I think this chapter is probably both the highest and lowest point in the story for Finnegan's character arc, in particular.  It's also another character's first appearance, which was probably a risky move for me, introducing him so late. . . but necessary, for this particular story.

LOTS of stuff in this chapter.  It's a real doozy.  I'd love some reactions, critiques, anything.

Wow.. Certainly a turnaround for Finn.. However I wonder if the business in town might include Grayson.. and the prospect of getting him to join as a partner. Either way - Finn could come out of this very well off and in a position to do a lot of good.

Your characters are wonderful. It’s a good thing I can read faster than you write because if the reverse were true I would be unable to spare the time to feed myself. And yet I somehow hate that the reverse isn’t the case. It’d make for a lovely la petite mort. I continue to look forward to every installment.

Great chapter, I wish I could say I was a step ahead of you and saw this coming but I didn't, so good job on the twist! I was really surprised by how... literally everything just spun around, and yet the story still managed to make as much sense as it did before. Though I shoulda known that everything got too good to be true. Haven't read a novel from you before (which I'm going to rectify soon, I bought a hardcover copy volume of 'Off the beaten path' a few days ago), but I heard you like your stories on the sad end... I hope this won't end... too badly. But seeing as how things are moving right now, it seems like things could end well, although a bittersweet victory really. ...Watch as my hopes and dreams die as the Jackwald's boss ennacts revenge on FInn by killing him... or Tuli. Finn dying is heartbreaking for Tuli, but ultimately... after years probably, Tuli would live through it... but Tuli dying in front of Finn? I don't need to explain just how devastating that would be to Finn. Also teensy, tiny note but I found one typo in the following paragraph: Finn looked once more to the table, then just grabbed up one of the stacks of paper sitting there, tucking it under his arm. “This *MANY* not be the right stock, but we need to get the hell out of here. It’ll have to do.” Thank you for this chapter!!

Considering that Tulimak is the protagonist, how little he refers to himself in the later part of the chapter really goes to show how central this chapter is to Finnegan's personal narrative arc.

Amazing that you have Tulimak narrate all this, and yet say nothing throughout the lengthy conversation. This chapter made me angry, and then feel like crying. I fail to buy the intentions. When a deal sounds too good to be true, chances are that it is.

Whoa this story has been a ride so far! Lots of twists! I saw one minor typo, though. “I gained control over your father’s dealings quite easily over the last decade,” Gezan assured me, " Shouldn't that be "assured him" or "assured Finn"?
