UPDATED. I've updated the zip file with new mini versions with a higher gap tolerance for the wings to let them print smaller.

Hey friends!

The pelican is ready to fly straight into your printers! 😄Between the render and the final design, I made a few changes that gave our friend a lot more personality—and I’m really happy with how it turned out!

Over the next few days, I’ll be working on some fun surprises I have planned for him... and for you too. 👀✨

As always, I recommend:

2 or 3 perimeters

15% infill

And if any part has bed adhesion issues, adding a brim can help a lot

You’ll find three versions in the files:

🧸 Mini

🔑 Keychain

🧩 Multipart (perfect for multicolor prints or large versions without wasting filament on purge)

Hope you enjoy this one! And if you print it, don’t forget to share—it always makes my day to see your results!

😍😍 going on the printers right now ..

Failed 3 times at layer 63, two different printers, I'll try in another one ..

I double-checked the model and couldn’t find any issues with it. I also reviewed that specific layer in the slicer and didn’t notice any anomalies. Please keep me posted on your test results!

Nice will have a go at printing later today .

Joan

variable layer height was the culprit, too thin layers at the beggining of the neck. Worked fine at 0.12, thanks!

Joan

Talked to early!! looks like the tail requires a lot of brim or the Pelican will literally fly from the bed. Will try again (BL X1C)

Joan

nope, tail section still prints bad, I guess I have to use extra low speeds

I did not see the mini file. But when scaled to 75% the wings snapped off :(

Koza Design

I printed some at 70% and they worked well, what happened with yours?

Scott Owens

The wings were not floppy when I took them off the plate. The slightest pressure to move them caused the joints to break. They all broke in the same spot on every pelican. I was bummed cause they are super cute!

Koza Design

I'm testing a new one at 60% scale giving more tolerance on the wings joint. I'll be sharing the file in a couple of hours.

Any plans for a wolf? I have many clients, specifically indigenous ones, that wish for a wolf.

New mini file printed perfectly! Thank you!!!
