A Date with Death - Beyond the Bet: Beta Day 2/3 (Patreon)

SOLARIS TIER: Welcome to the A Date with Death - Beyond the Bet Beta!

This beta build contains the two new days of Beyond the Bet - a new alt day 7 and day 8! As always, it's best to start a new save when testing these builds so we're not chasing after any old bugs that have stuck around.

NOTE: When creating a new save file for this build, simply click "start" and choose to jump to Beyond the Bet. You will have to play through day 6 again.

If you've played any other beta for A Date with Death, please delete it and redownload the file below to play this beta.

Housekeeping

Please don't stream or record playthroughs of these builds. They're not ready for everyone to see yet. We want to give the best impression to players, so please wait until the game is officially out before streaming it.

Don't share screenshots publicly. We will slowly be releasing screenshots of the beta on our own schedule.

Please use this spreadsheet to report any bugs/spelling mistakes/crashes you get so we can look into them!

Build Change Notes

This build contains day 2 and 3 (or, alternate day 7 and new day 8) of Beyond the Bet. It's a mostly complete build, but there are some things that are incomplete or we're waiting on. Please check the lists below for those things.

Voice acting - this build introduces voice acting into day 1 of the original game. Please keep in mind that we're still waiting on retakes for a few lines, so this is not yet complete. You're welcome to try it out for fun, but please keep in mind it's subject to change!

NSFW - this build introduces the first NSFW scene of the game at the end of day 8. You must have installed the NSFW patch to get the option to view this scene.

You can install the NSFW patch by dragging this file into your game folder, alongside the BeyondtheBet.rpa and DLC.rpa.

Changelist:

Added 2 new days

Added new bookcase system that randomizes stories

Added ~16 new short stories/poems from Kickstarter

Small bug fixes throughout the game

Added new Casper sprite

Added new SFW CG + variants

Added new NSFW CG scene + variants

Added English voice acting on day 1 of the original game. This can be toggled on in the settings now

Redone a lot of the UI to account for translations (you shouldn't notice any changes)

Redone the choice layout for in-person scenes

Readded in the text blips/typing sounds as an option

Added history screen to call sections

Known issues/things we're still working on:

Missing a background during a scene in day 8 - this will be made in October

Missing a webpage on the internet on day 8

Some voice acting is awaiting retakes

NSFW CG is not yet in the gallery

Tip from Patron Joyokai for Mac: just a tip for those on mac, if you try to open the application it might say something like "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified". its just a security system thing on mac. If you want to open in, go to finder, find the app after you download it, and do control+click and select the open option!
