i’ve been a little sad and useless the past couple of days. things keep reminding me of things, other people, people who have left my life recently. sorry to be vague.

i’m posting some life drawings that i did in 2022, at a local place. very productive, very challenging. it was quite funny, that was my first life drawing session there and i approached the guy in a bathrobe at the bar, clearly the model. (it’s a bar/event space also.) he confessed it was his first time about to model, talk about a big leap… :’) he seemed a little nervous. i know i could never stand in just my birthday suit in front of 20+ people. but he did amazingly, finding natural and interesting poses. he came to look at what i’d drawn right after, and took pictures to post for his friends. life is so weird. but good.

these are done in conte pencil. it's like the much better, non messy version of charcoal. (charcoal on paper gives me like, the exact same feeling as nails on a chalkboard. my teeth/skin is hurting just thinking about it...lol) each was probably 10-15 minutes. i have more i’ll post another time, because i’ve been back there on a few occasions, i just hate the way patreon posts look when you post multiple images.

have a picture of my cat, sat in her little radiator bed, staring at the food i was holding.

listening to this very cool song.

I hope that you find time to rest and allow the ebb and flow of life to take you back to a better or more comfortable place mentally. Our memories suck sometimes but we've got to process anyway. Wishing you the best.

The subject in the studies has this otherworldly or superhero aura to them (in a good way) and I'm not sure why. Sounds like a cool dude! Sorry to hear that your past couple of days have been rather shit- I hope that something comes round and sets your week on a happier course. Or at the very least, I hope the rest of your week is filled with little moments of you doing things ya love. Maybe see a film or play a game? I'd heavily recommend any of the works by Harvester Games, they're wonderfully dark (rather heavy themes) and twisted horror narrative games. "The Cat Lady," "Downfall", "Lorelai" and their latest, "Burnhouse Lane". I wanna say they're *kinda* like Disco Elysium but I feel like that's setting the expectation a bit too high and different, haha. I think you'd enjoy the dark artstyle, though! And if you've got a chance, time and extra money- I highly recommend the new Puss in Boots film. Saw it the other night and was legitimately impressed; really enjoyed that movie, it was very charming and handled some subjects surprisingly well. Also, what's your cat's name? She's lovely! ^^ Cheers, Duski. Above all else, take care of yourself, fam.

hahah i agree! maybe he was subconsciously posing like a superhero. maybe we associate 'strong' poses with superheroes. :') d'aw. thank you. i'm sure it will. oh interesting! i'm always looking for horror games to play! they look really cool, i'm gonna check em out. and godd i need to watch that film!! an artist i like (nathan fowkes) worked on it too. i keep meaning to, i'll get round to it ASAP! she's called Beatrix but i call her Miss B. :')) you too.
