Kpop id say is the worst for getting fans to buy many copies of the same album. I myself was part of it for years, and now I’m older i just have tons of the same album all because I wanted a different photo card of the members in the group. Collecting photo cards was so much fun but the way they preyed on collectors was insane to me, they’d release 3 different types of albums,meaning there were wayyy more photo cards to collect than if they just released one album type. Especially when there were 6 plus members in a group.it’s truly insane and in comparison to Taylor swift’s album problem it is way worse I’d say.

when midnights was announced i immediately ordered the vinyl. then the variants came out and i emailed the store to cancel my original order and purchased the variant. i did it AGAIN for the signed vinyl. at the end of the day by the second vinyl people shouldve expected this (bc they always do this???) and im sorry but if you paid for shipping FOUR TIMES thats seriously on you…..thats how i feel 😭✋🏼

I was always so confused about the instant need to buy vinyls because I always hear how they never come in time. About the vinyl distribution I think your point makes more sense but I initially thought the delay to record stores had to do with leaks. The specific attack about variants is so shocking to me because like you said...everyone is doing it. Olivia is coming out with another version with all the 4 variant songs (that were all on different albums) plus a new song and i've seen no anger towards her about that-but I guess like you said she's the biggest target.
