First of all the run time is 2 hours and 45 minutes which I believe is the exact run time of Taylor’s set; so there isnt going to be any behind the scenes clips or commentary, it is literally just a film of the tour. Which is great !!! If it was being put on Netflix…. hopefully eventually it will be.

Second of all, there is no way on God’s green earth I’m opening my purse and paying over twenty dollars to be in a space with screaming, irritating swifties singing along in a movie theater. I have AGED out of that behavior. I can’t be seen participating in that. Maybe I’m just hateful because I’ve seen people clamoring about how they get to meet other swifties and exchange bracelets again and etc etc and it’s like children …… it’s a MOVIE THEATER…… IM SORRY I CANT !!! I CANT PARTICIPATE IN IT !!!!!!

Third of all,  why tf is she putting it in theaters instead of just putting it on a streaming service or even fucking selling it? Part of me is interested in seeing it on a big screen yes but there are way too many factors going into it that make me not want to go … chief of all being YES I know there is going to be foolishness occurring at these movie theaters and I KNOW they’re going to be embarrassing. The showing up dressed for the tour and doing bracelets thing is cute and fine especially for those who didn’t get to go to the tour itself, but it’s just the screaming and carrying on and SINGING …… like I cannot be part of this .…

Fourth of all, I have no clue if I’ll even be able to be part of this because the AMC website literally will not load and I can’t even check to see if it’s going to come close to me. And me privately hoping it won’t be there at all and I’ll be free to not have to deal with this … that would be nice … sadly if it is at my theater I’ll simply have to go and document the experience it’s in the snake job description but I can assure ALL OF YOU HERE AND NOW… IM NOT … HAPPY ABOUT IT ….

“there is no way on God’s green earth I’m opening my purse and paying over twenty dollars to be in a space with screaming, irritating swifties singing along in a movie theater” IM CRYING SLSKSOSPSPSO

Jaikena Givens

I think she’s putting out in theaters because of the writer’s strike but I don’t know for sure

Teresa

I guess I'm a child cause I'm 33 & so happy I got tickets since as of now I can't get tour tickets twice now so TAYgating in Indy 🤣

em

it kinda feels like they purposely put it in cinemas so they didn’t have to do a global release yet because of all the international dates to come (and i think for awards it needs to be released in the theatres). i just want to know why it’s being rushed out at the end of the US leg, rather than waiting for the whole tour to finish

Robert O'Mahony

I'm more than happy to wait and watch it at home with a few friends rather than in a theatre with hundreds of screaming swifties... take your time queen just put it up on netflix or whatever a few weeks later xx

Erin Houghton

The fact that there was a queue for a movie… imagine scalpers start selling inflated eras tour movie tickets 😭

Perla

my purse has been opened, i had to

Amanda Hampton

Could not agree with you more. It reminds me of when everyone would sing together during the delays at the rain shows 🤡

seal ੈ♡‧

my plan is to go on a later date and hope the foolishness is fading out by then … a girl can hope and dream

Alison Leach

As a girly who was unable to get tour tickets no matter how hard I tried, I am so thankful for this opportunity to get a little bit of the tour experience. Definitely bringing friendship bracelets 💖

Nikola

Personally I think this is great, I only hope it eventually gets an international release in theaters because the reason why I think it’s great is because this will be the closest thing to seeing her live for a lot of international fans who live in countries where she won’t be going on tour

Luke Alexander

This is honestly so valid. I’d have to be black out drunk to handle what I imagine that theatre would be like, you probably won’t even able to hear her. Hope it goes on streaming soon. Also fearing she might change the international show and set list, there’s talk of it on the Twitter and Swiftok cess pool what do y’all think?

Leslie

I think it will probably be on streaming by the holidays, probably Amazon Prime. Just my guess. No way she's doing a theatrical release and not putting it on streaming afterwards. I'm with you. I would really love to go see it in theaters and take my spouse (who didn't get to go to the actual tour), but I'm not putting up with the tomfoolery that will surely be occuring. We'll wait for streaming and watch it at home.

bloop

I’m kind of surprised she’s releasing it mid tour? Like is she releasing this now in the US because she plans on changing the show for international dates or what? Because otherwise it seems a little greedy imo to not release it everywhere when she knows the international dates are sold out anyway lol like with the amount of demand she has she’d make $$$

Anna Rose

i somehow had an idea to look at amc this morning when i saw she was announcing something and managed to get tickets before it was announced and before any other seats were taken. it was insane. but i also was internally crying over $20 movie tickets 🙃. i hope that it’s just vibes and not what i anticipate it turning into because of twitter and tiktok.

mj

I would have loved if she also released it in theaters internationally as a Filo Swiftie. Watching the concert visuals in high quality is a must see for me. Because we miss a lot with the live concert (I'll be going to singapore next year). But i see ur point about the singing along INSIDE the movie theater.

Emma Bovelet

Yup! I mean come on … you are already playing a fucking ginormous tour!!! Would’ve been nice to keep into consideration that there are people living in other parts than Northern America ???? It could’ve been so nice but noooo

Elise Fischer

Hahaha yeah that’s pretty much what I was thinking. I obviously very much want to see it. But it’s hard to justify spending $60 on 2 tickets for a show I’ve already seen live knowing it’ll just end up on a streaming service later. And watching it without a bunch of screaming people in the theater is also a big plus

Nitya Kadambi

I think it will eventually go on streaming but probably not until the second leg of the North American tour is over? I live within walking distance of an AMC so it would be FOOLISH of me not to go…but yes very scared of being trapped in a room with young swifties. The last time I saw a concert film in theaters it was in 2009 for the Jonas brothers 3D concert experience (feat. Taylor Swift). LMAO.

Bonnie Dye

This will be a windfall for movie theaters with the writer's strike possibly delaying future releases. I'll bet AMC paid a huge amount plus percentage for this. But I agree... no way am I going near it lol

Katie Fritz

Say what you will about the other facets of the experience, the footage looks incredible. I had the privilege of going to Minneapolis night 2 and I’d love to watch this, being there it was so much to take in.

gracie lake

i got tickets but idk if i wanna go 😭 i might give them to someone else who will appreciate it who didn’t see the eras tour in person

Ducklina

I have a feeling that the movie release in theatres is because she plans on doing a documentary of the tour/re-record process which will eventually be put on the streaming services. It is absolutely BONKERS to me how the eras tour market value is so high that people will pay actual money to watch a recording of it and by god the tomfoolery that AMC theatres staff are about to witness……may they have the strength……

Mad Esme at the Plaza Athénée

First of all, as someone who struck out on Ticketmaster twice, I am thrilled to be able to experience this tour somewhere besides my couch but that is only 10 min from my house and spending $20 instead of thousands. I also chose a date a full week after release (to be closer to my birthday!) on a weekday night, so hopefully the insanity will be tamed a bit by then. I think this is a strategic release, done during her 2 month tour break, so the fandom doesn't go into withdrawal (and lose momentum). She just finished the North American leg, and is releasing in theaters during her tour break. I wouldn't be surprised if she does the same for the other locations: finish a leg, release the film during her break in that area (South America/Asia/Australia theater release after the Asia leg in March, Europe theater release after the Europe leg in Sept 2024, etc.) Then a streaming release Christmas 2024.

Cynthia

How much more money is going to be spent on this time in Taylor's career by so many young people that can't be making a ton of money to begin with (in this time of high rents, food, energy, etc)- it's becoming hard to watch all these young (mostly) people spending so much of their hard earned cash on tickets, merch, outfits, more albums, and more albums and more merch-- and now all the youtubers adding affiliated links to make money on her merch-- I mean this is - in my opinion - spiraling out of control.... can't we just appreciate artists they way we used to? A concert, an album, maybe just maybe a tee shirt? Am I being too negative? Love to hear snakes opinions…

Lizzy

She broke up with netflix forever after that ginny & georgia joke. Maybe Apple or Disney plus again? Nice that she's giving movie theaters a boost, they can probably use it. She wants to be a benefactor now because she's a future film director! Lol

Selli Diamonds

why? because this will make a shit ton of money, most likely a lot more than any streaming site would pay her. all the swifties will flock to the theater and if it's playing multiple days/weeks they will go multiple times too. and if she sells the movie to a streaming site after it means even more money!! I was initially sad it wasn't showing internationally but you just reminded me of how unpleasant the theater experience would be, so thank you i feel happy now I don't have to sit in a room full of screaming swifties 😅

A Mortensen

Madeline, you are a snob and I am very disappointed. I'm probably going to cancel my subscription due to your snobby, white-girl privilege.

Forty2times

I struck out twice on tix and want to see it but I live in rural Colorado. Driving 2 hrs to go see it, watching for 3+ hrs, then driving home...it's = to the amt of work I'd have to put in for the actual concert. I hope it's on streaming. No shade to anyone going. It looks like it'll be a musical theater level experience.

Sarah

I think I will be sailing on the high seas with this one so I can sit at home with my popcorn and eat in peace...

AP

I’m thinking it’s basically going to be karaoke time for all the girlies

Ashley C

She's a fucking greedy rat. My regal unlimited doesn't work for THIS MOVIE in particular.

Katie Fritz

This is a bit off topic but did anyone else notice that the acoustic set was dubbed “self-titled” in the trailer?? I guess I never thought of the implications of that previously! I don’t need to go off on an out of touch Easter egg tangent but I still thought it was interesting. Everyone seemed so upset that her self-titled debut didn’t get a spot on the set list (your feelings are valid, I just haven’t been around since debut). I know she doesn’t sing exclusively Debut songs during that set but to think that the spirit of debut is represented in that set maybe makes some sense to me?

Julia Smith

Maybe because I was just at an LA show but I have no interest in going to a theater for this. Glad to have it (hopefully) to watch in the future at home. But I feel like it's being released so early.

Allie Po - Gillette rainshow

My October is going to be fully booked with leaf peeping activities. I’ll try to go in early November so I will not be buying tickets for this right now.

Kat Howie

I booked a 10:30 am showing on the 14th at a dine in theater HAHAHA will NOT and dancing i will be EATING and gawking over taylor in munchy silence

Angela H

I think it’s going to be fun! I don’t think people will scream sing - maybe I’m naive.
