Mayternity 2026 Early Sketches (Patreon)

So not sure what all is going to be covered throughout May, but it is a little over a month away and I wanted to do some pencil sketches of Mary Jane (since she won the poll). Since this version of the character is already Spinneret by the time she's first impregnated by Spider-Man, her boobs are already bigger than normal and due to past adventures can lactate if aroused enough. Though due to the new pregnancy, her boobs would leak more often. Also did some research here and there for the character and apparently her pregnancy is both overdue by the time she gives birth and she gives birth on Halloween, so Mayday is a spooky baby lol.

Other than that, I am trying to figure out how big the pregnancy should be and how big her breasts should get throughout the months. Will probably sketch out a couple more ideas for y'all to determine how big she should be near the end of her pregnancy. If you want some lore spoilers then it'll be in the next paragraph, if you don't want them then don't read them. But the first couple of sketches are of her after first getting impregnated and traveling to visit and reconcile with family, visiting the doctor after returning from her trip, and the 3rd one being of her telling Peter she's pregnant. The last two in the bottom right corner are of her a little before and after her water breaks... I'm not going to draw her giving birth (that's too weird for me to draw), though I'm fine with drawing her in labor or going through contractions.

So during her pregnancy, MJ in the main comics is poisoned by a servant of the Green Goblin after being overdue which causes her to go into labor. This results in her being tricked by the nurses that the baby was stillborn, but in actuality the baby was stolen and given to the Green Goblin. We still don't know what happened to the baby, but she more than likely died in the comics. This though will be more like the MC2/Spider-Girl comics where Mary Jane does give birth to Mayday and the baby is saved and returned to her by Kaine. As for how she gets poisoned due to this version of the character having powers due to being Spinneret, I thing her spider-sense isn't as well tuned as Peter's is due to the spider that bit her being a prototype created by OsCorp. This prototype spider would be a precursor to one that eventually bites Miles Morales.
