Here is a small vehicle token that I was recently commissioned to create. I figured I would put this out while I keep you all patiently waiting for the next map to be finished and posted. The same client hired me to create a large magitech tank as well, which I will also be able to share with you all once it's complete. Thanks so much for your patience and for following along with me, you're all amazing. I truly appreciate each and every one of you.

Was there any lore the person commissioning it gave you or were they just like "gimme a helicopter"?

MapXilla

Lol! It really was mostly along the lines of “gimme a helicopter”. I suppose the lore would be that theyre running a campaign that’s in the middle of a magitech war, so I imagine this will see use throughout the campaign :)

That is super cool!!! I love it!

MapXilla

Thank you! I love making these :D

Hiya, I am the one who commissioned the helicopter. Once again, massive thank you to MapXilla for working with me on the helicopter! While I have no set lore for the helicopter itself, I can provide context on how this helicopter is being used. The helicopter was made with the Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane as a reference for its intended role within my campaign. Like MapXilla said, the party finds themselves in the midst of a war that had just reignited by a thermobaric missile strike on their hometown from the orcs. With the city in dire straits, able-bodied refugees begin to flee to the best of their ability to safer territory. Those who cannot survive the weeks-long march to nearby cities have to stay behind in the ever-burning fallout of a phosphorus-polluted air. The missile struck the commercial district of the city, so emergency services as well as storage and distribution of relief supplies and aid were severely impacted. The city is quickly burning through its medical supplies trying to keep the wounded alive, and the level of triage in place is slowly escalating. Nearby cities are doing their best to send relief supplies, but with skyrocketing costs due to the war as well as risk of banditry in transport, the supplies that do make it merely slow down the deaths, not prevent it. The party is looking to help, but they don't have the connections nor the money to procure a city's worth of medical supplies in such a short timeframe. With their fellow residents slowly dying, the best course of action they find themselves able to do is to simply steal it. In a foreign country, there is a cargo train transporting medical supplies between locations during the war effort. This country is the most technologically advanced, with magitech equipment well-beyond its surrounding neighbours. Their medical supplies is also top-notch, on a per-unit basis, can treat more people with the same amount of resources. The issue is that the country is located in a frozen tundra, and their cargo trains run through desolate winter wastelands. This cargo train is steam-powered, and it is fast. They will need something that can keep up with the train on its route. They will need something that can quickly turn along with the train through the narrow canyons it travels through. They will need something that can carry metric tons of medical supplies from the train and get it out of the country as soon as possible. An airship is too slow, too bulky, and too difficult to load in a timely manner. The country would have scrambled air assets by then and shot them out of the sky. They will need a military cargo transport helicopter. To find one, they are going to need to break into a military installation fielded by a country much more technologically advanced than they are, with much more security due to the war, and SOMEHOW make it out with the helicopter despite none of them knowing how to fly it. The only easy day was yesterday. With every day that passes resulting in further deaths back in their hometown, the party is in a situation where they have no choice but to go big or die trying. Hope that provides some context, sorry I cannot provide any lore on the helicopter itself.

That’s a cool backstory, and that mission sounds way cooler than anything I would have had in mind!

That's awesome. Thank you so much for taking the time to share that!!
