April 2026 Monthly Update (Patreon)

Hello lovely patrons!

Welcome to our newest monthly update where we update you on all things Two and a Half Studios. As always, these will come out every month on the 6th (AEST).

We're less than two weeks away from the demo launch for A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS, and less than a month away from our Kickstarter! We'll have lots to update this month on both of those things, so read on~

A Date with Death

Voice Acting

After a bit of a delay from our audio editor moving, all of the A Date with Death voice lines are now in game and playable! We're now just doing the final check before it gets uploaded Steam/itchio and we're good to go :)

The Willowmist Emporium of Antiques and Curiosities

Demo

Once again, we released the full demo for Willowmist in December. Thank you so much to everyone who has given it a go!

You can play it right now over on Steam.

Art

We've been working on two brand new character sprites, one new CG, and two new backgrounds since last month! We have a couple of little previews:

Writing, Editing and Outlining

For March, a lot of our focus was on getting A Date with Death 2 ready to release this month, but we still spent a decent amount of time planning out additional events and character routes!

While the game only goes for three months, that happens to include events like character's birthdays, Christmas, New Year, and more. We've also got other fun festivals and holidays unique to Willowmist that we're preparing for.

We also went through and edited week 2, and now it's nearly ready to begin programming. We're excited to share a beta of week 2 in the future!

A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS

Beta

A brand new beta build released last month, which features the first 5 days of the game!

Writing & Editing

Day 6 is now completely edited and ready for programming, and day 7 is completely written! This means, after editing, the common route for A Date with Death 2 will be complete.

We've now started work on Atlas' route, though we do plan to be writing both at the same time in the future.

On top of that, we used March as a good chance to sit down and fully plan out each route and all the endings, including all the ending CGs. It's great to have a solid outline for us to work towards!

Programming

Over the past month, we've been addressing bugs and doing fixes for our demo release on April 14.

On top of that, our MC walking sprite was complete, so we spent a little time adding it in game:

Art

We finished up with a new character sprite - our lovely trainer from A Date with Death ZERO, and implemented him in game. You'll be able to bump into him in the common room!

Additionally, we've begun working on Atlas' first solo CG, which appears on day 6 of the common route.

The last for character art is that we've added a host of new hairstyles to the character creator! You can see a couple of them below.

Our lovely background artist Nichole has also been continuing work on our Underworld city background:

Lastly, we've also been working on the finishing touches for our countdown illustrations for our Kickstarter. Here's a couple of previews!

Kickstarter

Our Kickstarter is coming up soon, and that means an exclusive preview for all of you! Please keep this link to yourselves for now - we want to make sure our Patrons have the chance to work out what tier they want ahead of time.

Appearances

We're happy to announce here first that we'll be boothing at Smash! Anime Convention 2026! This is our first major event in Australia, and we plan to bring along some brand new merch, necklaces, Kickstarter extras, and some old goodies! We'd love to see you in Sydney if you're planning to attend :)

Webstore Opening

We opened our webstore for the first time in a year to a massive amount of orders! The majority are already packed up or on their way, but please keep in mind that it's the Easter holidays at the moment - the post office won't be moving any packages until Wednesday :)

We plan to do a restock on some goodies later, but some of them will also be available as add-ons during our Kickstarter!

The Storyteller's Festival

The Stoyteller's Festival is our very own Steam celebration of story-centric games! It will be live this year with loads of demos and discounts from May 12.
