Dev Update (6/1) (Patreon)

Hello all you wonderful supporters! I'm back!

I didn't actually go anywhere, but considering the deafening silence from me I might as well have been gone. But, a good friend of mine kindly kicked me in the ass to at least post something to give all of you an update. Truthfully, I don't know where the time went. It feels like last I checked it was mid April and all of a sudden May just disappeared and now it's June...

So, what's new with the game? Nothing, at least not this very moment. Looking at what I have left to write for the current update (which is a terrifying amount), I feel like working on finishing the group lunch scene first, particularly because the place the cast goes to was voted on by all of you in this poll (oh god that poll was four months ago). I started working on it today, and I'd like to finish it (along with a few other parts) this week and push an update to the DevBuild.

Something I've been thinking about is doing a bunch of cleanup of the game, almost to the point of remaking it from scratch. This wouldn't change the story or characters, but there's a bunch of backend stuff I want to change and update, along with trying to streamline the intro of the game so you get to meet the girls faster. I'll try to make another longer post with all my thoughts around this since it's a bit of a big thing, and I'll want your feedback on what to prioritize and how to potentially go about this whole "revamp".

In other news, NovelAI released another model update (version 4.5), and it looks pretty promising. I've been doing a bunch of testing to try and figure out a good style to use for the game, so I'll try to make a post or two with some of my results to get your feedback. The game's sprites were made all the way back with NovelAI's first image model (which is no longer available), so I need to start updating sprites eventually.
