too tbh lmfaooo. Can you imagine a white surprise song dress...GORGINA!!!!!!!!!!!! 

3.) An okay scenario - she doesn't include it at all aside from a few odd surprise songs. I would be disappointed but, hey, it's still the Eras Tour and we have to cheer!!! 

4.) A not okay scenario - she does edit the set to make room for a new TPD set but cuts the wrong stuff.....don't do me like that.......it's hard for me to even imagine her doing this because I feel like nearly every single song has its moment on the set and has stans who ride for it but she's a wildcard....I know SOMETHING has to be changing and she has to include it in some way because she just won't be able to help herself, but I just don't know WHAT....

5.) I was going to come up with worst case scenario but my mind is blank....any scenario you can come up with is still PRETTY GOOD lmfao, it's hard to really complain about a show as huge and special as the ERAS TOUR even if we don't wind up getting just what we want. But I do desperately need her in one of Alef's gowns NEOW...................

Those are MY ideas for potential changes to the Ears Tour.....do you guys have any of your own ideas?!?!?!?
