My Speak Now Taylor's Version listening plan! (Patreon)
Content
Back in the day I used to be completely chaotic and rearrange the tracklist of new records for my first listen through, based on some weird predictive bullshit. I'd put a song I was dying to hear up first, followed by a song I thought would flop, then another one I thought would be a supermodel, another flop, so on and so forth. I had tomatoes constantly thrown at me for this nonsense. People used to always say I was ruining the first listening experience of her records by doing this, like she had some divine plan for the exact ordering of the songs. To an extent this may have been true for certain records....the last album I did this with was LOVER though and that has a FAMOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ridiculous and planless tracklist. Like she really just threw darts at a fucking wall.
I have not done it with like a full fledged release since Lover though, because Folklore and Evermore being surprise drops kind of shot that horse in the face. I have however done it with the re-releases!!!!!!!!!!!!! For Fearless TV I made a massive, massive mistake, and spent the hour or so leading up to the release listening to the entirety of Fearless OG, and then listened to the ENTIRE re-release tracklist in order, ending with the vaults. This was a very bad move. LMFAO. I do not recommend doing that.
For Red TV, though, I did a similar thing to what I used to do and chose a specific order to listen to them in. I'm going to do the same thing with Speak Now TV, and I thought I'd share my plan with everybody!!!
1.) First thing is first - Dear John TV. I have to know. One simply must know. This to me is the quintessential song of Speak Now, the most important track on the entire record, and she must know the hype surrounding this song and I also believe that she may have some dark and conflicting feelings about the song, but I do think she is very proud of it. I think it is going to absolutely fucking serve and I cannot wait to hear it.
2.) Better Than Revenge TV. LMFAO DUH......I MEAN REALLY...I'm completely convinced at this point she is just simply putting out BTR without any gimmicks, without changing the lyrics, etc etc. Like it literally is going to just be Better Than Revenge as god intended it to be. But there is always that small chance that she's going to go rogue, and I can't wait to find out. Even if she doesn't go rogue, I just think it's going to go fucking insane.
3.) Sparks Fly TV. THE SERVE OF THE CENTURY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Either this song serves or I kill myself in front of her to alter the trajectory of her life forever and I'm not kidding
4.) Haunted TV. I don't know why but there is an aura surrounding this song that is begging me to investigate it for myself....
5.) Castles Crumbling. I could just listen to the vaults in order but I simply have to press fucking play on Castles Crumbling first sorry to the other girlies but this track is SIMPLY different. If I can speak my truth, although I love Hayley Williams and Paramore and etc etc, I do almost wish this had no feature. This song has been lore to me for over thirteen years at this point. It's literally my white whale and I'm finally capturing it and dragging it onto my fishing boat...and randomly Hayley Williams is also in the net? But watch her only add greatness to the track.
6.) Electric Touch feat FOB. Lots of discourse over this song. Questions have come up such as - will it be good? Can it possibly be good? Is this the flop of the SNTV vault tracks? Well we will just have to find out for ourselves now won't we girlies...
7.) When Emma Falls In Love. My hopes for this song are in the utter basement, lower than the basement, they're in the fucking storm cellar. I really do not predict liking this song, but historically whenever I think that a song is going to flop, it serves in ways I couldn't even fathom, so I hope that the same is true for this one.
8.) I Can See You. Another one I predict to be a flop.............................no comment
9.) Foolish One.
10.) Timeless. Now I predict the serve of the century on this one and I have no context or reasoning to believe it, I just love the title and how perfectly it sits on a Speak Now tracklist.
Once I finish the vaults I think it's just going to be a free for all and I will start randomly pressing play on the rest of the TV's lmfao. I am also fairly curious about Last Kiss TV and Back To December TV, so likely those will be first, and then the rest will be like Russian Roulette. I will likely be reacting in real time on my instagram story, so on release night, that's where you can find me!!!!
What do you guys think about my plan, and do any of you have your own plans?!?!?!
